The problem with that is that the rich who have the money to lend will not lend the money to the poor, therefore there is no flow of money through the system this causes our economy to become stagnant. A stagnant economy is bound to fail at some point. That is why we are struggling, and that is why we're thinking about bailing the bastards out.
The problem was that Banks did in fact lend to the poor.Under pressure from the government, and threats of discrimination lawsuits from outstanding organizations like, ACORN. And yes both political parties are responsible for this mess. And the tax payer will pay as usual. Wise up!
I didn't say anything about their practices before hand, what I'm talking about is from now on. I completely agree that the banks, and the political system are to blame for this predicament, but rather than place blame let's assess the situation as adults and work our own way out of this mess. If we built it we can certainly rebuild it.
You also don't hire a mouse to run the snake pit. It takes a certain kind of people to run a corporation. Anybody you put in that position is going to do things differently than they were previously done, even the people who are there now. Their business accumen and moral compass isn't really what I'm concerned with; it's the direction that they take from here on. As long as we keep tabs on them they should do just fine with the people already in place.
Also don't forget the bad business practices most of the companies are suffering from were in place dedcades before the current CEOs and other Directors were in place.
The government is the root cause, and their still there. That's the problem no has no morals anymore. Who's keeping tabs on these crooks? The path is obvious, the government wants more unfeathered power.
I completely agree. Power corrupts though. Even if you were to put the most genuine upstanding regular joe in office there's no guarantee that he will stay uncorrupted. What we really need to do is make an example out of a politician so that the washington fat cats fear the people again. Right now they don't fear us, so they pretty much have a ticket to do anything. Once the people rise up and do something about political corruption then we will see change.
Could you imagine someone just nonchalantly investing in facebook five years back?

I agree in founding a solution, however the people who did this are still in charge. You don't hire a fox to guard the hen house!
