love the show. at 113 on til about 130. the notes were a bit to choppy for me. the original piece is a lot more graceful. plus harlingen south did this in 2003. the piece shoulda been modified. its too much like the concert version. but you did great
FLIPPIN SWEET! I'm a percussionist that can't wait to join the RHS Band, but right now, I'm in the Veterans middle band. I'm the only girl in percussion... how sad.
I was part of the Mighty Rattler Band back it the late 80's and I must say how times have changed. The difficulty of the music and the fast pace marching movements from all aspects of the band appear very challenging to master, but I must say you all pulled it off very well! Txs, for continueing the Mighty Rattler Band traditions and committment to excellence and always remember that "perfect practice makes perfect" ANIMO BAND!!!
just randomly found this video. not even from the same part of the country but i just thought i'd say i really liked the show. i can tell a lot of thought went into the overall production musically and visually too. and to those of you who don't like it...lol go back and watch your pirates of the carribean shows. anyways does anyone know what show this was?
haha ok excuse me, LF has received a 1 for the past 18 years, and received their first 2 in that many years in 2004. They are a fantastic band. Unlike most bands in the valley LF marches and plays, they dont march real fast and then stop and play because the music is too hard to play while moving
Well the drill usually calls for a section to stop playing during a hard musical part. If the Director is smart enough he'd have them stop in order to keep the difficult part clean and precise. If your music doesn't have difficult parts then there's no need to stop. Take for example, your band. :) Have a nice day!
Yeah, you are a dumbass to think that a band has to stop in order to play a difficult passage. I've seen a bunch of 2 year olds make that work, but what the fuck are u doing in a high school band stopping in order to play something that easily within a playable key? Oh, and this director has been doing his job well for years, what makes you so knowledgeable?
harlingen south played this in 2002 and it was killer! they added some songs from the Divine Comedy such as THE INFERNO. super good, and they put in another one-On a Hymnsong of Philip Bliss. GREAT SHOW. unlike this boring show
dude..you're from Los Fresnos...you should be the last person on the face of this earth to be leaving comments like that to marching bands that have worked hard on their drills.
I only got to see RGC once (at Pigskin...I was sitting with my band) and I must say...SWEEEEET show. Musically, one of the most outstanding shows I have seen a Valley band perform. Visually, the drill was clean, but still lacking in marching technique...it's not defined very well. I think if Rio can improve in that aspect, the sky is the limit as far as where they will end up. Best of luck to you all in '06 and hopefully we will see each other at state!
