  • Hitler did not want the western world to know that he considered the true master race to be the Maori! doitz

0.50 The bro in blue pack'n his tarau! Lolz

  • Such strong intent and focus. A vivid presence and sharing.

  • what an idiot ole 'moral invasion' pooop!!! sounds sick and in need of treatment-urgently!!!

  • The dosen't need racist little girls like you, that's why their all dead. So go do the whole world ( including your family who would be ashamed and humiliated by your hurtful comments) , and go jump off a bridge.

  • Morallvasion you're a spine-less know it all red-neck gay mother fucker. How dare you mock MY culture in such a way. Have we ever mocked or did anything bad to your culture, that have caused you to be such a judgemental little coward. NO! All we've done is tried to hold on to what is ours. Yes we have faults, so what let your justice be served. Not everyone is perfect like you. However, let me tell you karma is a bitch, what negative energy you give out, you WILL get back 10 times. The world do

  • @69caranofan Yes my family haved traced our heritage back to 13th century England. Your point? I dont understand how that is relevant to Maori blood quantams or the other points I've raised.

  • Maoris are a rapidly disappearing race and considering they represent 15% of the population and 1 in 3 are state dependant, 51% of prison inmates, 59% of female inmates, half of all children in state care, the highest rate of abuse related child head trauma in the world and the second highest rate of child murder, I can tell you most of us will be more than happy to bid them farewell.

  • @MoralInvasion the only reason why any culture on earth are f@#$d up is they are half breed english and the filth that they bought with them have been passed down genetically ,hitler shud have f@#$%ed yous

up then we would be a pure race not a half breed so you say ,any way i am half english and half maori and people like you should be more respectful of other peoples culture if you are so patriotic go back to england

im proud of my maori heritage more than i am of my english heritage

  • @ukustyle Oh yes brilliant, a racial attack on the English race [your own blood] followed by a plea to be more respectful of other races. You should be on mastermind. Anyone reading this thread will see that I bring solid statistical evidence relating to part Maoris and you bring wild assumptions.

  • It annoys me how all the other people keep glancing at the ground and stand in a posture that clearly indicates how little they think of the Maoris' chanting and singing. Even if what MoralInvasion says is true, can't they show a little respect for a different culture? Everyone is so awkward, "What are these savages doing here?" I can't even begin to describe my indignance.

  • Dear Helen, We the people of Australia and the New Zealanders living in Australia need the help of the UN High Commissioner for Human rights. I am Maori and trying to fight a one person battle hear against the Govt. continued genocide against my family group. I have been trying to contact ICC urgently. I am a victim trying to report atrocities. Indisputable evidence in tow. Please help expose this countries atrocities to the ICC. I am being tortured currently to be quiet and submit.

  • Aromiea Spooner???am i rite??

  • Very cool video. I liked every part of it

  • i wish my hawaiian culture was still pure and not pleagued by western culture... i wish all the same for my polynesian braddahs and sistahs..

  • @alohagurl76 You're the ones that let Westerners in, hun. :)

  • @CelesteStorywriter UR RIGHT!!! HAWAIIANS CONVERTED TO CHRISTIANANITY WHEN THE MISSIONARYS CAME SO THATS WHEN WE LOST OUR CULTURE AND OUR LANGUAGE:( NIIHAU IS NOT OWNED BY THE US GOVERNMENT SO IM GUESSING THATS WHERE THE FULL BLOODED HAWAIIANS LIVE

  • @theme414 You speak as if this place somehow belongs to you or you have more rights than the rest. Let me tell you it isn't and you dont. Part Maoris are the descendants of early Polynesian migrants [1250ad] and Europeans, probably the most mongrelised people on earth and certainly not indigenous by any definition. Go home to the Cook Islands, you are no longer welcome in my country.

  • @MoralInvasion Oh my God... you again! Chill out and drink a cup of tea fool! Grow up and get over yourself already. You truly have a shit mentality.

  • @MoralInvasion mate the english race started out as a little village then you got raped from the gouls and then the romans germans and french russian mongolians greek jews persians spanish and many other countries thats how the english language came about whos the bastards now no identity you dumb cunts thought the world was flat or square how dumb can you get only thing you bought in to this world is disease like aids thanks alot england for your germs you dirty cunts a bunch of homos

  • @ukustyle The English race began with the arrival of the Beaker people around 14,000 years ago, then the Celts, Romans, Jutes, Angles, Saxons, Vikings and Normans. Please dont assume you know anything of my heritage. Part Maoris are the descendants of Polynesian migrants 1250ad and Europeans. The average blood quantam is currently 61% Polynesian and in 50 years will be around 17%.

  • @theme414 I'm sure you dont want me post the stats that refer to Maori crime, Maori child abuse and child murder as they are the worst in the world and portray the true face of your disgusting race. While you revel in your imaginary little world of 'aroha'. I'll post these stats in as many sites as I can find so the world knows what lowlifes we share these islands with.

  • Way to go Ata you are so in it ! kul girl take care...... Kia ora

  • Where are the tangata whenua of this place? Why is it that Maori are supporting Helen clark into this position when while she was in power as prime minister of New Zealand her government refused to support or acknowledge the rights of Indgenous poeples?

These whanaunga must have been paid to do this? The things we are willing to overlook for money,

    Ae Marika!!!!

  • Hi, can someone please help me identify the song that's in Maori on my channel? I love it and want a proper copy but I don't know what it's called! Help would be apreciated.

    Thanks

  • my mother has that exact shell horn in our house

  • Gosh gotta luv the accent Helen NOT!!!

  • mean vid, our culture and tikanga oncee again on the world stage!! nga mihi nui

  • I love the girl at 3:35

    Swine Flu...

    no big deal

    *fans casually*

  • je suis emue touchee boulversee appropriee de ce document bravo a celui qui nous a fait partager ce document qui m ai tres chere MERCI quelqu un d AMSTERDAM

  • Not to be offensive, but why are all Maori people large or really buff? Is it just their genetics?

  • @Durge000 A lot of Polynesian folks are very heavily-statured, I think. Check out the boxers Ray Sefo and Mark Hunt in their K-1 match, for example. Both of them are Samoan, I think, and they're both some big guys.

  • @Durge000 Wow generalisation much??? Not sure where you're from but I wouldn't recommend watching one video on You Tube and making sweeping assumptions about a group of people. It looks pretty ignorant, need I say more.

  • @monkelf1 I watched a few videos. I love Maori culture. Damn near all of them are really big. They are a well muscled race. I wouldn't wanna fight one.

  • what is the waiata called

  • @13Bayleef13 Which one?

  • @prettiwiki it's kk nvm I know it now.

  • I truly enjoyed being able to see a part of this culture! I have always loved the Maori tradition, though I am still highly ignorant of a lot of their traditions. What was it the cheif put down on the floor? And why? Was it an offering of sorts?

  • so cool being welcomed by the natives like that

  • "Everyone Type "Won"

  • Good to see Maori being recognised Internationally and representing Aotearoa! Waikato Tainui up in there.. always at the forefront of international affairs, chur tumeke Mr Morgan and our Kingi, Tuheitia Paki.

  • How arrogant are Maori becoming? Time to get back to a bit of old fashioned humilty aye? This is embarassing!

  • @244Ohiro how so?? The Maori race are a great inspiration to indigenous cultures worldwide.. Indigenous cultures are always subject to a suppressive system and I think it's great that they can get past all the negative stereotypes to focus on positive visions and represent Aotearoa on a global scale.

  • @244Ohiro I don't see how its arrogant. There is no reason New Zealand should not be represented by Maoris internationally. While the Maori are not as oppressed as the Australian Aborigines, it is still very important to assert the Maori culture as strongly as possible or risk having it smothered in the long run by other cultures not even indigenous to New Zealand.

  • @MoralInvasion. Hei aha koe! Pakeha, inventors of the prisons and dole queues!

  • @MoralInvasion to be honest I've seen more kiwis on dole than maoris....I smell some racism here....maoris were the first ones here so ...

  • @iosuntvio One in three working age Maoris are state dependant compared with one in nine working age Europeans. Facts only please and if you'd like me to post the Maori imprisonment rates, rates of child abuse and child murder, I have them all.

  • omq im so skinny in this video love beinq a maori and was so prud to represent the maori culture over seas in the states

  • omq im so skinny in this video

  • The Maori opened the door for todays celebration that is going on in facebook... International day of indigenouse communities...

  • Thank you for posting ... great to see ....the world is made up of many differening people's and cultures ..... experiences such as this enhance our knowledge of this and give a brief insight into the fact.

  • Love the charged atmosphere of a powhiri

  • proud about nz even though i live not in nz

  • Gooo anuty Helen

  • Thank you for putting this video on youtube.

Ive been in the states for over 8 years and am very proud of NZ. I miss the language of our people so much , and our people, and our land.

The yanks dont have what we have and have no understanding of what it means.

    Thank you so much.

  • I know! I live in the Pacific northwest, and although I have seen pride like this in some small pockets, you have to really look for it. I wish our traditions and history could be so rich and well loved.

  • I respect and love their culture ! ;-)

  • We miss Helen Clark, John keys is doing just as much mess as earlier National party leaders

  • this is very touching to me

  • COOBS you don't have a culture so why be jealous of ours. What have your people done for this world other than moan your blacksides off that you were oppressed.

  • Do you really think that guy dresses like that all the time and lives in a cave? I certainly hope you don't. Why don't you find out what you're talking about first before making stupid comments. This is about celebrating our country's history and ancestry.

  • go away you clutz and post on a forum you actually know something about like harry potter or something.

  • Who r u to tell others what to honor?

Since when was science, medicine and politics the be all end all of human achievement? Where do the arts, spirituality, physical prowess and respect sit inside your ideal world?

  • you are absolutely right SpawnFicklePets. Things that don't include gold and money and all that other worthless bullcrap doesn't exist in the ideal world of CHRISBOOBS.

  • let me rephrase. money does matter.. to a certain extent. but some people seem to think that money and being rich is the main priority, therefore the reason for living, when it's not even. Money just rips the world apart. You know if people just left NZ was like how it was 300 hundred years ago.. there would be no need for all this new technology. the world would just be better that way.

  • chriscoobs, Address these questions- what innovations, inventions etc have come from nz- what race of ppl were involved in the processes including implementation- what technologies or theories were they based off and from what races, (and before you say 'I dont know, but definitely not Maori and the like' bare in mind you probably dont want to sound like a clown).

  • Oh, before I go, why (in your opinion) do native ppls that have had their land illegally or otherwise confiscated or stolen by foreigners or have been displaced from their home lands around the world seem to have (in general)higher crime stats per capita than descendants of foreign colonizers and settlers?

p.s. what will you do to help the problem apart from point and judge?

    Just curious

  • atleast we were the hardest natives to have fought the english for such a small pop, 1 of our men would kill atleast 8 of yours. Maori 4 life .. Most savage race of all time. fight to die yet live to die.

  • Yeah and what more have you contributed, other than shitty remarks about a rich culture that you know fcuk all about? yeah they might make up half the population of prison.. but they make up more than 70% of the army, so when the Pakeha be running around screaming, trying to hide their precious riches, we be out there on the front line saving all your asses.

  • uhhm hu da hel r u?. shit wea r u frm? c dats nz rite dea ok shit y r u hatin on dis not lyk i can c yur ugly face on hea :P:P:P:P pukana

  • What? Was that in English?

    taulanis, you're retarded.

  • yes it is english knt u read? u r da only retard.

  • Well, no it is not. 'knt' isn't a word.

But yes, I can figure out what you were trying to say, you just make yourself look like an idiot typing like that.

  • wel its becoz i ment 2 write cn ok just go and get fuck ok. mata usi

  • As a pakeha from New Zealand living overseas for 6 years , Ive missed NZ terribly , and watching the HAKA and POWHIRI makes me proud of my country and proud of my maori friends and our native culture .. Cant wait to be back home in a mth .. Proud to be KIWI

  • I'm a bird nut, have you ever seen a Kakapo, Takahe, Kiwi or a Kea?

  • Ive seen A Kakapo , Kiwi and a Kea . They are all beautiful birds ... The Kea is my favourite , if there was ever a bird that didnt think it was a bird this is it ! They are hilarious , they even wrestle like puppies , rolling aorund and biting each other ... Very talkative as well ...

  • I know this was more than likely the wrong forum to ask you about the birds, but, can I say that untill I can afford to visit your beautiful home country and see these birds for myself (especially the Kea laughing and stealing) - I'm jealous of you, bordering on envy - and that I hope Ms Clark and all the UN delegates appreciated the honour that was bestowed upon them.

  • dayummm... that's pretty mean aye.. i love my culture so fricken much ! i'm proud to say that i am maori when i see people like this perform... :)

  • a proud race that i am glad to say kept its tradions and culture

  • fantastic video, thanks for your inspiring work, UNDP.. great that you included a ong description!! this video is 5*****

reading your quote ''UN Deputy Secretary-General Asha-Rose Migiro and UNDP Associate Administrator Ad Melkert represented the UN at the event, each giving remarks partially in their native language of Kiswahili and Dutch respectively' makes me proud that I live in The Netherlands, even though I am not Dutch.. UNDP post would be my dream so trying hard here to get on board ;)

  • Hey, I was wondering if any could help me with my school project, i have to write a protocol on a powhiri, i was sick on the day that the rest of my class went, and it is hard to find anything that helps.

  • If anything the richest thing i own is that. My culture

  • maybe the native people on thee other side dont have a custom like us maori to be called on to a place or welcomed maybe that dont have a certain custom like us ...

  • What is that song sung at the end? I was born and raised in Hawaii (I'm still here), so I've had a fair exposure to the Maori culture...I have always been fascinated and moved by it. I love it.

  • Aloha the waiata @ the end was called He Honore , Kia ora :)

  • "Thank you nui loa and mahalo very much!" :)

  • Awesome and powerful!! Maori culture is very rich indeed!

  • Inspiring

  • oh keep ur nose out of iht bey

  • MEAN BUTTONZ!!!!

  • tautoko that wun, that wouldah been meen to be over there tu tautoko . Meen az to see us Maori being recognized with other nations. Kia ora .

  • Oi, his name's TUKUroirangi Morgan, not TUKOroirangi ...

  • Actually, it isn't!

  • Wish Helen all the best however; who are we as Maori to powhiri our own on to foriegn land? As waewaetapu? Shouldn't that have been the role of the Native Indians?

  • The New Zealand embassy based over there was asked to welcome them. They aren't waewaetapu there :-)

  • Thank you Helen Clark for your contribution to our country. As any great treasure, may you shine brightly for the UNDP.

  • I really like the way the bloke with the conch was playing it. He may have played a trumpet or cornet before. Wonderful culture kiwis, us Australians should take out a page from your book in regards to culture. Well Done Helen Clark.

  • Wow, such a moving ceremony. Its so great to see history being made this way!!
