  • he is obviously someone who dosnt work fr the pine industry, like many socalled "greenies"

  • Sad to see only 94 people watched this.

Too bad it would be logged already....

Really, what is wrong with growing something like Hemp?

It's started in NSW and still Vic isn't allowed to grow it.

  • All woodchips? Not possible. The price is far too low per tonne to recover costs, Brown mountain is logged for high value timber otherwise its not economically viable. And guess what? its re-grown and logged again..

you'll have avery short politcal career if you can't research your facts before you preach

  • Dear koath85, Yes, the price is too low to low, that's why VicForest made a loss last year selling off public forests. The fact is that more than 85% of the state's native forest logged last year ended up as woodchips, sawdust and waste. Only 12% is for sawlogs. (Figures obtained by the Age 20 Jan 08). Old growth forest is far more valuable as carbon storage, as part of the Snowy River catchment, and for its irreplaceable beauty than as a pile of woodchips. Sue.

  • Napalm? You absolute idiot, how were you possible elected when you peddle ridiculous lies like that.

    Do some research..

Forests are burnt so that they can regenerate after fire in the same way they have for 1000's of years.

Monoculture plantations? Do think so. Forests are regenerated by expert foresters with a mixture of native species.

  • who r u koath85? i think you're living in the wrong century...
