11.59 is fast, but a ZR1 is definitely more than capable of cutting a sub 11 second quarter mile time. If I had to choose a "fun car" for the weekends, it definitely wouldn't be an SRT4, no matter how fast.
The vette blew the tires off BADLY out of the hole. He damn near ran down the neon once he got traction. Give the vette a good launch and it whoops the neon without blinking an eye.

@12joshh Ranger has done low 11s in a stock Z06 and a high 10 in a stock ZR1. Both cars trapped over 128mph. Like I said, that SRT4 driver more than likely has much more track time than the ZR1 driver not to mention DR's are extremely easy to launch once you run them a few times. I used to own an RSXS with a decent amount of mods and using the launch control from Kpro DR's were a breeze compared to street tires even street ET tires. AT the end of the day the ZR1 driver drives home in a ZR1

I just recently raced a srt-4 with a stage 3 emblem in my stock 2011 5.0 It was pretty fast so it must have been a real stage 3 but I still won! It was from a 70 roll I cant imagine it hooking up at all from a dead stop on street tires?
dont have the dyno sheet in front of me, but it was something like 424@4200 rpms. Neons can be joke on street tires without a good driver and suspension mods. If the stage 3 car you ran into was full stage 3, he should been around 320hp on pump gas.

Obviously at the end of the day the vette is still the superior car. Not taking anything away from the SRT, but they are not in the same league when you look at it from a car vs car stand point and not who beat who at the track.

yep, untouched motor oil-pan to valve cover. Ported stock intake mani, lfs 60mm t/b, slowboy racing cast turbo manifold with a garage built v-band 02 housing. Dynoed 392/424tq on a mustang dyno at 26 psi.

I just recently raced a srt-4 with a stage 3 emblem in my stock 2011 5.0 It was pretty fast so it must have been a real stage 3 but I still won! It was from a 70 roll I cant imagine it hooking up at all from a dead stop on street tires?

dont have the dyno sheet in front of me, but it was something like 424@4200 rpms. Neons can be joke on street tires without a good driver and suspension mods. If the stage 3 car you ran into was full stage 3, he should been around 320hp on pump gas.

Neon SRT4 love mods. The fact that it's labeled a Neon doesn't tell the story of what's underneath the hood. Just because he beat a stock ZR1 at the track doesn't really mean anything. Obviously at the end of the day the vette is still the superior car. Not taking anything away from the SRT, but they are not in the same league when you look at it from a car vs car stand point and not who beat who at the track.
BTW...he who has deepest pockest will always win at the track
