  • que?

  • speak english or get the fu#$ off!!!!! This is awesome

  • Si hay algo que no tenés que hacer nunca, es cambiar el principio del solo... PETRUCCI AL PAREDÓN

  • 1:40 Toasty!!!

  • @stickyfox Haha, nice find!

  • Petrucci es Dios.

  • Saw this tour in Hollywood! Sooo kick ass! They did four songs together: Comfortably Numb, Take Hold Of The Flame, Peruvian Skies, and Won't Get Fooled Again! Both bands and James/Geoff singing on stage together! My favorite concert encore...ever!

  • I'm a DT fan and a Queensryche fan, mindcrime is still one of the greatest albums ever. Could you imagine if Tate was ever DT's singer. Tate's voice and DT's songs = eargasm

  • gathering of gods

  • Sir David Gilmour must be proud...

  • Watching Petrucci played has officially made me retire from air guitar

  • Petrucci guitar playing is sooo much smoother

  • Muito Foda!

  • super thaooo

  • FAIL!HEY.. AT 1:52 IT´S ..

YOU WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND, THIS IS NOT HOW I AM !!

WHAT A MISTAKE !! We do it better at open mic night!

  • Relax

  • XhibiChise es una insufrible pila de heces.

  • Say what you want about Nick Mason, but he plays exactly what's appropriate for this song. The drumming during the first verse and chorus are atrocious--syncopated bass drum/cymbal hits all over the place, making it sounded really disjointed instead of smooth. He can't decide whether he wants to swing it or play it straight. Don't screw around because you're bored with "boring" parts. If it's not musical, it doesn't belong.

  • Two legendary bands, still < one David Gilmour

  • No "Comfortably Numb" = No "Silent Lucidity" .-)

  • Jeoff Tate>James LaBrie

Mark Portnoy: one of the most skilled drummers in the world and at the same time one of the most limited drummers ever.

    Petrucci the same with guitar.

  • who r the people who disliked this??

  • sorry but not even close Gilmour's voice and solo!

    also agree with @MrRenoBrazil

  • @astharoth1776 You're so right, you took the words right out my mouth.

  • wot can i say no words 2 describe this heaven maybe..........

  • F*ckin' Awesome!

  • HEY.. AT 1:52 IT´S ..

YOU WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND, THIS IS NOT HOW I AM !!

    WHAT A MISTAKE !!

  • "HELLO! is their ANYBODY in there??" "Wake-Up" YOUR Country is being taken-over by Zionist/Jewish Bankers who are deceivingly orchestrating the Whole WORLD-WIDE DEMISE!! The WORLD-WIDE monetary collapse is NOT just a "Coincident!" It's been designed to take TOTAL CONTROL over the Worlds Population! It is called... "The New World (Parasitic) Order!" Read: wake-upbeforeitstoolate(dot)com and see how we have ALL been massively LIED to! Roger Walters Knows this It's called.. "The WALL!"

  • @MaximumPayne12 Sorry, I assumed it was Petrucci because I'm more familiar with Dream Theater than Queensryche, and I'm used to seeing him with long hair, so it looked like him to begin with. Okay, done the necessary research, I amend my previous statement to "Wilton fumbled that first solo." And there's really no need to call me a moron.

  • @Friiiiick Sorry for calling you that, bro. Also you can see Petrucci with short hair performing an awesome solo around 4:38

  • @MaximumPayne12 Yeah, I picked up on that. Googled "John Petrucci 2003" and lo and behold! Short hair. But yeah. His solo kicked ass. Faith in him has been restored. Wish I could say the same for LaBrie though... I've never been the biggest fan of his vocals, and the fact he forgot the lyrics... for shame, for shame.

  • @Friiiiick Hehe yeah, unfortunately James forgot the lyrics but this isn't an official video after all. I'm glad he has performed some bad ass vocals later like in the concert: Score, he kicked serious ass. Also the new DT album is amazing ;)

  • @MaximumPayne12 Ahh, is it? I haven't got it yet, I'm a student and therefore always poor. Spent most of the last of my spare money on Steven Wilson's latest and tickets to Opeth's UK tour. Yeah, LaBrie's a great vocalist, fantastic range and emotion and that, but I've never really been a fan of his tone. Bit nasal for me. Luckily the rest of DT are awesome enough that I can overlook it ;)

  • @MaximumPayne12 dude ive seen both thesse bands live!!! and got a pick from Wilton`!!!

  • Petrucci fumbled that first solo.

  • @Friiiiick he stayed in time and key fuck you

  • @axllovesslash First off, I've already had this discussion with the uploader. I realise that Petrucci nailed his solo, but I thought he was doing the first, not the second. The first solo (done by Mike Wilton) is distinctly fumbled.

  • @Friiiiick Michael Wilton is a guitar god! how dare you! and what do you mean James forgot the lyrics? when? i dont remembere hering that

  • @TrueIronMaidenFan 1:55. He sang "I can't explain, this is not how I am", then mumbled a bit because he realised he'd done it wrong. It's actually "I can't explain, you would not understand, this is not how I am". And I know Wilton's a great guitarist, but he still fumbled it. He completely overbent one note at 2:17, then missed another a couple notes later at 2:20, and missed out a grace note, a slide and a note at 2:32. Trust me, I know that solo back to front.

  • @Friiiiick well i dont know the lyrics that well, im am not a Pink Floyd Fan AT ALL! granted their a very gifted band musicly, just not my type. I saw Wilton live hes amazing. James labrie got 5 words wrong, get over it, all vocal gods mess up sometimes, and his voice is beautiful even on the part he messed up on

  • I am not a follower of either of these bands. I know Queensryche. Never heard of Dream theater. I am a huge fan of covers. I love them and search them out. I will say that this is a very good cover. No doubt. It just goes to show you how many great guitar players and artists that are out there today.

  • Let's not forget who wrote this. No band like PF, that's for sure! Dream Theater is like extreme on the heavy side Floyd, and Radiohead, perhaps, the opposite, the "light" Floyd. You gotta admit, two bands to be an extension of the most beautiful piece of music that lastet from 1967. to 1996.

  • @LastFreeManStanding I like the way you put it, never looked at it from that POV...

  • LOLOLOLOL 1:55 labrie sings wrong o.o

  • WILTON SOLO FAIL. WHERES DEGARMO.

  • 1:55-3:00 FAIL

  • Comment removed

  • Geoff Tate's vocal range makes Labrie seem simply small in comparison. Great work all around, very cool.

  • 2nd gutarist was dead on !

  • @jamesinct ofcourse he's dead on. he's john fuckign petruccci!!!!! too bad labrie diarohhoaed all over the best part of the song . the david gilmour chorus.

  • the singer did a mistake

  • Oh my god I wish I was at this concert. And people say stairway to heaven has the most soul of any guitar solo.

  • im speechless, two of my favorite bands playin my other favorite bands songs.

  • okei, this is one of the best things i"ve heard, yet, when I first saw Tate, I tought he was the father from arrested development :D

  • The guy on the right is the 22nd fret master!!!!

  • dam, who would have thunk, two excellent bands who dont get regular air play but both true Rock bands. Love it.

  • gänsehaut pur ...

  • PInk Tribute! They are Imortals!

  • Dream Theater - 4 virtuosi and a bad karaoke singer. I love them, really, but c'mon man! It must have taken years to find the kind of talent this band has, then they got the first singer that tried out? Does he own the equipment or something?

  • And lo, Petrucci has his inspiration to write As I Am. Rofl

  • This is a great song, but I couldnt help but laugh at 1:50 when I saw Portnoy drumming with one hand, and playing the tambourine in the other, and the hitting the tambourine with his drumstick for a good rhythm. Portnoy simply does not fit in as "background"!!!!!

  • Meh.

They're both good bands, but I'm not feeling the cover.

They fucked up some lyrics, the first solo.

Petrucci really saved it towards the end though.

  • Queensryche sucksssssssssssssssss!!!!

  • Kick Ass !

  • Love Queensryche and DT, but dayum Geoff, mix a salad into your diet. Getting a little pudgy there........

  • We finally reached 500,000 views :D

Thanks everyone for supporting and watching this video! I will upload more soon!

  • didn't like the all the video. matter of fact some parts a extremly out of tune seems like someone in the band was sleeping while playing his instrument. BUT !!!! what fucking hell o solo in the end, it's probably the best cover of the original solo.

  • I guess that the dislikes are only a tribute to pink floyd cos this video is really blowing

  • oh just heard that bit that james fuck up "i cant explain this is not how i am ehh ah

this is not how i am"

  • i reckon labres voice matches the part quite well

  • Petrucci nailed the solo, brilliant, if I was a lady I guarantee you my vagina would have become moist upon listening & watching his fingerbanging action on that axe!

  • 0 58..ups....

  • Karaoke with a capital K

  • ahahaha, yeahh not impressed in the least bit. seen Comfortably Numb live, performed by Roger Waters, this does not compare. sorry dreamtheatre but you should just leave this to the professionals aka The Pink Floyd...

  • oups! 1:58

  • AMAZING. I love this song and to hear Dream Theater contribute to this live version WOW. Best I have ever heard. Geoff Tate is awesome. Petrucci? God on guitar my favorite living guitar player. I know all of his material.

  • I love how neither singer tries to overpower eachother. Especially considering they both originate from bands of bombast. They both know their parts and support each other, Geoff low and James high. I also find James's little messup charming.

  • @cryszofthescots Actually Geoff takes lower part but he provides highs to during the chorus;James takes lower range there. I agree both are awesome!

  • Should've just been Dream Theater playing this. Listen to the way they played all of DSOTM. The guys from Queensryche ruined it for me, especially the outro solo

  • Jeez i felt that way deep down. Beautiful.

  • they shared the vocals brilliantly, both got to use their strenghts

  • Bass is too low.. good work.

  • comfortably numb isnt just one of those songs you can look at a tab/sheet music and expect magic to happen

  • liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiixo

  • Christ, John's sound is like a Panzer tank steamrolling through the stage!

  • 2 of the greatest singers of all time doing the greatest cover of Comfortably Numb ever! Bravo Geoff and James

  • can anyone tell me why the final part of this song/solo, the guitar sounds don`t relate to the guitarists hand movements? it`s acurate until the end then nothing (guitar wise) matches??

  • @inyourdreamsladdie I think Queensryche have two guitarists, so there's probably another dude wailing that the camera doesn't necessarily show!

  • terrible cockup at 1:54.

    oops.

  • this is for the comment about bach and mozart does it accur either one of you that zepplin, pink floyd, the who, among the other greats one day will be catorgorized as classical music?... just a thought.

  • the chorus is magical!

  • lol portnoy at around 3:00

  • It's more than OK. Both bands agreed on a tune they loved and wanted to emulate.

  • This is an ok version, just ok. Nowhere on the same playing field as Pink Floyd IMO. I know David Gilmour is an extremely hard man to try and emulate, but he wasn't even close on the solo. I love the way Gilmour plays, he just let's the guitar notes soar.

  • @AbbeyRoad52 petrucci's notes didn't soar???

  • @PaulGilbertrulezzz It's unfortunately what happens when some people do straight covers. it sounds like he's just playing the notes; not feeling them...

  • I got goosebumps... Micheal Wilton (Queensryche guitarist) looks like he had his brother died since Chris DeGarmo's departure from the band, and it feels like he is really enjoying John Petrucci's company here. Geoff Tate is probably the most underrated but most talented rock-metal singer of all time, maybe after Freddie Mercury. James LaBrie shines when it comes to mellow songs (just listen to Wait for Sleep). Great musicians, great bands, great song, great music. God bless them all.

  • Wow How Awesomely great is this! Geoff Tates Voice is the greatest, i will forgive geoff for his howie mandelll look!. the thing is i love howie mandell but not u geoff!

  • That second solo would've been perfect if he didn't do the towards the end...it makes it more "show-off" than emotional! Atleast that's my opinion

  • so good!

  • 1st solo a lil' shitty but the second its fucking awesome

  • Great Pink Floyd !!!!!!!!!!

  • who's that fucking guy at 4:37, david blaine? coz he's performing magic!

  • best part at 3:03.... no bands play better cover other than dreamtheater.. they got fucking petrucci!!!!

  • Queensryche = Ooo-la-la!!!! Cannot do a bad gig, no matter what they play...

  • Too bad he fucked up the words at 2:00

  • I love both these bands to death, but this cover doesn't evoke the same emotions at the original.

  • Guys i can tell no one on this page has ever went to a pink floyd concert...I have and when the hole band was together...These guys are only a tribute band.. and they love doing Pink Floyd because its easy to play

  • @DWcriticism please stop going over every coversong of pink floyd and saying that it sucks. you find it sucks, i and a lot of other people think it does not. please be accurate. You should say: I THINK it sucks in stead of it sucks. and another thing, not all PF is easy. not for any particular instrument. i thought drums were easy till i had to cover some of the songs. you really have to study.

  • @DWcriticism easy to play? like gilmores solo?

  • HOLY SHIT!!! AMAZING!!

  • SO FACKUNIG GREAT!!!!!

  • LaBrie looks like a bear compared to Geoff lol.

  • James LaBrie sings beauteously.

  • i can't find any CD or DVD from this concert in the shop or the net. Anybody know where i must look? please

  • i am a pink floyd fan too, but i feel really glad that this band cover this song

  • Geoff Tate to James Labrie: "Stand aside boy, let me show you how it's done."

  • @paulthegeek Totaly! hahahahaha

  • @paulthegeek nah, other way around ;)

  • @paulthegeek just based on this song, and this particular time period(2002-2005) James was better then Geoff. but other then that Geoff Tate is better, his voice has made a full recovery, and IMO is the 2nd best rock singer of all time, id say James is #15, which is still good obviously

  • SCREAM!

  • That would explain the Ahhhhhh part in Silent Lucidity that sounds like this song.

  • the guitar players sounds better than the voices.

  • Anytime I listen this song I feel like a god !! Petrucci is so melodic....

  • das is einfach ein geiles stück.....egal von wem es gespielt wird. Von dream theater und queensrychi is das mal hammer.

  • Amazing!!! James Labrie and Geoff tate my two favorite vocalist

  • DT does a few Floyd songs very well......Time for instance.... and the only decent cover anyone has ever done that does justice to an Iron Maiden song is DT doing To Tame A Land

  • Awesome cover!

  • Petrucci > Queensyche guitarrist guy(don't know his name) 100 times.

Petrucci performance is cleaner than the other guy.

    Long Live Pink Floyd!!!

  • @MyBraidon It isnt a fair contest, Petrucci's a robot so obviously he's cleaner :P

  • @NShredz Petrucci is a GOD!!!!

  • Geoff Tate and James Labrie are litterely a 1000 times better then Guilmore and Waters vocaly and Queensryche and Dream Theatre are litterely a 1000 times better of bands then Pink Floyd.

  • @TrueIronMaidenFan That statement may be true in the overall talent department (Petrucci f'n rules, no doubt). But this song is about songwriting skills, and I doubt anyone but Pink Floyd could write this masterpiece. Queens and 'theater might have 1000x better musicians, but 'Floyd has 1000x more album sales and touched 1,000,000,000,000x more souls. Don't get me wrong, man; I'd never rip on a fellow rocker and metal brother, but likey 'Floyd inspired both these great bands! Rawk hard!

  • @j1001s27sw Geoff Tate has said before that his 2 biggest influences are Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford

  • @j1001s27sw Mate you're confused..It's not about sales..It's about talent and inteligence..You can't categorise Pink Floyd.Pink Floyd is not just a rock band like the others..Pink Floyd is something more than that..And it's not an opinion..That's the truth..They are equal to Bach and Mozart..They created their own style in the rock industry and they overruned all the other bands and not only bands!!And how can you say dream theater has better musicians??Better than Gilmour,Waters,Wright,Mason??

  • @dgmj1 Dude, you would have to read the guys comment I replied to to get what I was saying. And no, they are not equal to Bach and Mozart!!! No band or musician is even on par with Bach or Mozart. If someone was even close, such as Frank Zappa or Miles Davis, they are still very very very far away. It certainly would not be a rock band, it would have to be classical or jazz.

  • @j1001s27sw Frank Zappa was close to Bach and Mozart and Pink Floyd was not??What made you come to this conclusion man?I am so curious!!As I said Pink Floyd is not just a rock band..You can't categorise Pink Floyd's music because it's not only rock!!Have you ever listened to "echoes"?Or "sauceful of secrets"?Their music was not only rock. They had classical influences, jazz and blues and they created psychedelic music!!That's why I'm saying that they are equal to Bach and Mozart.

  • @dgmj1 I'm familiar with all Pink Floyd albums as I am also a fan. As well as a fan of Bach cello suites, all of Frank Zappa and the Mothers, and Miles Davis. And you misread; even the closest musicians are still very very very far away from Bach and Mozart.

  • @j1001s27sw Ok I don't want to argue with you..You have an opinion and I have mine..The important thing is that we like good music such as Floyd and Dream Theater..And Miles Davis of course!!

  • @TrueIronMaidenFan I think you are liying to yourself mate!!You see Pink Floyd is the biggest band ever and maybe something more..And it's not an opinion..it's the truth!!!The guys here are doing a very good job covering the best guitar solo ever made and one of the best songs ever made..But that's all...When you're thinking of Pink Floyd your mind goes directly to the influence their music had,has and will have..Not only in the rock music but in the history of music!!And it's Gilmour!!

  • @TrueIronMaidenFan

So why Pink Floyd never did a DT or QR cover?

And Gilmour is even 1000 times more precise in execution than Petrucci, if you don't think so just listen to any live of comfortably numb and compare to this one. I recommend Pulse.

  • @Sledr1994 Man i think so...in 60' 70' 80' EVEN 90' THE EFFECTS Were maded by amplificators not fuKKing pedals ^^.That show who is an trully talented guitaris or who is just an guitarist :D.Anyway DT is the cosest to Perfection ;) RESPECT! (sry for my english) :D

  • 1:58 lol nice recovery James :P

  • .... Best cover ever. Even better than the original ....

  • Don't understand why ANYONE'S gender has ANYTHING to do with enjoying a performance that you like.?? Does someone's preference in sexual activities determine whether or not they are a good enough artist? "Ignorance and Prejudice"..."and fear walk hand in hand!"...

  • This wreaks of awesomeness!!!!!!

  • AWESOMENICITY

Not sure if it's proper english, but that sure is proper music

  • i first thought he was Rob Halford...hahaha..

  • @quesopilipinas41 the only way i could tell it was rob halford was the fact that if it was rob then he'd probably have a huge cock in his ass doing some judas priest screams

  • @dkennedy31326 your moms black dick is so far up your ass that cum is oozing out your tone def ears you trailer trashed douch bag! Rob Halford and Judas Priest are amazign!

  • @TrueIronMaidenFan i never said they sucked. rob's got a great metal voice but he openly takes it up the ass just like freddy mercury. don't make assumptions and don't get your panties in a wad over somebody you don't know.

  • @dkennedy31326 i find it sick you have something against gay people, its not their fault! and Freddie was also an incredible singer

  • @KhazFendi yes!!

  • At 5:04 I imagined adam02's voice, like "Ok, that's how you do it noobs" xD

  • Bald does not suit Geoff Tate.

  • Petrucci is a genius

  • brividi!!

  • amazing...

  • lol he fucked up the lyrics at 1:54, still awesome though :D

  • Interesante cover de Comfortably Numb por Dream Theater y Qheensryche, Petrucci si supera al otro lirero por mucho

  • Can`t have been many pies left backstage!

    pair of fat fuckers

  • @MrDweb Yeah, let's hate them for being overweight, and just ignore their exceptional talent!

  • @MrDweeb uh huh, a pair of financially well off fat fuckers that've made some very good music. This is about the music and your dumbass mentions their weight. lmao. Now s t f u , go upstairs outta the basement and get some more twinkies yourself, you jackwagon.

  • The best song around a world....Amazing replay...

  • the queensryche guitar players play like shit

  • @stratocat74 I would like to see you up there on stage in front of 50,000+ fans, playin a song made famous by opink floyd themselves, I never saw what your talkin about on how queensryche played the song, I think they played it perfect, dream theater did a few parts that was'nt originally in the song, but both bands still played extrememly great.

  • @flubber342 Ok,...like shit was a little to much. But if you listen close enough, they very often play wrong notes, got timing problems and somehow they have got a very nervous tone.Im only talking about the solo parts.

As soon as Petrucci starts playing it feels much more controled and tastefull,blablabla...

Anyway,I have seen Queensryche back in 91(in front of 50000)and they were brilliant.

  • pretty good job, if you ask me. :P i love Pink Floyd, Dream Theater and Queensryche
