You cant compare Mr Bean to Blackadder, only a very stupid person would compare them to each other. The comedy style of the programmes are totally different, one is verbal and the other is funny due to the actions he makes.

Now give this comment thumbs up in respect to Mr Atkinson, one of the greatest comedians of his time who made an impact on the world with his work.

but you are fundamentally correct blackadder is a situations comedy and Mr Bean is slapstick Atkinson can do wonderful slapstick, situations comedy and stand-up. not many comedians can excel in all three

but in the end it's the writers that make the half the job in situations comedy

and blackadder has great actors

And I really don't think you can say Atkinson "made an impact on the world" with merely comedy! Not even Atkinson would argue that!

That said, of course (like others) he was talented and has produced some good work. This, in particular, amongst his best acting - but remember he didn't write or create it!
