Bush is just the organ grinder's monkey. The candidates the media has endorsed are wannabes. Mike Gravel is his own person and he is not a slave to his own ideology, religious or otherwise. Nor does he want to impose his own beliefs on others. He just wants to make some positive changes that also empower people and prevent further unnecessary destruction.
There is a product called switch grass (or something like that) that can yield 40 times more ethanol gas per acer of land then corn. The giant corn companies want subsidies on corn when you accurately get almost no energy gained in return. Switch grass needs almost no care and 2 crops of it can grow per season. That is the only real direction ethanol should go in.

This video is a great example of why Mike Gravel never got much attention. He starts a video talking about why he's not in Iowa and quickly starts talking about not only why he would lose in Iowa but also rants on the evils of ethanol. He comes off, unfortunately, sounding like a raving, ranting ex-Senator instead of someone who could be President.

I'm a Ron Paul supporter but i think Mike Gravel is honest, courageous and right on a number of issues. Ron Paul and Mike Gravel are the types of candidates that should be the front runners. Instead, we have middle of the road pandering charlatans that don't really understand what it means to stand up and fight for real change. I salute you Mike Gravel. The world needs more people like you in it.
Sen. Gravel is an honarable man who speaks the truth. This country is run by large corporations, and the federal reserve system. The mass media is complicit with the propaganda arm of this dictatorship. They won't allow Sen. Gravel to be heard. He may upset the apple cart. What a shame!
Mike, I am a Canadian but I know that you are much needed in the world during these times. Even if you don't make the Democrat ballot, PLEASE don't dwindle away! Being President is just a title, after all: you are an inspiration, and there is much work to be done!
I also like Dennis Kucinich, however he really disappointed me by telling all his supporters to vote for Obama if he didn't make the ballot. In that case he might as well be saying "I'm not popular enough, vote for this guy instead." X(
Morning all, from your friendly Iowa Caucus goer. Last night I was the only person out of 186 standing up for Mike for my election ward. Soooo sad. But then, only four were there for Kucinich. Even worse, M and K show up as "0" because they lacked delegate numbers.
Thank you for being the lone sane voice in a crowd of sheep! Mike is truly the best candidate, it's a shame that more people aren't paying attention...
Yes, most people think their civic duty consists of voting for one of the mainstream media approved candidates. The Democratic party has been complicit in silencing both Gravel first and then Kucinich. The only WASTED vote is a vote for a media anointed candidate. Spend your vote wisely. The quality of our future depends on it.
I saw it televised; a woman decided that those for any candidate other than the 'top three' must reallocate for they were not substantial enough. Then they have the nerve to list those candidates with zero percent support when people could not support them. I saw one man who said that nobody should have to abandon their first choice before a count is even made. Thank him for having integrity.
They also lied and said Gravel had dropped out. They can't possibly have actually believed that.
Actually, it's 15% of the total people attending in order to be documented at all. With 186 people at my caucus, a group had to have at least 28 people (15%)in it to be "viable." So even if I there were 27 people for Gravel, we still would have registered as "0." Outrageous! The Republicans counted EVERY choice and that's how it should be!
The Democrats believe if they narrow the field down to one candidate as quickly as possible, they will win because they can consolidate money and put out more focused political ads. Never mind what you or I think about who should be the candidate! Unfortunately, they will simply run more Democrats out of their party. I'm going wherever Gravel leads.
The strategy you mention makes sense, but it totally undermines the democratic process, doesn't it? Grassroots democracy has effectively been eliminated. The system is broken at the micro as well as the macro level. We the people have our hands tied.
If you support what Mike Gravel is doing, his campaign, the National Initiative, please help him become OUR MILLION DOLLAR MAN by President's Day, January 21st, 2008! Please donate. Show your love!!!

I never even stated such a notion. I do like Paul. I think he is more likely to endorse Dennis than Paul if he ever did decide to drop out. I meant the question because I thought MSNBC was telling the truth.
Greetings, Mike. Thanks for you input, but I think you underestimate Iowan's potential for positively receiving your message. I'm going to tonight's caucus, and while doing some last minute research on candidates, had my first real exposure to you. As a result, I'm going in supporting you. But I'm not very optimistic about finding others in my (and your!) camp, due completely to your lack of exposure here and the huge exposure of the other candidates. Wish me luck!!!!!

Mike, you should endorse Ron Paul! You guys agree on MANY things, and he has a much better chance of getting the Republican nomination then you have getting the Democrat nomination. With that said, if I were a democrat, I'd vote for you, Mike!
Ron Paul is not like Mike Gravel. They may share some views on certain issues, but overall, they are completely different candidates. For example, Mike Gravel supports abortion rights while Ron Paul doesn't.
Future historians writing of our times will record the name of Mike Gravel on the honor role of true patriots who served their country with honor and distinction. The sincerity and honesty he exhibits set him apart from lesser mortals.
Mike has a plan for America and future generations. The other candidates have plans to advance themselves only.Money get candidates debate exposure and support to become President. If the criteria to become President was honesty and integrity Mike would be President without any real challenge from anyone. He has introduced dignity in to this Election race people will long remember.
Mike is really the only hope to "clean" up America. All the other candidates are corporate stooges. Nothing will change. The National innitiative is the best hope for democracy around the world. At least it's a step in the right direction. As it is America is an imperialist nation headed by corporate leadership. Money buys the politicians. Are people really so stupid as to keep electing these rich pricks that keep effing them over?
Where I am the virgin forest was cut in the '20s and crap pine trees for paper have been planted. 25 years to maturity & it makes a huge mess when they are harvested.
Then to the poisonous paper mill, where when the wind is righ you can smell it for 40 miles.
I could grow hemp year round most years & I bet I could make more off of 20 acres of hemp in 25 years than the $13K the trees are worth.
"The price of corn in Mexico is starving people and putting small farmers out of business as the "free trade market" is growing corn to sell for fuel."
And where do those starving people do? They come across the border in droves.
The USA 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo paid $15 million for states of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Mexico had refused to take $30 million for these territories before the war. Also, the debts Mexico govn owed to US citizens were paid off. Total deal $18.25 million. Texas, of course, is another story.
man. No other candidate even talks about energy hardly at all. much less exposes the corrupt corporate bastards that thrust us into these disastrous decisions. Mike you truly are a blessing on this great nation.
Mike..you are just amazing. When I run at some point for office...you will be my mentor. I believe in everything you stand for and will continue your legacy when I am able to be in a position like you.
We need to change the election system in America so that people like Gravel can actually have a fair chance. People are too afraid to vote for some of the little guys for fear that it's a "wasted vote." We need to change the election system to something else, preferential ballots, condorcet method, I don't really know, anything to make it fair because it certainly isn't right now.
I think this is something the American people can figure out and then get government to implement this new system even if it means counting paper ballots. Where are the social entrepreneurs who are willing to take this on? We cannot wait for the govn to do it for us.
Google "Electoral Procedure by state" and get back to me.
If you want to "DO". Personally, i've found it to be pretty easy to support both the election of Mike Gravel AND the adoption of direct democracy, but think the former would be a tad more meaningful if i had an actual vote afforded by the later.
Perhaps Kucinich and Gravel supporters should contact Howard Dean who is asking Democratic supporters to sign a loyalty oath to support whoever win Dem nomination, that we will boycott voting for party unless Kucinich and Gravel are given support from party.
I'm glad you said something. I never favored ethanol fuel much, since it's corrosive. But I never thought about the resources necessary for making ethanol.
Mr. Gravel, you are so right! California spent millions of dollars on ethanol only to discover what you just said: it was a waste of money! We need your maglev trains! Rock on, Mr. Gravel. You give me and so many others hope for a better future for Americans and America!!!
Your probably one of the only Democrats I ever liked. It's a shame that your campaign is reduced to this level where you can't travel to Iowa meanwhile Hillary has 50X more resources more than yourself and has obviously bought her spot, go socialism!!!
He's a capitalist but a nouveau capitalist a la Louis Kelso! That is definitely NOT the same as socialism. Please read and learn more before you start throwing out the isms. They really don't contribute much to understanding but they do contribute to MISunderstanding.
President Mike Gravel, we need to construct a logic that will describe the neccesary language to vividly relate to the experience of all americans. We all believe that we are different, but as always all our needs have always been the same.
12000 gallons of water for one gallon of oil!!! that is insane!! Why dont we just legalize hemp??? O' yeah, I forgot, that would give people control over their own lives, we cannt have that.

Mike, you should endorse Ron Paul! You guys agree on MANY things, and he has a much better chance of getting the Republican nomination then you have getting the Democrat nomination. With that said, if I were a democrat, I'd vote for you, Mike!
cmanw 4 years ago
Ron Paul is not like Mike Gravel. They may share some views on certain issues, but overall, they are completely different candidates. For example, Mike Gravel supports abortion rights while Ron Paul doesn't.

Mike I hope you can pull off a miracle here. America needs you if it is to survive.

Mike, never ever stop. You have the eyes and ears of the country's youth on you. Let it continue beyond the campaign.

I love you Mike. I wish the people were smart enough to vote for you.

I would like to hear Gravel talk about the alternatives of switch grass and hemp.
Iowa could group hemp and that would be very profitable and sustainable with a fraction of the energy/water needs.
gmfutube 4 years ago 5
Not only does ethanol use far too much in resources - it is already creating a human problem.
The price of corn in Mexico is starving people and putting small farmers out of business as the "free trade market" is growing corn to sell for fuel.
Anyone who has ever grown even a small patch of corn should know what a crap idea it is to use for fuel on a large scale.
gmfutube 4 years ago 5
yes mman couldnt agree more with u ...
hemp is basically the future of ecology...
hemp can replace the cuttin of the forest.. no more harm to the earth...
Hemp can be used for clothing, fuel even for cans!!!
how much does a tree needs to grow? 10 years?
how much does it take to grow hemp? 6 MONTHS!!!
cada420 4 years ago 3

FAIR TRADE not free trade.
BonzoGal1980 4 years ago 3
Exactly!
that is what upsets me the most about the immigration issue...
The few are screwing working people in both places. Rather than seeing that, many Americans want to do no more than blame the other, poorer victims.
Shame.
Mexico is dealing with a swell of immigrants from south of them - where the US has been helping the powerful stomp on people for decades.
gmfutube 4 years ago
The USA 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo paid $15 million for states of California, Nevada, Utah, and parts of Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico, and Wyoming. Mexico had refused to take $30 million for these territories before the war. Also, the debts Mexico govn owed to US citizens were paid off. Total deal $18.25 million. Texas, of course, is another story.
gravelin08 4 years ago
Yes, ethanol is a disasterously bad idea for energy. Glad you pointed this out.
atypicalguy 4 years ago 3
This is why Ron Paul isn't an option.
Ron Paul has faith in corporations or his loving name for it, "the private sector".
While Gravel see's the corprates dirty games a mile away and calls them on it. And he truts the people. Not the corporations.
Gravel 2008.

Mike, a lot of us Ron Paul supporters really like you as well. You're a straight talker and a patriot!

man. No other candidate even talks about energy hardly at all. much less exposes the corrupt corporate bastards that thrust us into these disastrous decisions. Mike you truly are a blessing on this great nation.

It's up to you man, you've done it on YouTube, now its up to you get Sen. Gravel above that viability threshold in your caucus.

MIKE GRAVEL FOR PRESIDENT!
HughieGphiladelphia 4 years ago 7
We need to change the election system in America so that people like Gravel can actually have a fair chance. People are too afraid to vote for some of the little guys for fear that it's a "wasted vote." We need to change the election system to something else, preferential ballots, condorcet method, I don't really know, anything to make it fair because it certainly isn't right now.
BraunB4Brain 4 years ago 3
I think this is something the American people can figure out and then get government to implement this new system even if it means counting paper ballots. Where are the social entrepreneurs who are willing to take this on? We cannot wait for the govn to do it for us.

BobForehead 4 years ago 2
Please don't just wish - DO
gravelin08 4 years ago
Google "Electoral Procedure by state" and get back to me.
If you want to "DO". Personally, i've found it to be pretty easy to support both the election of Mike Gravel AND the adoption of direct democracy, but think the former would be a tad more meaningful if i had an actual vote afforded by the later.

Truth! Kucinich and Gravel in 2008!
cowdude 4 years ago 2
Perhaps Kucinich and Gravel supporters should contact Howard Dean who is asking Democratic supporters to sign a loyalty oath to support whoever win Dem nomination, that we will boycott voting for party unless Kucinich and Gravel are given support from party.
gravelin08 4 years ago 4
I'm glad you said something. I never favored ethanol fuel much, since it's corrosive. But I never thought about the resources necessary for making ethanol.
What is your take on other alternative fuels?
joewrotehaikus 4 years ago
go mike go.....
photofu 4 years ago
Mr. Gravel, you are so right! California spent millions of dollars on ethanol only to discover what you just said: it was a waste of money! We need your maglev trains! Rock on, Mr. Gravel. You give me and so many others hope for a better future for Americans and America!!!

True American leaders of our time!

Your probably one of the only Democrats I ever liked. It's a shame that your campaign is reduced to this level where you can't travel to Iowa meanwhile Hillary has 50X more resources more than yourself and has obviously bought her spot, go socialism!!!
ioniancat 4 years ago 2
He's a capitalist but a nouveau capitalist a la Louis Kelso! That is definitely NOT the same as socialism. Please read and learn more before you start throwing out the isms. They really don't contribute much to understanding but they do contribute to MISunderstanding.

President Mike Gravel, we need to construct a logic that will describe the neccesary language to vividly relate to the experience of all americans. We all believe that we are different, but as always all our needs have always been the same.
