Do remember that this video was made over a year ago - things have changed since then. I've configured my Dell Studio XPS1645 so it starts up faster than both of the machines in this video... but maybe that's my i7 CPU and Win7 as opposed to his Core 2 Duo and Vista.

Thanks guys. I am a MBpro user but i have just bought a dell XPS (i7 for £815) as I didnt have the funds for a MBpro at the same spec. The diff was £1200 and even then, the Dell has the full HD screen as well as a much better graphics card with 1GB compared to the MBpro 512MB. As much as I love apple products and my own MBpro, I do think the dell is much better value, but I do prefer the Mac OS. For that price i can get a MBpro too!!

Have you done a comparison with Snow leopard and Win7? Fi :)

these are stupid tests. when applications are preloaded they are in the cache or wherever and open much quicker. skype had already been loaded on the macbook. also, itunes was designed for macs so of course it will be faster
