So what do we have? Attorney drinks a bit too much (perhaps a little drug use?); drives intoxicated; gets into an accident; fails to report it; leaves car (and scene of crime); comes to court hungover and talks his way into a hole? If my understanding is correct, is that what we are supposed to presume happened here? If I were him, I'd keep my mouth closed. Just sayin', he didn't help himself.
@RobertLeabo Nevermind-- re-watched and got that she wasn't charging him. I was sort of zoning out while watching the video; between his nonsensical rant and the poor quality of the video, it was hard for me to follow.
Hmmm? Perhaps this is a good argument for trap doors underneath attorney's chairs! When the judge has heard enough crap from an attorney-ZAP! Press the button-buh-bye Mr/Ms Attorney!!
This judge has the patience of a saint! I wish I had half of her patience! Most judges would have thrown him under the jail! This guy was extremely lucky!
I hope this was the attorney's bottom. What a nightmare. Once he begins treating his disease instead of letting his disease treat him he won't have to go through humiliations like this one anymore.
Damn, he lost his grandmother two weeks ago and then rear ended in his Audi this morning and left his car on the side of the road. The only thing missing is the robbery of his documents. For a lawyer, this guy doesn't know when to shut up. I wonder if he was a court appointed lawyer for this defendant.
This judge is being super tight about it.. The guy can't even come up with a straight story.. He would have been so much better off just telling the truth she probably wouldn't have done anything.
if i was going 4 life i would want a judge to stick up 4 me instead of relying on my atourney to point that out but it also prooves that all the important people are discussing the case on a personal level judge stated he was in her presence the night before
"Go aheaad and blow." But, judge, he already did that throughout the night aand the morning, that's the problem - too much BLOW! Bwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
So the judge has probably incarcerated a lot of people for DWI but now that it's a member of the court, she only wants to help him? He was probably working again the next week because of all the back door schmoozing going on.
BWAHAHAH This is just so epic. The funniest thing is that he probably would have been fine if he had just kept his mouth shut to begin with instead of constantly volunteering all kinds of information over and over haha
''philosophically I'd never call 911''? Sure it wouldn't take much to re-consider your position on those philosophies: house burning down maybe? Burglar in your house? etc etc. How does a completer moron end up becoming a lawyer?
@geoffhang10 ~~ you ~ got it ~ he did everything above !!! Boy does he know how to make up things as he goes are what ??? hahaha !! ~~ I think he should of saved he stupid ass and call in sick daaaaaaaaaa !!! ^_^
I think we've all experienced the deadly and never ending web that lying can cause, but I imagine most of us that have experienced it in our pre-teen years. I think this tape should be shown in schools and maybe even church as a deterrent to kids and the danger and just utter stupidity of lying.
Wow. What possesses him to now shut the fuck up and agree? The evidence against him is overwhelming, even if he is intoxicated, I thought he would have just conceded. But no.
The client is risking a life sentence for kidnapping (as one commenter informed us of)?!! Kidnapping is a bad crime but can't see how that warrants life in prison. Anyone knows what crime he committed?
As a lawyer, he should have known the law and he should have asked for a lawyer. The fact that the judge said she has never had a lawyer, being that she probably is a lawyer herself, shows that even women lie even when lawyers. If this case was a mistrial because the lawyer was drunk, well, isn't that a good defense? Might the suspect now have an argument that as it stand now he can't a fair trial? Brilliant!
This guy should be disbarred. If he weren't a lawyer he would have been arrested after 60 seconds. Perfect example of how lawyers protect each other. The Judge was trying every way she could to find a way out for this guy. Even the cops thought he was going to be arrested, moved forward, then she keep talking. Disbar the SOB.
@1980PintoMan As stated in the past videos, she was building a case to get him disbarred because of his actions in court. She wasn't finding a way out for him. She was talking him into oblivion.
Most amazing thing is that the Nevada bar *still* let the guy keep practicing. Unbelievable. The amount of corruption required to disbar a Las Vegas lawyer probably outweighs the total corruption in most third world countries.
@tberg323 he failed. .08 is to drive a car. .00 is to try a case. He admitted to drinking that day. At the office 4:00 am and when he got home. He was drinking before the case. FAIL. He brought a hooker to court. FAIL.
they should not fire him yet but start by putting him in the drunk tank for a couple hours, then send him to the next AA meeting. Even alchies need a second chance.
@cellowww Thanks. I found that article after spending a little bit of researching. I showed this video to all my co-workers (police), we all laughed and wanted to be court officers for stuff like this.
@td84 its shocking how this video was just the tip of the iceberg for this guy, he later confessed being into cocaine AND booze. The judge was really noble spending almost 4 hours trying to understand the issue and finally helping the man.
I quit being a lawyer in Brasil due to our justice system being sssoooooooo slow. Some lawsuits can take up to 20 years, EASILY.
@cellowww I think the judge wanted to have the hearing retried, because if the judge continued the defense would file for a mistrial and possibly file a complain against the judge for misconduct.
