What color corrector corrects dull grey skin on African American skin ?

ok ladies the yellow takes out the red! That is the basic of makeup so since alot if not most of white girls have some redness ( thats what we are talking about here) yellow is whats needed. Now on african americans most of the time the problem is skin discoloration (hyperpigmintation) thats what dark concealer is for.

Most people have more yellow undertone to their skin than pink. It is pretty rare to find someone with a pink undertone so she is not wrong.

@Kidlike101 thats b/c pro makeup usually is for photo shoots or in case of a wedding lots of average photos so flash really messes up a face- makes you look pale. All good makeup goes on like this. most woman of no fault of there own dont put on concealer etc thats why many put on too much of foundation and look like clowns or caked on. Who do we thank for this? the tv makeup lines that try to be cheap for the masses. Very few products work for more then one area Most DONT!

if u have pink under tone and ur skin is light yellow will add color to your face. the pink undertone is the redness. there's still gonna be yellow undertone in ur skin even if ur skin look like it had pink undertone

Corrector then concealer - really? Oh, and then powder!! I know she's a business woman trying to make money but that's just taking the piss out of women's insecurities. I bet that woman didn't even have dark circles.

Not loving this... always use a foundation which is yellow in tone? I'm yellow, so that's fine, but not everyone is... Also, yellow tone concealer doesn't cover darker circles around the eye. When that's the case you need to use a peachy tone, as the pink in the tone countreracts the blue in eyebags... basically, I don't like this woman. Seems to me she's so busy getting rich off her products she's forgotten the basics.

@CFHWolfe i think she didn't forget the basics, it's more like that's her philosophy in her makeup. yellow tones help with the pink that might be around the face and help neutralize that. and if the foundation is blended in well, it shouldn't show too much. if it does, there's probably too much product on the face. it's just my opinion anyway. have a good day! :)

@CFHWolfe The reasoning behind the yellow foundation is that it counteracts redness; works like a charm! Also, every person's under-eye circles are different, so yellow and salmon can both be used for concealer.

I'm a mac cosmetic user but really wanted to try Bobby brown. - However I was told they are yellow based foundations so my question is if they are yellow based foundations does this mean they will give off more of a tanned/bronzy look?

@emilydianec cause it will look more natural than pink and she is right she is profesional make up artist i always had to use pink foundation and it was like mask on my face with wrong shade even if i tried houndreds of them and any redness on face looked more red on face when i started oto use foundation with yellow undetones it looks now perfect bright without redness etc and geen concealer is just for some prone skin unperfections not for whole face ,no wonder u dont understand that

@bombayday Then it doesn't make any sense that the foundation should be yellow in tone since most people have yellow undertones and it's normally northern europeans that are cool in skintone. I see your point but yellowtoned foundations looks really weird and unnatural on me and if I have too much redness I'll neutralize it with a green concealer instead :)

Guys, I think Bobbi Brown's video was just trying to show us how we can apply foundation and concealer easily with the blending and all. She's one great make-up artist! Infact, I even have that book on her video, the Makeup Manual.

when she applied the powder at the end to set the concealer did she apply it with a foundation brush? It sure looked like one. Also many companys carry a concealer in the shade corrector, its normally has a very yellow cast to it, I know working for Lancome that we carry one in the Photogenic concealer
