  • I've watched quite a bit of A K's work but this one slipped through the "cracks" in my brain. Thank's so much for posting!

  • Should never have watched this high. Terrible, terrible idea.

  • A true delight, but I'm not surprised, all Akira Kurosawa's movie are everything but banal, thoughtless and empty shells with no substance. He's a true master of filmaking but even more he's a superb storyteller.

  • this dream is simply amazing... when the spirits of the trees appeard i was O.O

  • Thanks for posting this. <3

  • Bravo!

  • Foclore oriental, sentimentos universais

  • Genius!!!

  • MUITO BONITO MESMO,,,

  • @pranchieibob yeah I remember this... this one is my fave story.. all of the mini-episodes of Dreams gives the audience something to ponder about... about life i general.... I wasn't able to grasp the lessons of this movie before but now.. it's clear to me... after 20 yrs.... of pondering... ^_^

  • i will always remember this masterpiece..watched it during high school days.

  • I love how the first 5 episodes essentially tell us everything we need to know about the themes of the film without the pedantry and preachy-ness of the last three episodes. I usually shut the film off after "Crows", because Kurosawa is just repeating himself and preaching to the converted. The first 5 episodes up to and including Crows were truly dreamlike and subtle, though. Should have just been an hour and 10 minute film.

  • @christomacin About 20 yrs ago i had to do community service work at a state park and 1 morning at the park the landscape was most vivid with some Crows that i pointed out to the park ranger Her reply was that she watched this movie to my suprize agreed!

  • it's the first time i see a Kurosawa's film and i'm breathless. I don't have words to express the impression this scene caused me.

  • good

  • good

  • @elbrusiku thanks a lot!! my mom loves japanese movies so I have to surf internet looking for them))

  • Akira Kurosawa siempre sera el "emperador del cine"

  • This music is called Gagaku Music which was from the Heian Period of Japan

  • Kurosawa-sama is The Director, nor any average director. This man has change my point of view of how movies most be made. Master we will never forget you, rest in eternal peace.

  • the first time i saw this movie, i was only nine, but can u believe that i never forgot the colorful scenes and the taste of horror & suspense? it s absolutely one of the best movies & Kurosawa is the best Japanese director.

  • one of the films i can watch over and over...

    thanks Joey

  • She's the older sister, and it seems that the boy treats her with respect, it's cunfuse because they say that women must pay respect to man, no matter if she's older or not, but according to this, you have to be respecfull to your elders, no matter if they are women or men.

  • Yes,I've experienced such scenes from my youth(yute?),its called hallucinogens!

I do like Kurosawa, though.I find it difficult to imagine that the same man who made

"Throne of Blood" & "Ran" can make such

    an artistic,endearing film like "Dreams"...,

Hey! Is that Brent Spiner talking in Japanese to the boy??!

  • nice... we've seen this in our film appreciation class... kurosawa's a genius... it's visual poetry

  • not just visual poetry:

"peaches can be bought. but where can you buy a whole orchard in bloom?"

  • tough luck that the music part got divided

  • Oh god this movie is such a human landmark in art, every film student should be required to watch this movie!

  • @koolaidolio well said..This movie touched my heart..one of the best filmes I have ever seen

  • This scene instigates emotions within me that I find impossible to describe...

    Thank you for sharing this.

  • I love this vignette. This one is my absolute favorite of the Kurosawa films. I love the sense of appreciation of nature that seems to run as a theme through many Japanese directors

  • I love this movie!

  • i love this movie!!!!

  • Thank you very much. I like the most 1st and

    2nd.

    Gretings from Spain.

  • Incredible!! Thanks for uploading

  • this is great thanks for uploading!

  • I love this movie. I havent seen this for a long time since the first time I saw this was when I was in elementary.I will really never forget this scene about the peach orchard and the way the costumes let alone the artistic touch of it.

  • It also brings back memories of childhood, of the clean-ness of spring. The fragrance of freshly blooming flowers, and everything is new and simplistic, like the innocence in childhood.

  • A fable-like epic. Although some stories in "Dreams" are somehow circumbscribed by its delineation of stereotypes, the movie still stands out with Kurosawa's genius touches. Among the dreams in the movie, the peach orchard is exceptionally sweet and bright with its beauty.

  • T_T (<= tears of joy)
