Pretty sure I was watching the Kirshner show when this aired and it was one of the few times where I went out and bought the album the next day. This band should have been much bigger and Michael Schenker should have been a star.
vid info showing this recording is from 1975??? wasn't it at that time, the schenker brothers with the scorpions!!!! before scorpions released in 1978 "unleased in the east" my time line is off??? have to check original Lp. or the damn net. lp in attic, lol now MSG!!! great stuff any way!!!!
@pacman13434 Michael Schenker left SCORPIONS after LONESOME CROW (Released 1972, Michael joined UFO in 1973 , Uli Jon Roth new debut Guitarist released SCORPS. with FLY TO THE RAINBOW,!!!
@AXEFLYERFV ur dead on!!! went and looked at the Lp and yes i have lonesome crow and it's like new still!, lol have the Lp's u have listed. also, did know the changing of the guard to say!!! Uli is one awesome guitar musician!!! I did question myself, it's been a long ass time in paying attention to the smaller details, fuck me!!!! (<
I was there in the 70's...And I wanna go back! But for those of you who weren't there, You really missed out big time...When I was a teenager in the 70's there was no classic rock, it was still new! Thank God for youtube! Now all you younger folks can go back in time and enjoy the great classic rock of the 60's and 70's. :)
@debihaley NO SHIT!!! Whats very old is very new again! Why?... this whole new genX, Y, & Z has Pop-Rap-Brain-Rot! 'F' pop crap (Michael Jackson the exception-to-the-exception, RIP, he hired Eddie VH to rock his stuff).
i growyh up in this timemany great band at that time UFO is one of them this video remind me of the great music we have at that time as Neil Young sing Rock and Roll were never Die let's kept rocking
Im from the USA and see that this was on the Don Kirshner rock concert. I would watch that show every week and dont remember seeing them on there did that clip make it on American television? On another note I have to wonder what the fuck my older brothers and sisters were thinking! Why the hell werent they listening to the Scorps,UFO, Judas... too many bands back then to count who didnt make it here untill the 80s. Such B.S., shame on the 70s teenagers of the USA. You were all fucking idiots!
@AXEFLYERFV 23? Dont know how that happened. Didnt see this video till yesterday but I was 8 yrs. old in 1975. Yes the Don Kirshner Rock Concert, The Midnight Special, Sometimes Saturday Night live was our MTV! There was the Soul Train, American Bandstand and a few others also but you werent gonna see hard rock on those.
well i guess you missed this episode you whiny little fuck! Perhaps if your older sister wasn't rapeing you with your face down in the cushion you would have seen this one -lol -d-bag!
@AttilaThe1 Oh yes, now I remember. Its all coming back now. You were the kid down the street and my brother and his freinds were gang banging you. Was your face in the pillow? Cause I could hear you loud a clear begging for more. Even with all that cock in your mouth you were very clear. You must of had alot of practice at an early age.
For such a pathetic whiny little fuck you have some very strange fantasies about me! It must suck for you, never having seen a vagina and all ... well except for your sisters -LMFAO SMDH!
i find it hard to believe this vid has so many 'dislikes'. Maybe they missed the ovation after M. Schenker and co's playing. Jeez, used to watch DK's RC, but i guess i missed this one. I bought Phenomenom just after it came out,,,been a fan ever since.
aahhhh the marshall rore!!! plexi power!!! the riff that kills. every honest metal player admits a influance from mickel shakner. and thay just got better from hear.
Was listening to Kenny Wayne Shepard, and it made me think about how much hype the press gave that kid about his fabulous guitar playing. If there was one real guitar prodigy it was Michael, at the same age he was playing circles around KWS and still does.
Brilliant group and so are the Scorpions. Saw UFO loads in the 70`s including at St Albans Civic hall on 29.11.1975. I play these CD`s and 12" LP`s all the time and never tire of them. Thanks to the guy from Brookman`s Park whose name I forget - but you introduced me to their first album and it was superb - I had to buy it. (And thanks for looking after my ford anglia too).
I was maybe 12 or 13 (maybe a bit younger) when I seen UFO at the Tacoma Mall of all places. I may have found out they were going to play there because I knew some disc jockeys from KZOK and KISW(?). There is a building in the Tacoma Mall Parking lot , which is still there. The concert was played behind this building. The lead singer split his pants open in the front and played thru a song as it was ripping open. He ended up putting duct tape over it and continued. Great!
Are there any bands around today that use Marshalls stacked up like that? Don't think so.
Glad i was around to see literally hundreds of acts like these dudes. What a great period of time that was. Superb shows going on every single weekend. Now it's hard to find ONE a month thats worth seeing.
@fuxgood airborne uses a metric fuckton of marshalls and so does my all time favorite band megadeth, however your main point that most music today sucks is valid.
@megadeth652 So there are 2 bands that uses Marshalls stacked to the sky. Surprising! And now that you mention it, I do know Megadeth uses them but even that band is considered vintage.
@eaglebowwer Good thought but Kiss is also another vintage band. I could name a ton of vintage bands who used them. I'm referring to bands that were formed after say the 80's. I know there's got to be a few but not nearly as prevalent as they once were.
This is just so cool, I remember seeing this on TV, I guess that makes me old, or Young at Heart, but I still like to Rock ! There's some bands now days that are very good, but I am glad I was around for the 1st Rockers that played their fingers off.

@AXEFLYERFV Yeah I got to touch Vinnie's 3rd and 4th strings :) They played this song. Favorite song. :) Vinnie was drunk and Barry was high as fuck obviously. Poor Phil's back was hurting and his hands were on his kness pretty often. He still sang his heart out though :)
@fatskunkripz420 Saw them Saturday night. They still blow the roof off the place. Axe: Sparks not playing the U.S. dates - Rob DeLuca is back - what a great guy.
Whoa! Hey there now. Bands like this may be a little older, but Phil Mogg is the exact same age as the members of Cheap Trick, KISS and others still hitting the road these days. Phil may be in in 60's, but he sounds great and he still has a slammin' bod - which is a hell of a lot more than I can say about these drunk & drugged out douchebags from the 80's. I mean really, have you seen Motley Crue these days? Phil can run circles around those guys any day of the week.
@muppy1100 it's funny you say alcoholic like it's nothing, yet a drug addict is a horrible human being, they're pretty much the same thing and neither deserves judgement or disdain
Sure makes you realize how pathetic the state of music happens to be these days. Especially when it comes to bands put together by some label just to make money. Thank God for old clips such as this one, Many thanks for posting.
Man, if i was in that audience and saw this for the first time, I'd be like WTF? and probably jaw dropped when Schenker starts jamming at 3:35...This was pretty much the most metal you can get for 1975. The main riff is so great
@andysinnott Gary Barden & Phil Mogg n are 2 different styles, nobody can replace the original singer, Mogg totally rules with UFO & Schenker, I agree with you!!
@psba66 Some people even had the audacity to call me Lunatic back then when I was listeing to UFO too , am 51 now, I guess am still a lunatic & you're crazy, what do they know!!
K then, I know this is an old clip, but can anybody tell me what kind of pants those guys are wearing and where I might be able to find a pair?!?!? cuz these dudes are sick!!
@Captlafl69 Don Kirshners Rock Concert was great in the early 70's, but then he changed it featuring nigger bands such as Shalamar, kool and the gang, Earth Wind and Fire, Etc.
Thx to AXEFLYERFV watched a great concert in Vancouver b.c Edgar Winter with Rick Derringer -Climax blues band and UFO 1976 my older sister talked my parents into letting me go as i was 14 at the time .So glad they did
Pretty sure I was watching the Kirshner show when this aired and it was one of the few times where I went out and bought the album the next day. This band should have been much bigger and Michael Schenker should have been a star.
