So I was singing this song in class again, and this girl says he singing "our song", obviously theres no way she heard of this song till I brought it up, so how the hell does she get off saying its their song?
Tomorrow will be Joe D's 96th birthday.I've just examined his streak with regard to starters.
Joe faced several starters three times each-a common happening in an 8 team league.18 times a starter went the distance.8 times he went 8 innings.Another 7 games,he went 7.So in 33 of the games he faced a starter probably four times;something that doesn't happen very often in today's game.To balance that somewhat, three times he got hits in five inning games.
With the way the game is played today, this record should stand forever.Joe got the chance to hit off of a lot of tiring starters(True, everyone else in his area did so as well;only Sisler got to 44).
I would have to have seen how long Jimmy Rollins could have gone on had not the season ended in 2005.He had everything going for him;leadoff hitter who didn't walk ,on a good hitting team playing well,a switch hitter with speed, plus an attitude that most great players have.
Just heard this song from Seinfeld. Really like it! I love the sounds of that era.

Does anyone realize if Joe had just got 1 hit that night in Cleveland...
Combined with the streak he had AFTER that night...
he number would've been 73 STRAIGHT GAMES?! :O
That's nearly half the whole season!

56 will probably last forever.

Hey, why didn't you give us the whole record? Just because it has a skip in the record, no need to abort the proceedings, huh?
