i dont know what shaolin breathing he is doing, but he's exhalling through his mouth shaolin is all in the nose his chest is xpanding, wrong shaolin breath with the diaphram, so it would be expansion in the abdomen, also no noise
I pulled it off in 3:32. I did 40/20/10/10/10/5/5. Man, back in grade 8 I would have killed this, I had the recoed in my class at 91 pushups in one minute. Mind you, I weighed about 90 lbs and had very thin legs.
@hydrojin7 - I work out plenty, my friend, and I'm not necessarily criticizing him anyway. I'm just a little surprised since his reputation is pretty good. Regardless, do you automatically assume I am a kid because I disagree with you? Can't there be an argument without one side trying to blast the others credibility. You claim I am a kid and I don't workout, neither of which do you have any knowledge. You do not know, do not presume to know me.
@180Patrick360 I apologize to everyone for beating a dead horse, but i believe you were the one to assume Martin Rooney, or even frankie should be able to clear 100 push ups without breaking a sweat.
"supposedly high level MA coach" It's MMA btw. And grow up kid.
@hydrojin7 - Heh, you can call me a kid if you like, but it only makes you seem like one. Kids hurl insults and patronizing names at each other, but mature adults shouldn't. You do not give me the impression of being a mature adult.
@hydrojin7 - I did not say that Rooney or Frankie should be able to clear 100 push ups without breaking a sweat. I was surprised that Frankie had to cheat to make the last few reps and I was surprised that Rooney didn't call that cheating. My expectations of Rooney were probably slightly unrealistic. Also, you misquoted me. I said, "...is supposed to be..." not "is supposedly high level MA coach." Again, I do not mean any personal insult to Rooney.
Nice, but there's still room for improvements with technique. You didn't lock out your elbows in the first couple sets and you could have gone lower without dropping your head.
@hydrojin7 - well, it's not really Martin's push ups that annoy me, but Frankie's (another video). I know people who can do hundreds of push ups (more then 100+), and it just seems to me that Frankie should be able to pull off 100 without cheating. Don't look at me for a video, though, because I'm not an athlete being training by a supposedly high level MA coach. I never said I could do more then 100. No offense intended toward Martin.
@180Patrick360 So if you are not an athlete, or a coach of any sort, how do you assume that an elite athlete should be mandated to perform 100 push ups in a row? If you're trying to make any sort of claim, name just 3 top athletes to EVER LIVE that can perform 100 push ups in a row.
@hydrojin7 - I am an athlete, I'm just not being trained by a high level coach like Frankie. Any athletes who do not compete in the push-up sport are not training the push up for that. They are using the push up to increase they playing ability in their given sport, and I understand that. It is not necessary for a good athlete to be able to perform 100 push ups in a row; however, with a little training, 100 push ups is a cinch. I do not need to name elite athletes for this.
This workout is pretty damn awesome, Rooney and all the guys he collaborates with known their stuff. The first time I did this I got 3:50, now I'm alitle under 3 minutes, try doing it twice in one day that makes it even harder, I think doing this circuit is about the equivalent of doing 200 pushups regularly.

I won a push up challenge at Balleys DT Milwaukee, WI. 111 in 60sec. It's hugely a mental game.

I just completed it in 2:29. Not to shabby. I weigh 165 pounds. I went 50/20/10/10/5/5. The last 5 were really hard.

Martin Rooney is supposed to be a very good martial arts coach, but he can't do 100 push ups in a row? What's up with that?

question: why do pushups using "the perfect pushup" make them so much harder?
id be great to see you shoot a video with those for comparison.
