If the song don't won... it is in the heart of many people... I wonder where is now Jean Jacques? Where does he live, or if he still sing? I listened this song on 1969 and I loved the same I still love it... =:)
Eurovision Song Contest is a great tournament, I love it but...WHY DO ALL THE COUNTRIES GIVE POINTS TO THEIR NEIGHBOURS??For example: Greece to Cyprus, Poland to Russia and Ukraine, Germany to Turkey or Croatia to Albania, Bosnia to Macedonia and so on...It should be prohibited. It's every year like that and it's going to be boring because everyone can predict which country is going to give points
You're SO right! But it's only become like that with televoting. The jury system was always fair and neighbour-appreciation practically unheard-of. Televoting has ruined that.
The only argument you're gonna get from me on that was 1997, when I think Cyprus's entry is wonderful (and it was indeed my favourite then). The other ones, however, were kind of out-of-the-blue (especially 1992, I mean seriously, were they listening to the same Swiss entry?), though the Cypriot entry in 1989 wasn't bad.
Littli Islenski I think you're being a little a little naive. I suggest that televoting has made the neighbour voting thing more pronounced. Think back to a conversation we had about a mid 60s contest when you wondered why the audience sniggered at the Finnish vote (if my memory is correct).
You are sadly right, I was watching Eruvision last night and the broadcaster predicted almost all the votes, basing it on the previous years results... People should vote the best song, not their neighbours.
I don't people vote for their neighbour just because it's their neighbour. They share culture and often linguistic similarities. The song your neighbour writes sounds a lot like one YOU would have written.
I disagree, all the music styles are equally present in every country (if we don't take into account their native music). for example: I hate most of the songs my country shows in Eurovision, and often, they have nothing to do with the songs of our neighbour countries.
Sorry to spoil the party - according to the official history of Eurovision he was 12. And although yes a very confident performance (regardless of age) I find it an "ok" song.
Thanks for correcting us all, lewis (spoiler!). I have already corrected the info on my video description, so no need to worry for me spreading downright lies (lol).
You're right Tasos, impressive performance by an 11-year old, however the song isn't amazing Imo. And thank you so much for the really AMAZING quality!!
Yes, indeed, one of my biggest favourites from that year. Both a fabulous melody and orchestration and what an emotional performance from such a young performer.
este niño debio de ganar el sertamen de Eurovision, fue la mejor cancion :)

he had a strong voice back then. Who knows if he's still singing. But now, they have the Junior Eurovision Contest for people under the age of 18.
FlavioGirl 3 years ago
He is not singing at the moment, because he died in 1970. One year after Eurovision.
EurovisionParody 2 years ago
That's sad that he died so young. How did he die? :(

Yes it's true. He died in a trafic accident.

Yeah like the Icelandic jury giving out from nowhere 12 points to Cyprus 89 and 97 and Switzerland in 92 that received a big shock from the audience.
