@romangirl88 -- What do you mean, "Focus on films?" Benedict is a classically trained British actor, and the British tend to consider stage work as superior to film, even though films pay more. The theater is where most British actors hone their craft and probably explains why they tend to be better actors than Americans whose claims to fame, more often than not, is little more than their looks.
@debdessaso I think she was simply saying that she wants to see him in more films because stage is not as accessible to people who don't live near the staging. No need to make generalizations about American actors - in fact, any actors (mostly friends in drama school) I've met here are more interested in stage than film...that's a pretty universally-held opinion.
@debdessaso Well Kate WInslet and Hugh Laurie had zero training in theatre, and still don't haha...but you should know that there is a massive difference between theatre and film acting...they all required different skills....and sometimes actors from film can not transfer it on to stage...However I do still agree...European actors or American actors influenced by europe are usually better actors than most American actors. :) Generally that is.
