@nativemrv19722 As far as the story goes it IS great, but I think the acting is kind of amateur. At times it was like they were reading out of a script that you can't see.
@tdelamont I'm not ashamed to say "You aren't missing much." This was the only one in the series I thought was less than satisfactory. The acting was pretty juvenille (w/ the exception of Zahn and Banks, who played Maggie). The only reason I posted it was so the whole series would be on YouTube.
@62diane I believe it's the 2nd in the saga. Lonesome Dove comes after this (as far as I know; I don't care to see any of the others, and this was a huge waste of my personal time).
Buffalo Hump's real name was Buffalo Piss but when this was told to the registering administration they were too embarrassed to record 'Piss' so they came up with 'Hump'
@wheelmanstan yes, I believe so. I watched it first, didn't know the characters very well and thought it to be 'ok.' I have since watched lonesome dove and am now watching this again. It is well done and holds true to lonesome dove. Steve Zahn does a damn good job of portraying a young gus.
i don't like it when they keep changing the lead actors. dead man's walk was okay because they were much younger, lonesome dove was okay because they were much older and it was the very first one made, streets of laredo was okay because not many of the lead actors returned and james garner's great...but i can only stretch my mind so far to believe that karl urban is woodrow call. i'll still finish watching this to see how it goes, but it has a major (and unfortunate) disadvantage. :(
@LoneSola you know i said that very thing to my parents when this was on tv. the casting could have been MUCH better. the only two i felt came even close to portraying their characters were Elizabeth Banks, who played Maggie, and Steve Zahn, who played Gus.
@oldcartrader i understand. that's why i made a playlist after uploading them all. if it still isn't working, just go to my channel and you can view them straight from the front page.
I have this on DVD.. great movie.

Zahn's Gus is pretty good. Urban's Call is so stiff and poorly-acted that I won't even watch any more of this. Too bad.

@youmustask actually Buffalo Humps real name translated from Comanche into English means "Erection that won't go away"

@bgodwin1987 LMAO! Now that makes sense b/c in the book, McMurtry mentions how often he would be seen going at it with his squaws. That's just funny!

I want to know if this is based on the novel by the same name, writen by Catherine Anderson.

@ladivinapr No, this is based on another "Comanche Moon" book by Larry McMurtry.

So I love lonesome dove, though part two was pretty good, and really liked streets of laredo, but is this one worth watching????

Thank you for posting, it's a great show. Why do I have to search for each episode? You'd think it'd link to the next one at the end of each part.
