YES this is a TRUE STORY!!! Chester's story is incredible....he was discovered by the SDSU players, walked on, started every game the year he walked on and was drafted...INCREDIBLE! He is one of the nicest people I have had the privledge of working with and is an amazing example to others around him. I was so excited to see his commercial as I was sitting at the Super Bowl in Arizona! Great Job Chester!

It's not an easy instrument in the sense of tuning. It's the 3rd hardest next to French Horn and bassoon. (I'm not including stringed instruments, I don't know their level of difficulties...)

I'm going to weigh in on the oboe/not-oboe debate here. After listening for awhile and consulting my score for Brandenburg No. 2 I think that during the orchestral part the melody is actually played by three different instruments at various parts of the commercial--Oboe, violin, and trumpet.

The commercial is a wonderful public service illustrating that athletes can and do have other talents, and that musicians --- even classical, can have athetic talents, as well. And, for a guy who likely has not picked up his oboe in several years, Chester did not so too bad..... I wonder how good he sounded when he was playing regularly ..... I am assuming his football contract bans him from "dangerous activities", such as making his own reeds. Bravo Chester Pitts!
