is not important the accent, the important is that you can understand her. and penelpe cruz has a pride of to be spanish woman and is normal that she has an spanish acent! is nice! ando for other hand..the american people when they speak in other language like a spanish...they have a strong accent too!!!
I'm not a native english speaker but I do know a bit about this tongue so I'll say Marion's accent is better, because when she's talking she gives the impression that she's english but when Penelope's talking you're like... oh God, she's so spanish!!
Well i'm spanish, and i think for us is harder to speak english than for a french, cause we have so many vocals in our vocabulary,we pronnounce the vocals in a quite open way,A-m-I-g-O, in french you say Amie=Friend, english and french are more quick to speak and have got a lot of consonants,so they have got more features in common, what's more, english is a 40% french. And on the contrary, for me is easier to speak italian or portuguese than for a french
@KortezNike I have to say as an English person it was easier to pronounce french words. i learnt both french and spanish side by side for 10 years through school. and honestly i loved spanish more but french was easier to say. although spanish verbs and tenses are far less complicated
you are on the few english latinophile polyglots out there ( there you go I have coined a word just for you ).I teach a few French to a handful of english young adults. They find subj passe and conditional very difficult to digest.Only the girls could pick it up after a few sessions. The boys still wonder why they have to put up with it.They study art.The art world is French dominated. Our artistic jargon is too difficult to manipulate if you are not in the know.
@cannoir haha I do like the word I must say- yeah perhaps :) It is hard to grasp but yeah I could just get it after constant ingraining. ah I see yes that would make sense
I think Marion has a better accent but Penelope has more vocabulary and a better knowledge of grammar considering all the years she's spent in the US. But I'm French :P
i actually think it would be more difficult for a french person to speak English without having an accent but Marion is quite good in the movies, and for some reason most spanish ppl have a really strong accent more than latin ppl idk why....anyways im talking bolocks, Penelope definitely has a thicker accent

It's harder to speak unaccented English for a Spanish speaker learning late. 40% of English comes from French it's not as hard.

I would say Penelope does.

Could a native english speaker tell who has the thickest foreign accent in between Marion & Penelope in American Movies?
