I think there's an analogue poly in there as well? Sounds almost like Vangelis, could be a CS80? Did the BBC Radiophonic workshop have one of those beasts??
Yeah, there's definitely an analog synth in there along with the DX-7. Could be the CS-80 as Peter Howell did use that in a lot of his scores. Nicely spotted :)
I loved the sounds the Radiophonic Workshop used on the Yamaha DX7 especially the DX7 preset "Wasp Sting" that Roger Limb used on great effect on Revelation of the Daleks.
A few years ago I recieved an email from one of the Radiophonic Workshop musicians Jonathan Gibbs. They went to California to meet Dr. John Chowning (creator of FM synthesis) and were impressed with Chowning's demo of the DX7 they instantly bought six of them for the Radiophonic Workshop.
I dont have a DX7 myself (just an SH 101, and a Poly 800.) but I was listening to the patch demos, and and instantly recognised that patch from Revelation of the Daleks.
I have loads of other stuff from the Radiophonic Workshop that I may upload as well.
That's the famous FM Bass preset also used by Howard Jones
