"Disciplinary." Pffft! They make it sound like she's some child that needs to be handled rather than a fully grown woman that has nothing keeping her to them.
@Rhys051777 Very sad. It's hard to believe that in this day and age people have such a need to belong that they'll subject themselves to this kind of evil treatment.
i wouldn't have said anything if i were her, especially knowing that that was a religious environment that she was in. this is why i will never talk to anyone about my sex/private life, because i don't know how they would react, or if whether or not they would judge me for it. its just no ones business, and that includes friends and family especially. they don't have to know about it. its a private thing, and they don't need to know.
If, "just following orders" were a valid excuse, no hitman would ever be convicted of murder. If "just enforcing policy" were a valid excuse, Hitler's officers would not be guilty of anything. If "God told me to" were a valid excuse, then there would be no reason to try to capture Osama bin Laden. And, any time someone uses these pitiful excuses for excuses, I refer them to the logical extreme of the argument.

I think Jesus would of told her to stop. Don't you? Did these evil thugs drag her to this "Church" and make her sign up and give 10% of her income? I don't particularly care what Jesus would've done in any case. What they've done here *is* shameful behavior; that's why I've chosen to draw attention to their immorality.
I agree what the church did to her was wrong but from their perspective she was going to be eternally tortured (go to hell) if they didn't get her to stop her "immoral" behavior. Isn't public embarrassment preferable to eternal damnation? In a sick and twisted way they were showing how much they cared about her.

Im so sorry but I have always failed to see what makes participating in sex before you're married SO bad. seriously what is the reason for this being a sin?
can anyone actually give me a good answer for this, please?? I have never actually heard an answer for this one.
Here you go: Genesis 2:24 For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.
Paul's letter to the Corinthians: 1 Corinthians 6:16 Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For He says, " THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." I didn't add the caps, all caps means it is a quote from the writings of moses or the prophets.
Being a "Christian" or a "Believer" is a shield for so many fucked up people in this world. It sickens me. Being a "Christian" doesn't automatically make you a moral or good person.
I find it interesting that many (not all) Christians focus on a few "sins" and really victimise people who commit them.
According to their own book. All sins are equal and god cannot look upon any of them.
Also an article of doctrin in most Christian churches is "Man cannot contribute to his own salvation"
Given that all sins are equal in the eyes of god, why are they not focusing on such things as coverting your neighbours goat? (Keeping up with the Joneses)
Since God is a genlteman & doesn't force us to believe in Him, Christians are called to be likewise. This church you mention really sucks as they are not really following the Biblical way. Do not judge all churches just 'cause of this one sucky church. Go to one that is open to people seeking.
It's NOT there to judge non-believers & people still seeking, as this woman was. (Which should be perfectly ok. We all grow spiritually in different ways or choose not to which is also okay- no one's decision but our own.) (contiued again in next post...)
FYI, "the disipline process" is described in the Bible & says it's ONLY reserved for ppl who are true believers in Christ. This is to keep ourselves accountable to our actions, not to condemn, 'cause hey, we all do harmful things, Christian or not. (I'll continue on a second post 'cause I ran out of room...)
the motto of this church is.... "Lives changed... One truth at a time" Seriously... click on the link given and then look at the actual letter. Thats awful. Now I know why I'm wiccan... The majority of churches are the same... the majority of christians are the same. PLEASE don't fuckin blow up telling me ALL christians are not like this... THATS not what I said. But, then again... alot of you only hear what you want to.
If someone joins a Church as a member, they give that Church authority over them to proceed with the discipline process. The person also commits to the authority of the Bible.
I have seen this discipline process at my Church. One of the people has submitted to the discipline and is still a member. It seems that it was done more maturely than this Church, but I haven't heard their account.
THIS??? is bullshit!!! So, if a man was molesting one of his children, or beating his wife. And one of his victims went to a church elder, would these SAME disciplinary actions occur??? Would HE be confronted in front of the entire congregation??? I doubt it. After all... incest is something that OCCURRED in your "good" (and I use THAT term very loosely) book. Seriously, THIS is awful. So very glad I do not subject myself to such atrocities. Do what ye will, an it harm none. Blessed Be )O(
Would this disciplinary action occur to who? The molestor or the victim?
The intent here is that either people act according to the behavior they committed to when they joined the Church or they are no longer treated as a fellow Christian. If they refuse to act like a Christian, then they cannot be one.
In the example from the video, the girl refused to break up with her boyfriend and did not want to act like a Christian. Therefore, she cannot claim to be a Christian. Make sense?
As strange as it may seem to this audience, the process is intended to protect the person going through the discipline. At each level, the number of people who are introduced to the process is kept minimal, so that they keep the person's privacy. If they didn't realize it was a problem, they are informed and many times it doesn't go very far. Also, the additional people might decide that the issue really isn't important and stop it there.
Sex outside of marriage is a sin to CHRISTIANS... Then again... a lot of stuff is a sin. However I, am not a christian. I am wiccan. It's a much happier existence. Do what ye will, an it harm none.
The point about the sin is not that she was sinning. Everyone does this and, as you note, so are a lot of other things. The issue is that she refused to recognize that it was a sin and stop doing it. If someone refuses to stop sinning, then they cannot be a Christian, because they have not repented.
This is something that will probably only be an issue to Christians, as you say.
Then according to YOU, no one is a Christian. Because... and correct me if I am wrong... but it says Judge not, lest ye be judged. Christians are collectivelly the most judgmental group of people on the face of the planet. Because they view everyone in society based upon their "faith" And if someone has NO faith, then that makes them a bad person and therefor condemned to hell. I am just saying, there are a lot of people who don't BELIEVE in hell, And that alone does NOT make them sinners.
First of all, God has judged every person to be a sinner. If we tell them that, we are not "judging", but communicating God's judgment. The message is the same to everyone. Christians view everyone, including Christians, as "bad" people because of God's judgment. This does not fall under that commandment.
Second, holding someone accountable in love who has asked for accountability does not fall under that commandment.
Where do you see judging outside of those exceptions?

A fascinating depiction of total depravity [1 Corinthians 1:18]. Thanks for the performance. I'll have to share this with our Thursday night apologetics group. We love to practice on guys like you.
So, is church for sinners or saints? If it is for saints, then if we are all saints, why do we need church. If it is for sinner, as it surely is, then shouldn't those who allegedly sin be even more welcome there? Aren't they the one who need the guidance and support?
Apparently, grace, love, forgiveness, and guidance are not what church is about, apparently it is about sit down, shut up, do as we say, and give us your money.
ZJ -thanks for your well-spoken comments. What hypocrites those Bible-Belt christians are at that pathetic "church". Hope Hancock sues them. They own a lot of expensive real estate plus tax exempt status. Yet they contribute nothing to their community, unless you like witch-hunts. Yeah... bring back the burning stake, whipping post, pillory. Make the christian Taliban happy.
YOU make ME sick! you are talking about a religion!! christians try to follow the laws of the bible that is natural! you can't say to a hindu that its stupid too kneel in front of a statue of one of their gods aswell as you can't tell a christian taht its stupid to follow the laws of the bible! so perheps you shuld think twice about wath you are saying because you are breaking a law! you are discriminating christians by calling them stupid! and that is something you shuld own up to!
How is following Bible law natural? A Hindu kneeling at a statue harms no one; I may see it as pointless, but it affects nobody else. If they were harassing anyone who chose not to kneel, that would be different. If following Bible law means behaving in a way that ignores reality, then that's stupid. I wasn't speaking of all Christians, just these--not all Christians behave this way. I am not "discriminating" because they're Christian, I'm going by their behavior. Also, what law am I breaking?
In my country it is illegeal to discriminate or in any way pick on someone for religion or color of their skin or whatever. it natureal for CHRISTIANS to follow the laws of the bible. if not having sex outside marrige because 95% of people does it is ignoring reality then not eating pig should be ignoring reality to i guess 50% of all people does it! Islam says that you shall not eat pig and the bible says you shall not have sex outside marrige. wath is the diffrence?
Do you mind sharing which country this is, so I can determine whether I live in it? Maybe cite a legal code or two, just for reference? Again, I'm not "picking on" them just because they're Christians -- I'm criticizing their behavior because I view it as unethical. If you think being Christian necessarily entails this sort of behavior, so criticizing this behavior is somehow "discriminating" against Christians... well, not all Christians behave that way. There's no "discrimination" here.
I see no reason to argue with you any further sense it is just my meaning: that you discriminated christian in the video. against your meaning: that you didn't. I live in Norway and the law i will quote as soon as i find the right paragraphs.
Just a bit of a side-note, I think that race and religion are sliiightly different things. I'm not racist. But I have strong atheist beliefs, and can criticize religions for ignoring reality without feeling like I'm completely and utterly evil. I would never tell someone that they're not allowed somewhere, or that they're not welcome, simply because their skin is a different colour. By not denouncing religion you are giving it safety and ignoring common sense.
then can you tell me why black metal (which is highly anti christian and is the best thing to come from norway) originates there and is seemed to be accepted? wouldn't of all those black metal bands been locked up if that was the case?
Fantastically put! I live in Jacksonville and this does not surprise me. It could happen anywhere, but the self-righteousness of the churches I've attended (before abandoning religion entirely) is palpable. There's always a line of scripture that can be used to force a personal vendetta up into the "holiest" of grounds and to my experience pastors and church-goers seldom hesitate to do so on behalf of human decency.
This is beyond stupidity, I cant watch the entire video because I feel like the stupidity of these fucking christians is wearing off on me.... furthermore, they all deserve death in my opinion... where are the arsonists when you need them?????
Your rants are well thought-out (and IMHO), dead-on right! Thanks for these articulate outbursts!
There may be a reason that the first word in "ignorance" is "ignore." Ignoring rational behavior is no license to tell other people what they should do! That church's patrons' behavior would be sad, if it wasn't so self-serving and harmful to others! It's like those who say, "Well I can't have any fun, why should I let anyone else have any?"
No shit, people fuck!!!!! You came up with some classic one liners!!!! :-)

§ 135a: Discriminatory or hatfulle opinions of others, skin color, religion or sexual orientation can result in: tickets / up to 3 years prison
this were originally in norwegian but i translated it with google translate.

Cool, glad I don't live in Norway. I hear it's a nice place, but with speech codes like that, I don't want any part of it. (Don't extradite me, bro!)

An unexpressed opinion is only a thought.
So if simply having hateful or discriminatory OPINIONS is a crime, that makes it a thought crime.
Glad I am not in Norway as well.

Great video, keep it up!

I live in Jax too. You can tell its bad when the shows you want to watch get covered up by christian preacher shows.

Peace,
