a lovely tribute to a wonderfully talented actress. I just saw a clip of "A Patch Of Blue" on TCM & was reminded of how moving Elizabeth Hartman's performance was in that film. I can just imagine her perfectly cast in "Our Town" as Emily. May she rest in peace.

Elizabeth gave a stellar performance in that movie & I love that movie so much. She was a very good actress & very talented it is a shame she died so young & that she was so unhappy.
I think she would have been great in Our Town too! It's a pity she will never have the chance to play her.
What a woman !!! Everybody deserves a lifetime of happiness,and Biff was cheated from hers. I really admire her courage and strength to fight her illness as long as she could !!! So beautiful and talented. I'll never forget her !!!

I have had my own struggles with Depression & Mental Illness & I know what a battle it is & I can see why some people just feel they can't fight it anymore & I think Elizabeth fought the illness for as long as she felt she could. I wish she didn't have to die so young. She was so talented & still had a lot to give but I also feel like we are lucky to have her movies & her spirit still lives on. I'll never forget her either!!
BadZKarma99, I am glad to hear you did not let depression and mental illness defeat you !!! Keep on keeping on !!! And you're right we are truly blessed to have her movies to remind us how talented she really was !!!
There were a few times where it almost did but I finally got the right meds & so except for some Depression I feel "normal." I have my good & bad days but thankfully more good than bad.
Elizabeth did leave a legacy with her movies & pictures. I hope she is at peace now.
@BadZKarma99 in my opinion part of the reasons she may have committed suicide is the way "aging" women are looked at by men. I want to find out more.If I am not mistaken she had been divorced. And had a hard time dealing with it? And perhaps good roles just were not coming her way?
@mychaloh mental illness, why are women who become sad because of the way men value youth & appearance-OUTTER-always assumed to be mentally ill, when they decide to check out due to the way MEN ARE? look here on youtube at all the quote sexy models & semi nude & nude poses-for sexual purposes not for art. there is a difference!! THIS WOMAN SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN SO SAD THAT SHE JUMPED TO HER DEATH.
What can I say about this woman that hasn't already been said I simply adore this woman. APOB is one of the few movies that touches my heart every time I see it.
