  • Thumbs up if you're here because of Ash haha

  • esta poseído tosin hahaha xD!!!!

  • Why the fuck did they break up......

  • 0:40

  • what is my life?

  • There is so much win in this video.

Anyone notice the background image? Looks like they might have been opening for SYL.

    MORE WIN!

  • 0:8 to 0:10 it´s funny to see tosin´s old days

  • they should reform?

  • @likemonstersalldays And kill AAL, The Faceless, TRAM, etc., in the process.

  • Hard to believe that these three amazing guys all started here. I never thought of Ash to have been a singer.

  • I wanna see Tosin and Evan in a band with Barry Donegan and Miles Mcpherson. IMO, they'd be interesting together.

  • known about Tosin for a while now, just found out about Brewer... This is ridiculous

  • I came here to watch Tosin's music with vocals

  • Tosin Abasio rocking out

  • um, you guys are crazy and i fucking hope to hell at least half these guys go back to metalcore. fuuuuuuuuuck, given what they can do now? i'd stalk that tour and shit my pants every gig shameless as fuck.

  • Evan Brewer with what looks like a Schecter Stilleto and using a pick. Looks like gear and technique has changed a bit since.

  • @rage1331 Nah, he plays all sorts of stuff with finger or pick. He's been playing stuff like on his solo album for 10 years+, even since back in the point of you days when I first met him.

  • I'm not bashing the band or any members in it, but this band severely dissapoints me. Tosin and Evan both have so much writing skill and technical proficiency, I just expected so much more from them. Seriously not hating, this is obviously not bad, it just could have been so much more. On another note, it's cool to see Tosin headbanging, he rarely really gets into it when playing with AAL.

  • @rage1331 well this is way back in 2000

  • @shadowromeo22 I know, I heard AAL first, then Evan Brewer's Alone, and THEN someone told me they were in a band together at one point. So I got my hopes up based on their current material. Like I said, this isn't bad at all, I'll probably even get the CD. I just half expected to see some crazy ass prog metal.

  • @rage1331 8-9 years of playing can do something to guy huh...

  • Tosin looks great

  • This is good Metal music , but Tosin abasi in Animals as leaders is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better.

Same thing for evan brewer ...

  • WHERES THE FUCKING VIDEO OF SINGLE FILE TO BLISS FROM THE SAME SHOW? HOOK A BROTHA UP

  • @2Dsuperhero Google uvtv reflux man it still exists

  • I came to watch this whole fucking band

  • It cracks me up that people are just now discovering this band because of Tosin's success with AAL and Evan joining The Faceless. I remember seeing these guys in 2003 while Tosin was still in PSI before he joined Reflux. This whole album is great if you can find it anywhere. Miss this band!

  • I didn't came to see him,but the drummer is actually sick !

  • i came here to rub one out.

  • i tell people about this album all the time! if it wasnt for these guys i wouldnt have wanted to join up with my band, they influenced me big time. Just wana say thanx, an were recording n ten days. Wish they were known though they rock

  • Ash and Tosin... Kill'n, damn I miss this Band.

  • @ShredTheMetal No, thats Tosins cousin Nisot.

  • The guitarist is totally copying the guy from Animals as Leaders.........hes not as good though

  • @BuddyMETAL1 I chuckled heartily, good sir.

  • @BuddyMETAL1 lmfao

  • I have all the songs if ya'll want to listen to them

  • is that Evan Breweron bass?

  • @4stringFanatico That is indeed Evan Brewer on Bass, I saw him just last night with AAl, along with Intronaut. All three were phenomenal!!!

  • @TheRoflwaffle17 fuk yeah man! i saw them on the same tour in holllywood california. best concert ever. i got a private lesson from Javier and i got to hang out with the band after the show, such chlil dudes. and damn evan is a fucking beast! so is the bassist for Inronaut, the fretLESS work h does is sumthn else haha

  • @4stringFanatico Yeah, when I was driving past the venue, Javier was sitting on the side just chilling and me and my buddies just yelled "Intornaut" and he was like "FUCK YEAH!!!!" hah it was hilarious.

    .

  • @TheRoflwaffle17 they are alll chill as fuck,so we glad we wer able to catch them before they became untouchable (metallica status)

  • @brandmonium23 He just diverted himself after a while hes like "yooo I am amazing at guitar!" And then AAL was born.

  • I came for Tosin and Evan, but stayed for the incredible vocals!!!

  • illuminati

  • reflux WINNING!

  • Look at the first related link. Awesome, I queue'd it.

  • Don't forget Ash Avildsen. He owns Sumerian Records and runs like half the metal tours in the U.S.

  • i can't beleive tosin abasi and evan brewer were in this band

  • tosin was pulling this band. otherwise they were holding him back majorly.

  • @jakubzor I'm guessing you have no idea who the bassist is then.

  • Tosin headbanging is the most beautiful thing ever :D

  • OHH MY GOD ITS TOSIN ABASSI HOWEVER ITS SPELLED!!!

  • Drummer is pretty badass in my opinion!

  • tosin and evan should do a comeback and form a super group maybe with misha mansoor and navene koperweis and another kickass person :D

  • @sk8nmetalpsycho can we add paul waggoner to the mix.

  • @sk8nmetalpsycho charlie sheen!!!!!!

  • @sk8nmetalpsycho olly steele hayato imanishi nano sigo tosin abasi evan brewer and travis orbin o.O

  • @sk8nmetalpsycho how about Javier Reyes? You already put Tosin and Navene together.

  • Tosin Abasi and Evan Brewer are gods

  • tosin abasi is one of the best guitarists ever but that headbang at 0:41 was not what i expected him to do. (still laughing as i write this)

  • Tosin made this band! Though he is onto bigger and better things with Animals as leaders now!

  • I want to cut of either Evan and/or Tosin's hands and attach them to myself.

  • @rob6666 ...i think they made a movie about something like that...Idle Hands or something....

  • @rob6666

Compromise. Get all four. Play bass and guitar simultaneously, godlike.

  • i came her to watch evan brewer play bass

  • @punchfloor me too.

  • @punchfloor haha... hipster

  • @punchfloor Where the fuck is tosin abasi?

  • @punchfloor Hes incredibley over rated by The Faceless (first good band hes been in) fanboys.

  • Tosin is just ridiculous...

  • What an awesome band :) great musicians..

  • No way is Tosin rockin' out that hard! man I wish his band played with that much energy when they I saw them!

  • OH SHIT I LIVE HERE

  • It is easy to see why Tosin does not headbang as hard anymore. XD

  • Such a good band. Had the priviledge of seeing em like 3 or 4 times.. Such a bummer that they broke up.. But AAL is fucking mindblowing so it evens out.

  • evan brewer is a fucking hoss too.

  • holy shit they censored the song...

  • I was at this show, they opened for SYL (obviously). Great show, hadn't heard of them before seeing them live. Bought the CD on the way out, got a T-Shirt with it for 5 bucks, can't beat that! Tosin is simply ridiculous.

  • To say the obvious, Tosin freaking rules.

However, ya gotta admit that the bassist freaking rocks as well. Look at those bass taps.

Also, the vocals, those are some pretty nice screams. I dont see why you are ripping on them.

  • @Erinaz22 check out Evan Brewers bass slap videos. He's the bassist for Reflux and now for The Faceless. Best bassist I've ever seen

  • @jacksonguitarsrule1 He used to be in Animosity, too. He's KILLER.

  • holy crap theres a strapping young lad back drop behind them!!!

  • dont like the vocals

  • 0:39 LMAO

  • @allhailpantera123 uh i never decided anything bud. And misha knows a lot actually u are a moron to jus say tht. He is very smart wen it comes to this stuff. Before you try to tell me something about music educate yourself. I havent spent 15 years of my life studying music and playing it to not know anything. Learn something first

  • @TheCompulsionToKill but misha himself said he doesnt know much about theory. just saying.

  • @hiddenoath he did say that but, i mean that shouldnt make you not want to learn it.

  • @markus0neill yeah i agree, im actually taking up theory when i start college! :D

  • 0:40 lmao

  • tosin plays in animals as leaders now right? Just saw his live show in Atlanta last week. he said he went to music school out here. epic ass guitar shredding and signature timings.

  • tosin is wearing...a t-shirt and jeans....my god.

  • to the dumb dumb ripping on theory: Abasi knows tons of theory. To shred like that you have to have some foundation, or else you're just playing on a grid of 8 strings with 24 frets. And who the hell can just play like that without knowing any modes/scales/key signatures/etc. Go to school or shut your mouth. There's enough retards on the planet.

  • @nicknyk2 i agree

    but there is one

    omar rodriguez lopez

shreds an ibanez no theory for 15 yrs and counting

  • 2:32 RATM?

  • the only good object in this video, tosin abasi and his guitar

  • @TheFpb2 That's hilarious.

  • DON'T RIP ON THE VOCALS! Ash is the founder of Sumerian Records....

  • animals as leaders FTW

  • Let's be honest, you came here to watch Tosin play guitar.

  • @damaged01 So true

  • @damaged01 fucking ya i did!

  • @damaged01

Fuck yeah! Best guitarist alive at the moment

  • @damaged01 yep

  • @damaged01 I came to watch Evan Brewer actually

  • @damaged01 Actually, came here to watch Evan Brewer, but they're both pretty badass, as is this band in general

  • @damaged01 Let's be honest, you came here to watch Tosin play guitar, and Evan play bass.

  • @HorrorVolumeOctober EXACTLY that

  • @damaged01 and evan play bass.

  • ...

    horrid HORRID vocals

  • @shortperson1026 Yes, I know! :-)

  • tosin is just unbelievable

  • The vocalist kills them. They too should be instrumental!

  • @guitarwizard6 That's basically Animals as Leaders :P

  • 41 secs hahaha i love tosin

  • 0:41 i lol'd

  • @MrFuzzelmcfu Bwahahahhahaha!!

  • @MrFuzzelmcfu REVERSE HEADBANG !!! lol

  • @MrFuzzelmcfu ME TOO!

  • @MrFuzzelmcfu me too lol

  • @MrFuzzelmcfu My favorite part of any video on youtube.

  • Tosin pretty much made this band, plus he was doing everything by ear, he hadn't learned any music theory or scales.

  • @supermario5 i highly doubt that. this whole band was baddass

  • @supermario5 I can tell you that it's based off of an augmented C major 7th arpeggio descending in a tripplet 16th note sequence....does that sound like someone who plays by ear???

  • @trentbrew24 You don't have to know music theory to be a good musician. Sure, it's great to study and it helps sometimes, but some musicians are great without it. Chuck Schuldiner of Death was an amazingly creative musician, yet he knew very little musical theory. He was definitely better than the guy in this band.

  • @trace632 uhh, i am a MASSIVE chuck/death fan, and no, he was not better than this guy (tosin). for that matter, he wasn't better than paul masvidal (his hired gun guitarist for "human" and the lead singer/guitarist for CYNIC). but that doesn't take anything away from chuck...this guy is just ridiculously skilled. listen to animals as leaders and ask yourself if there was anything chuck ever did that tosin could not do...or do better.

  • @mobiusstrip01 All this sounds like is typical metalcore with an attempt to sound "progressive" or "technical." No, I don't think this guy is better than Chuck and he is by far a much less talented songwriter than Chuck. But I'm not going to argue with you. There's no point. You're not changing my mind and I'm not changing yours.

  • @trace632 i get why you would say that. that's why i wonder if you've seen/heard him completely in his element. this ain't it. animals as leaders IS. THAT is what i've based my opinion on. and i still stand by this: masvidal>chuck, no matter HOW MUCH i revere chuck as a guitarist and (BUT MOST) as songwriter.

  • @mobiusstrip01 I've listened to Animals As Leaders before and, yes, they are very good, both with songwriting and musically talented-wise, but there's something about having a vocalist that makes it easier for me to be totally interested in a band. And Chuck definitely has a great vocal style, considering no one really sounds like him.

  • @trace632 i agree with that. i have to be in a certain state of mind to listen to AAL,but was strictly speaking to the talent issue.

  • @mobiusstrip01 Yeah, I know what you mean. But they are pretty great, though.

  • @trentbrew24 If you gone on Ibanez.com and look up his interview with them, he says that while he was in Reflux he played by ear but at the time of the interview he was in school learning theory.

  • singer reminds me of henry rollins :o

  • Gaga.

  • these guys opened a show for strapping young lad or is just a really cool decoration in that wall behind??

  • The singer isn't that bad actually, he sounds really good on other songs.

  • check out animals as leaders with the guitarist. saw reflux live fucking amazing show!!!

  • the vocalist sucks. good thing he started that record label and quit sucking.

  • 1:08 of this song is very similar to 3:05 of AAL Inamorata, just a few octaves higher.

  • Does anyone else have this album? It's simply amazing, I recommend you visit itunes.

  • Comment removed

  • Would everybody fucking stop genre picking bullshit. Please who cares. If you like it click thumbs up and shut the fuck up.

  • This is awesome. Ash is a beast.

  • this is progressive metalcore/hardcore

  • @TravuhsWree I'd put this in the hardcore genre, but metal vocals are not all similar in any respect. I have been playing metal for a lonnnnng time, and been through many styles of vocalists, and there are definitely those metal vocalists that rise above and beyond to create a sound that works with the music, but is legible. For instance, go look up Death. =) Chuck Schuldiner will speak harder than me. =)

  • That is pretty awesome, but Animals as Leaders has progressed way farther than Reflux. Plus, I hate metal vocals. Just my opinion.

  • @TravuhsWree These are NOT metal vocals. This is bullshit hardcore. If you really want to hear "metal vocals" I'll send you a list of bands, this crap sucks vocally imo. I listen to it for Tosin haha

  • @mwilhelmus Well, this is a metal band isn't it? Quite frankly, to me at least, metal vocals are all pretty similar, at least in that they all contain screaming/grumbling/whatever you might call it. Could be wrong though.

  • @mwilhelmus How is this bullshit hardcore? At least it's not just shredding and breakdowns. The genre is completely irrelevant, you should like something because you like it, not because of it's genre.

  • reflux as a whle was an inspirational metalband............. I lived in a hotel in elpaso texas that hosted reflux.......... Tosin .. and guitar hero caused me at the age of 29 to learn ele guitar., a true inspiration going from the the love of Drums, Pantera, Metallica, ect to guitar..... really hreart felt

  • wow... I can't believe Tosin Abasi was doing this before Animals as Leaders.

  • Holy crap, that guitarist rules

  • @NormaJe4n animals as leaders is his new band, you should give it a listen, its incredible

  • @ironcheese1 Thanks for the info. I did...but it was a bit too instrumental for me. I love progressive stuff (like Dillinger and Mastodon and such), but I like vocals too. But as a musician, this guy is awesome. I`ll keep myself updated on his projects/bands.

  • True story: My high school band played with these guys in Michigan (years ago) and I actually played Tosin's Universe 7 string. Kid's a fuckin' monster. He just did an interview in some guitar mag and said the only thing he regrets selling is that guitar. It's crazy to see how far he's come. Complete monster.

  • first time i hear this band but that guitarist is.. amazing. never before seen anyone do something like that too a guitar as a freaking riff, love it.

  • @shumped his name is Tosin Abasi listen to Animals as Leaders

  • tosin>god

  • @Drjebus what a stupid fucking comment to make...u fail so hard

  • 0.0... metal... with a BLACK GUY?!?!?! epic =)

  • I hate when the vocals can ruin a instrumently brilliant song like this. Abasi is amazing tho. I would recomend Aninals as Leaders over this stuff

  • Reflux has got to be the most underappreciated metal band ever to have existed. Right up there with Sikth.

  • lol tosin headbangs funny

  • This album changed my life in so many ways

  • Haha, Ash.

  • tosin was and still is a fucking monster dragon guitar player

  • SYL!!!!!!!!

Why does everyone feel the need to slag off the vocalist? Bit sad imo. Drummer tore the ass out of it tbf

    SYL!!!!!!!!

  • I checked these guys out because of Animals as Leaders, the vocalist is pretty meh but the music isn't terrible for metalcore... Tosin Abasi is a fucking destroyer on guitar.

  • didn't care for the vocals, everything else was sick

  • i love animals as leaders this is great though^^

  • w00t

    :O

  • Tosin Abasi fucking shreds SO much face...

  • awesome.

  • animals as leaders is better

  • its completely different.

  • yeah the sound guy needs shit-canned, this band has potential and he is killn em

  • completely agree
