@GoldenOnyx17 If you've seen the movies, then you know that in the hall of prophecies, Harry's said that he would have the power to kill He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Voldy knew this because when Professor Trelawney was interviewing for a job at Hogwarts, Snape overheard and told You-Know-Who (Snape was a Death Eater at the time). Though it is said that Neville could have been the Chosen One, Harry Potter ended up as the chosen one because Voldy attempted to kill him and couldn't.
