It's nice seeing Theresa Wright and Patricia Collinge in another move after The Little Foxes. Love their cozey Victoria home, I can almost smell the pie baking for dinner.
I know that it was a reply to someone but I still don´t think it´s polite to uncover such an important information in the 2nd part of 11. I have watched many youtube movies and I like reading the comments, but the plot details are usually discussed in the end. If it is a reply - like in this case, then there is often something like "spoiler warning".
@krasnafarmarka Oh, so that's it. Okay, I'll tell you what I'll do then. From now on, if I see a comment like the one that was left over by you-know-who, I'll just send them an e-mail and that way, you won't be spoiled and you can enjoy the rest of the film. How that does sound?
I still don't understand WHY Uncle Charlie pretended to be ill on the train. Any thoughts? Great movie, btw! Thanks for the upload. Can't get enough of the classics! :)
@TronandFlynn82 I think it was because he's on the run. The police are after him since he's the Merry Widow Murderer. He had to use a false name and everything in fear that the conductor might recognize him.
@jeprice08 Thank you very much for the spoiler. It is so pleasant when I haven´t seen the movie yet and suddenly I know what uncle Charlie´s dark secret is.
@krasnafarmarka You're not trying to be sarcastic, are you? Because if you are, I just want you to know that it isn't entirely my fault. Someone left a comment on this post and I answered it, that's all.
@TronandFlynn82 He was pretending to be ill so they wouldn't wonder why he stayed in the sleeper berth all time, he knew the cops were after him and he wanted to stay out of sight.
I love Patricia Collinge. Her portrait of the loving, if naive, Emmie really anchors this film. What a scene stealer. Her voice and eyes are beautifully expressive.
@atualoa i'm trying for the same goal as well. So far, I've seen five; this will be my sixth. Any reccommendations? (I've seen Psycho, Vertigo, Rear Window, Rebecca, and Notorious.)
@rebachick94 You should also see The Man Who Knew Too Much (version with Jimmy Stewart), Spellbound (Gregory Peck and Bergman- it's great and you will see that the dream sequences were designed by Salvador Dali), and I would also recommend watching some of Hitchcock's TV work such as Lamb to the Slaughter (you can watch for free on Hulu under "Alfred Hitchcock Present's".
@rebachick94 You have to see also Marnie. It is very very good. My best Hitchcock films are Vertigo, Rebecca, and Marnie. I enjoyed also very much The rope, What's the trouble with Harry, Topaz and Psycho.

I just adore this little girl; of all the child actors I've ever seen, she is my favorite, she is adorable and so real. Her readings are perfect.

Uhhm. 1943. Hello. We were in the middle of the war.
glaze9 1 year ago
It's wonderful to have a look back in time. Steam engines, funny looking cars, telegraphs, funny looking telephones, black & white picture, etc.
1943 yet no indication of war so far.
