@NickLikesToSweepPick Thanks for the lecture about the music industry. Hank III guys have something to prove. Others don't.
@NickLikesToSweepPick Not to make this a whole big thing about Brad Paisley... What do you think about someone like Deryl Dodd or Aaron Waston? That's sure sounds like real country music to me, but it has class, unlike Hank III...so is that also the equivalent of pussy music for people who don't know pain? How much hard times you think this little rich boy Hank III has seen compared to people who actually had to make it on their own?
"The people that listen to Brad Paisley are the ones who have never gone through struggle or pain in their life"
Uh huh...and I guess if they ever had, they'd be watching a guy with the mind of a 13-year-old sing about putting the dick back in Dixie and the cunt back in country.
@randommagnum You should really get your facts straight before you make dumbass statements like that. For one, do you even know why Hank III is on Curb Records? Because about 14 years ago he found out a 1 night stand he had a couple years previously had a kid and he had to start paying child support, so naturally signing with a label is what he had to do. That cancels out the rich boy part of your statement. Also, have you ever listened to any album other than Straight to Hell? Look up...
@NickLikesToSweepPick Oh I knew about the child support thing...I make mention of that in another one of these Hank III videos. You think just anybody could go and sign with Curb whenever the find out they owe back child support, or do you think being the son of Hank Jr. might help? He is in no way disadvantaged, and the only reason he owed money is his own dumbass fault.
So sorry, but the distinction of one who makes ignorant statements is still yours, over Paisley's song writing.
@randommagnum I honestly don't understand people like you. You must have written a novel on this videos comment page just to state your opinion and show your dislike towards Hank III. What point are you trying to get across? Hank III's fan base is so strong that there's really nothing anyone can say to pull his fans from him. I don't understand why you wouldn't go to a video page that you actually like and show your respects. It would be way more productive.
@WelchOMovies Funny you should bring this up... I was just wonder how many more years I'm going to be responding to all these angry little Hank III fans. It all started with a couple of comments, and here we are, months later, and every little Hank III worshiping badass wannabe out there is still flinging obscenities and nastygrams at me...and I'll keep responding as long as they keep writing shit that's too ignorant to go unanswered. Case in point: this last douche bag, "NickLikesToSweepPick"
@randommagnum ...Risin' Outlaw and Lovesick, Broke, and Driftin'. Listen to the lyrics in the songs on those records. Straight to Hell was the result of Hank III being fed up with fucks like Kid Rock and Keith Urban who play the music industry for the money and not for the music itself. There's a documentary on youtube you should watch, it's called Trashville, it outlines every reason that pop-country sucks.
I've heard stuff by Hank III that was palatable, but the classless, juvenile bullshit far outweighs that. The video of his live shows tell better what he's about than records (the bid tour bus he uses tells a lot about how broke and driftin' he is, too). I'm not a fan of pseudo-country either, but I'll lump Hank III right in there with the rest. He's as bad as Kid Rock...just a punk with a cowboy hat. He's a fake.
@randommagnum You must be a bible belt christian with your lack of logic. For one, if you don't like Hank III why even take the time to watch this video? Second, people said the same kind of things about Johnny Cash, Elvis, The Beatles, all kinds of other artists that deviated from their music scene a little bit, and what happened? Their deviance helped shape modern music as it separated them from the rest. Hank III is no different, he's just a black sheep in a modern day flock of garbage.
@NickLikesToSweepPick Interesting statement...so you hate me (because I don't like Hank III) and therefore I must be a Bible belt Christian? Is everyone you hate automatically a Bible belt Christian by default? How is that logical (speaking of logic)?
Why watch the video? It's called surfing, dummy.
Secondly, your mileage varies when it comes to artistic deviance. "Black sheep" doesn't automatically equal good. If you think it does, you have no taste...well that fact is already established.
This is a guy who could have had a hand picked band of the best Country musicans out there today to accomidate him carrying on the familys style of music plus make records with the best studio cats out there and make millions of dollars in the meantime. Instead he threw all of that by the wayside and played and sang what he wanted to play and sing about. His live act consisting of 3 diffrent styles is a task that most people who are USED to touring could not do. III energy, ABILITY, dedication
Hank III has talent that isnt restricted to just one genre and he pulls it all off perfectly. He isnt afraid to go out there and just be himself. It takes a lot of guts and a lot of talent to do what he does and i guess that not a lot of people have those qualities. HANK III is the man. Hell yeah!
who the hell thinks this guy has no talent? have your heard any of his material? his were the first country releases that I've ever bought, and the style really grew on me, but his hellbilly stuff, and of course Assjack stuff, what can you say? It's totally original and really fucking good, and trust me, I know my fucking music, it's all I'm into. plus, if glenn danzig is down with you, you must be doing something right.
@dime6664ever Haha sounds like a good time, but around my area everyones done with snorting and stepped up to shooting bags, hurts to see be carefull man. But yea daaaaamn that does sound like a good time
... people that are better musicians than him or me or anybody. I can agree he had it easier with the last name and all, but I don't think that takes anything away from what he has done, is doing now, and will be doing in the future. I am also a fan of his work in the country, hellbilly, metal scene and I enjoy listening to his music if you haven't noticed. That being said, everyone's opinion is just that: an opinion. I'm not bashing you, i'm just giving my opinion as a musician/fan.
To randommagnum: Your right as far as mostly fans watching this. But I disagree as far him having no talent. He goes out and plays for several hours a night, 3 different, yet interchangable styles. He can play fast and slow and always be in the pocket, he can play multiple instruments, and he can sing/scream over complex patterns. It definitly takes grit and guts to go out on stage almost every night and bring high energy to any performance. I'm a musician myself, and there's always gonna be...
@wthjrtx1 Oh really? Let me tell you what an ass this guy is - Junior owns property up here in MT and seems to think that just because he can throw a bunch of money around he some how has the right to usurp MT stream access laws, which clearly state that the stream bed and banks belong to the state and it's citizens. He found out differently. Got nothing to do with his dumb-ass hick-boy Obama comment, but Junior certainly is stupid, no question about that.
@TheGreaterGood80 hells ya, all the hanks knew how to play and show a good time but this guy really hit me where the sound is man i have within the last week become the hugest fan of hank and i am downloading every single song i can find while i have the cd's on order
@khattamshud where the hell are you from where niggers dress like that?i live in a county in ky where 99.6% of the population is white and i know one guy who dresses just almost exactly like this. if niggers started dressing like that it would probably be like the end of the world or something.
That's a very good point. 9 out of 10 people I have mentioned him to immediately perk up when they hear the name and want to hear the music only to be turned off by the lyrics once i play them a few songs.
If Hank Sr. didn't make it today it is only beacause the country music market has been saturated and brainwashed by the pop country crap they make the listener hear on the radio. Hank III's country appeal is for those of us who miss unsaturated "REAL COUNTRY MUSIC"! ...WE AINT LOOKIN' FOR A PRETTY FACE THAT WILL SELL COLOGNE OR TICKETS TO THE GRAND OLE SLOPPRY...we want to hear country music!!!
If your point is true Randommagnum, then how come Shooter Jennings (Waylon's son) is nowhere near as popular as Hank III. IMO, Hank III took a huge chance being "Himself" with all the drugs and satanist references... Most of the people who would buy his albums because of the "Williams" name would most likely be shocked by his lyrical content.
He COULD have been a "good clean, proper, pop-country singer"... Here's the important thing to remember: considering the kind of music this guy is into, there is no way in hell he would have ever been pop-country material, YET he's right - he could have done it anyway. Why? Because of his family lineage. That's alone was the turnkey means to a career in music for him, either in that genre or this one. He didn't make it on talent, and it shows.
I like what he says at the top of the video, and how he says that if you look at his history, he could have taken the "easy way out"...
What he probably doesn't even realize is this: even the "hard" way for him is easy compared to that of real musicians and singers, who aren't grandsons of a legend and have to prove themselves with real talent.
He would have never gone anywhere without his name, and rightfully so.
Thanks. The reason I'm getting that is because the people who watch videos of him are fans, and any criticism of him is going to garner that, truth or not.
You have a absolute right ot your opinion sir, I will not give you a thumbs down for that. But what musician would you contrast with him that in your opinion has genuine talent, if you think he has none?
The list could go on and on, but I'll use a couple of examples from both the "pop" side of country and the opposition to it.
How about Dale Watson, for starters... He also is a guy who isn't country "mainstream" and sings against it yet he's got class, a much better voice and he plays lead, and he had to make it on talent.
Now, how about Brad Paisley... I'm sure many reading this want to kill me right now, but nonetheless, you realize how much frigging TALENT he has? THAT is why he's a star.
I'm one of the exceptions. I listen to a wide variety. Stuff I don't like as well. First of all, without listening to it you can't really even debate it's appeal. It's not my favorite genre... but there are bands that in this type mode who are talented musicians and you can find something of worth if talent is involved. Another benefit after listening to stuff like this...is it makes you appreciate the stuff you do like even more...and songs that were on the border line are even a little cooler
I totally agree. I give him credit for deciding to do it "his own way"... but, in my opinion based on the handful of songs of his that I've heard, he is still really lucky that anyone will listen to it despite his family tree. I'm forced to believe that his ancestry alone must float this operation. Also, at the risk of stepping on some toes... he sounds a lot like gramps... who I don't believe would make it today if he were to try it now...maybe a long shot as a song writer... not likely.
Well, the problems with voicing opinions is that they are put out there for debate, ridicule and disagreement. Sorry, it was my opinion that you 'don't know' and glad you disagree with it- but it's my opinion.
no shit, all the original country singers were outlaws and were th "punk rockers" of country. now toby keith is the justien bieber of country that good clean wholsome replublican family shit! like nofx song when did punk rock become so safe, when did country become safe?
@kirk92270 haha... I was watching some late night TV the other night, and Toby Keith was on there talking bout how he was liberal and that he voted for Obama
i just saw hank last night in madison, wi and i headbanged so hard with him i am a skinny girl but i kicked some fuckin ass last night. they played with those poor bastards, and it was awesome. hank came out in a skeleton (misfits) outfit with those poor bastards then he tied his hair back and sang with a cowboy hat when he played with the damn band and when assjack came on he took his shirt off and headbanged like mother fucker. gotta love him :)
Hank III is great!! Funny How all his songs can apply to my life in some ways, COME TO PITTSBURGH, I KNOW A PLACE THAT YOU CAN PLAY, AND WILL HAVE THE BEST TIME EVER!!!
This is the HARDEST WORKING MAN IN MUSIC! 4 Hr. Shows night after night. I just saw him Wed. aug.15th he played 4 hrs with a ten min. break. But I'm embarrassed to say, his soundman for assjack was arrested for smoking a single joint. That knoxville Police for ya!
Great fuckin music. I never liked country music before, he really turned me on. His music is great. Fuck George Strait and those other pussies

He is in no way disadvantaged, and the only reason he owed money is his own dumbass fault.
So sorry, but the distinction of one who makes ignorant statements is still yours, over Paisley's song writing.
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum I honestly don't understand people like you. You must have written a novel on this videos comment page just to state your opinion and show your dislike towards Hank III. What point are you trying to get across? Hank III's fan base is so strong that there's really nothing anyone can say to pull his fans from him. I don't understand why you wouldn't go to a video page that you actually like and show your respects. It would be way more productive.
WelchOMovies 1 year ago
@WelchOMovies Funny you should bring this up... I was just wonder how many more years I'm going to be responding to all these angry little Hank III fans. It all started with a couple of comments, and here we are, months later, and every little Hank III worshiping badass wannabe out there is still flinging obscenities and nastygrams at me...and I'll keep responding as long as they keep writing shit that's too ignorant to go unanswered. Case in point: this last douche bag, "NickLikesToSweepPick"
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum ...Risin' Outlaw and Lovesick, Broke, and Driftin'. Listen to the lyrics in the songs on those records. Straight to Hell was the result of Hank III being fed up with fucks like Kid Rock and Keith Urban who play the music industry for the money and not for the music itself. There's a documentary on youtube you should watch, it's called Trashville, it outlines every reason that pop-country sucks.
NickLikesToSweepPick 1 year ago
I've heard stuff by Hank III that was palatable, but the classless, juvenile bullshit far outweighs that. The video of his live shows tell better what he's about than records (the bid tour bus he uses tells a lot about how broke and driftin' he is, too). I'm not a fan of pseudo-country either, but I'll lump Hank III right in there with the rest. He's as bad as Kid Rock...just a punk with a cowboy hat. He's a fake.
randommagnum 1 year ago
@randommagnum You must be a bible belt christian with your lack of logic. For one, if you don't like Hank III why even take the time to watch this video? Second, people said the same kind of things about Johnny Cash, Elvis, The Beatles, all kinds of other artists that deviated from their music scene a little bit, and what happened? Their deviance helped shape modern music as it separated them from the rest. Hank III is no different, he's just a black sheep in a modern day flock of garbage.
NickLikesToSweepPick 1 year ago

WashburnNN 1 year ago
Hank III has talent that isnt restricted to just one genre and he pulls it all off perfectly. He isnt afraid to go out there and just be himself. It takes a lot of guts and a lot of talent to do what he does and i guess that not a lot of people have those qualities. HANK III is the man. Hell yeah!
milsrlm 1 year ago
who the hell thinks this guy has no talent? have your heard any of his material? his were the first country releases that I've ever bought, and the style really grew on me, but his hellbilly stuff, and of course Assjack stuff, what can you say? It's totally original and really fucking good, and trust me, I know my fucking music, it's all I'm into. plus, if glenn danzig is down with you, you must be doing something right.

... people that are better musicians than him or me or anybody. I'm not bashing you, i'm just giving my opinion as a musician/fan.
zombiechris 1 year ago

That's a very good point. 9 out of 10 people I have mentioned him to immediately perk up when they hear the name and want to hear the music only to be turned off by the lyrics once i play them a few songs.
CymbalOfLove 1 year ago
If Hank Sr. didn't make it today it is only beacause the country music market has been saturated and brainwashed by the pop country crap they make the listener hear on the radio. Hank III's country appeal is for those of us who miss unsaturated "REAL COUNTRY MUSIC"! ...WE AINT LOOKIN' FOR A PRETTY FACE THAT WILL SELL COLOGNE OR TICKETS TO THE GRAND OLE SLOPPRY...we want to hear country music!!!

he got the williams thin lips.....lol
Desiree50 2 years ago
If your point is true Randommagnum, then how come Shooter Jennings (Waylon's son) is nowhere near as popular as Hank III. IMO, Hank III took a huge chance being "Himself" with all the drugs and satanist references... Most of the people who would buy his albums because of the "Williams" name would most likely be shocked by his lyrical content.
JoshingtonSmythe 2 years ago 3
Yeah, he did it his way. I'll give him that.
He didn't make it on talent, and it shows.
randommagnum 2 years ago
cont.
He would have never gone anywhere without his name, and rightfully so.
randommagnum 2 years ago
why are you getting thumbs down you get a thumbs up from me you speak the truth.
clusterns 2 years ago
Thanks. The reason I'm getting that is because the people who watch videos of him are fans, and any criticism of him is going to garner that, truth or not.
randommagnum 2 years ago
You have a absolute right ot your opinion sir, I will not give you a thumbs down for that. But what musician would you contrast with him that in your opinion has genuine talent, if you think he has none?
Laughodon 2 years ago
The list could go on and on, but I'll use a couple of examples from both the "pop" side of country and the opposition to it.
How about Dale Watson, for starters... He also is a guy who isn't country "mainstream" and sings against it yet he's got class, a much better voice and he plays lead, and he had to make it on talent.
Now, how about Brad Paisley... I'm sure many reading this want to kill me right now, but nonetheless, you realize how much frigging TALENT he has? THAT is why he's a star.
randommagnum 2 years ago
I'm one of the exceptions. I listen to a wide variety. Stuff I don't like as well. First of all, without listening to it you can't really even debate it's appeal. It's not my favorite genre... but there are bands that in this type mode who are talented musicians and you can find something of worth if talent is involved. Another benefit after listening to stuff like this...is it makes you appreciate the stuff you do like even more...and songs that were on the border line are even a little cooler
splurging247 2 years ago
I totally agree. I give him credit for deciding to do it "his own way"... but, in my opinion based on the handful of songs of his that I've heard, he is still really lucky that anyone will listen to it despite his family tree. I'm forced to believe that his ancestry alone must float this operation. Also, at the risk of stepping on some toes... he sounds a lot like gramps... who I don't believe would make it today if he were to try it now...maybe a long shot as a song writer... not likely.
