You started out next to Thursty Nelly's, in the heart of the Altstadt. The fountain is on St. Martinsplatz. Have stumbled past it many a Friday evening (:

Please, folks, take a little time and do some research. Kaiserslautern has a very rich and amazing history.

KTown is Germanys Detroit. Run down and ugly. I feel sorry for those Americans stationed there. ;-)

@tjpld Kaiserslautern is actually quite charming, but it looks very sad in the rain. As do many cities and towns all over the world. Come on over and have a look at it in the sunshine and you will see why we love our little K-Town

I study there so I know K-Town quite well. If foreigners feel comfortable in K-Town I'm happy. I'd rather live in Koblenz, Tier, Worms, Speyer or Landau. It takes an hour to get from Kaiserslautern to any of the bigger cities like Heidelberg,Karlsruhe, Mannheim, Frankfurt.
