It's been about 16 months since I started my first painting, but I did acrylic back then. It's been 10 months with oils. On and off of course. I'm about to start a new one soon though.
I've tried the whole planning thing, and mapping out what goes where, but the turn out is never as good as spontaneously slapping clouds and rocks everywhere. It's a mystery to me too haha.

No, the only Ross product I use is his Magic White, which I've barely ever touched. I use Winsor and Newton paints.
