  • Just heard this song from Seinfeld. Really like it! I love the sounds of that era.

  • Here because of Seinfeld. Right =)

  • Does anyone realize if Joe had just got 1 hit that night in Cleveland...

Combined with the streak he had AFTER that night...

he number would've been 73 STRAIGHT GAMES?! :O

That's nearly half the whole season!

  • Kramer just saw him in Dinky donnuts :D

  • Betty Jane Bonney with Les Brown & His Orchestra

  • who is the girl on vocals

  • One of Major League Baseball's records that will never been broken...

  • He is so ugly he could be a modern art masterpice....

  • @mkraner1 ....he got marilyn monroe...so got fuck yourself....

  • @Nick34Ca559 marilyn monroe's favourite husband and the one person that really cared about her

  • @TheDaleDenton true....he would send flower's to her grave for 20 years or so after she passed.....

  • @TheDaleDenton he sure didn't care about her black friends and darn sure didn't care about Mickey Mantle

  • I dont think anyone will beat his record. Im young and didnt even realize joe could hit for power too. His BA is awesome

  • 17 not 18 game hitting streak

  • Greqat vid! Thanks for posting!

  • So I was singing this song in class again, and this girl says he singing "our song", obviously theres no way she heard of this song till I brought it up, so how the hell does she get off saying its their song?

  • Ethier up to 24 ... hes coming for you Joe !!

  • I saw Joe Dimaggio a Dinky Dounuts!

  • @gvalley07 Seinfeld, Great!

  • Tomorrow will be Joe D's 96th birthday.I've just examined his streak with regard to starters.

Joe faced several starters three times each-a common happening in an 8 team league.18 times a starter went the distance.8 times he went 8 innings.Another 7 games,he went 7.So in 33 of the games he faced a starter probably four times;something that doesn't happen very often in today's game.To balance that somewhat, three times he got hits in five inning games.

    56 will probably last forever.

  • Hey, why didn't you give us the whole record? Just because it has a skip in the record, no need to abort the proceedings, huh?

  • With the way the game is played today, this record should stand forever.Joe got the chance to hit off of a lot of tiring starters(True, everyone else in his area did so as well;only Sisler got to 44).

I would have to have seen how long Jimmy Rollins could have gone on had not the season ended in 2005.He had everything going for him;leadoff hitter who didn't walk ,on a good hitting team playing well,a switch hitter with speed, plus an attitude that most great players have.

  • The world has a lot to thank America for - and Joe DiMaggio is one them!

  • @parker00pen the world doesn't even know who Joe DiMaggio was...

  • @lkrnpk Havent heard of him!! Then you must live in Russia or China. Ha hah!

  • He is way out of my time im only 24 but I do love this song. I will have to do some research to find out what made him so great

  • I have this on vinyl (78). Thanks for posting it here, since I don't have a player to listen to it on.

  • Best song ever about Baseball. Funny and swinging and about one of the underappreciated alltime greats

  • Cool song, I miss Joltin' Joe
