This song popped into my head today and I am so excited to find the video here!!! This was one of my favourite songs when I was in high school in the 80's and I still love it!! Thanks for posting this New Wave gem!
Recorded this off the radio in England many years ago: very bad quality, couldn't make out the title. Thanks to google, searched the lyrics and found it. Cheers for the upload, poptastic!
easily one of the best 80's tracks ever.it should be re-released cos no doubt it would be a stick-on no.1,so lets start a petition........... hey it worked for that crap song from rage against the machine!!! c'mon true 80's lovers whaddya say?????
Ohhhh the memories. I am glad there are people out there with great taste in music. I don't remember how many times I sat glued by the stereo with my finger on "pause" waiting so I could record this. I never could find this, I only heard it on the radio. LOVE IT!!!!!
I played this version regularly when I was a DJ during the 1980s - It was then remixed in 1987 - (NYC EDIT) - I played that version and I'm still amazed that never became a big hit
omg i have this on single i saw the video to this on "was it swap shop?" i bought the single an never heard anymore of them i cant believe how long its been since last saw ...... a brilliant song many thanks
I'm a child of the '80s (b. 1978) & enjoy the decade's music, but I'm recognizing this song & artist now. I discovered this from Aquafans, as it has some chick underwater. & I am all about those underwater girls! This video was okay, though.
The song was written about my old next door neighbor. She played in This Island Earth and the singer went out with her for a while. Great to hear it again. Brings back fond memories.
Don't like giving out names without permission, but ask yr uncle about the girl who lived in Longridge Lancashire. See what he says :) I think they're still good friends. By the way, I've lost touch with her so if you do get in touch, ask her to give Peter, her old neighbour a shout. Thanks
I couldn't agree more - I would love to see a video or even music played to a still shot for "Take Me To The Fire" - It was only played in NYC by WLIR a few times and I consider myself fortunate to have heard it, it has been stuck in my mind ever since. I have been searching for this song for since then (I don't remember an album being released in the U.S.) and would love to get a copy of it. Thanks again for posting "See That Glow"!
great thoughts, quietagent; as you say, we didn't need to hear 'fire' many times for it to stick in the mind forever. i bought the 12" single of TMTTF, without even hearing it on the radio in the UK. i bought it cos 'see that glow' DID get some exposure here, and so i simply took a chance on liking 'fire' too....was amazed with it,liked it even more than 'glow'. i think that 12" record is with a friend of mine now, as i dont have a player to play it. i want to hear it again !
Absolutely love this song! Was due to hit the top 40 the same week as Love and Pride by King. However, style over substance won the day and This Island Earth missed out! Great pity...and where are King now?
I've been looking for this for a while! I too taped it off Sat Superstore and I remember having a crush on the lovely swimming lady!! Anyone know who she was?
If John Hawkins or Kevin Brown should ever stumble across this posting, i would like to tell you, that you are very much appreciated. Please release your album on the net!! I would buy it !!
Have it on video. Must be about 22 or 23 years old now. Our premiere music show was Radio With Pictures and they broadcast a lot of the more obscure stuff. It wasn't all obscure though because I think on the same episode they screened Tears For Fears "Shout".Must transfer those old vids to dvd sometime.

Just thrown away the 7" single today whilst clearing out a load of garbage - thought I'd do a search and see what masterpiece I'd destroyed...
...not a great loss!
