  • i just know her from Ghost, i have no idea she was in my favorite musical ever!!!

  • I love listening to American audiences, they're so enthusiastic. Don't get that in England...

  • @LVN93 You haven't heard Kerry's last performance then haha

  • CAaissie saldy blew her voice (temporarily, thank God) in her LA run (though she sounds fab here.) Yet, I would stil love for Caissie to return, because she said somewhere that she has greatly improved her belting technique and think that she could handle the role now.

  • I wasn't a fan of her voice on Broadway but she sounds fantastic here. It's a shame we didn't get to see more of her. I heard her acting was really good.

  • @GingerSpiceCurry Do you mean when she was in Wicked on broadway, or a different show? Because she only went on 3 times as elphaba as a standby before she was offered the lead in LA :)

  • @asswhole239 yeah i meant in Wicked on Broadway when she was brand new. She improved a lot in her brief time as Elphaba in my opinion.

  • Her and Jackie Burns (current Broadway) ate the best

  • I was so excited for this by reading comments, but some of it sounding like shouting to me. and I mean I know I could never even attempt to do belt that high. and yeah I guess she hit the notes but I think Idina holds a special place in my heart.

  • @LuvsCounrtyMusic1206 Well it was her last performance after he voice had already taken a massive hit. In her healthy condition she was EXCELLENT.

I love Idina too, but she screamed a lot of notes too. Particularly the high F.

  • Her last note is just stunning!

  • I love this

  • The first "bring me down" is one of my favourites, EVER. There is so much genuine heart in this performance. You can really FEEL it.

  • I was there that night it was such an amazing night!!! The audience was great and Caissie and Megan were on it. Caissie gave her all in that performance in every song and every scene. The house was going crazy over The Wizard and I, Defying Gravity, and No Good Deed. She completely blew the roof off of the Pantages. Better yet that night was my Bday so it was even more amazing. I love Caissie shes such a powerhouse.

  • The last note is sensational.

  • this made me cry

    Caissie Levy <3

  • I love the last note. Caissie is just sensational.

  • I think should could have handled the role better if a. she had more time as standby in LA to get better equipped with the environment. b. not been given given lead so quickly after only 3 performances on broadway. They were just stupid by doing that most people need time to nurture into the role that is why there are rarely any elphabas who are brand new to the role (i.e. Nicole Parker, Mandy Gonzalez, Jackie Burns). And yes she did miss at least 40 performances. My aunt worked there

  • @broadwayisus Also, Julia Murney, Ana Gasteyer, and Mamie Parris

  • I think Rachel should go to broadway in december 2011 and then stephanie or shoshana should do Wicked London! That would be insane!

  • That last note is really just spot on!

  • @jaszon28 She was an understudy in the Broadway production. She only performed 4 times though. After her second performance, they asked her to step up and replace Eden Espinosa in LA full-time.

  • @TheatricalAppearance i was so excited when i read your comment about Caissie in the Wicked production in London but Rachel Tucker is staying on until December 2011 :( Rachel is awesome but i think Caissie would be so much better

  • @MattManOhYeah Since when? I thought she was leaving in March

  • @s0undstrulycrazy must of been in the past few weeks. She just extended her contract until dec 2011. I personally think that Nikki should be the lead soon

  • @s0undstrulycrazy Nope she got word a couple of weeks ago that her contract was extended until December 2011. I don't know that I would want to have Rachel Tucker be replaced by Caissie Levy because she is so awesome. I want Rachel to come to Broadway for a run (and be much better than Kerry Ellis). I do think Caissie should return somewhere in the US though!

  • @moviefreak316 Well, she got the offer to extend, and accepted it, you mean :)

Caissie is doing Ghost the Musical in London anyway

  • @moviefreak316 I seriously doubt Caissie would return to the role, after all she went through.

  • @wickedphant0m Whatd she go through?

  • @BlazedHearts She had to quit the production only half-way into her contract, after missing a LOT of performances (40 in 4 months) because the vocal demands of the role were too great. According to the official story, she was on doctor's orders to leave the show or risk doing permanent damage to her voice.

  • @wickedphant0m ......... She did not miss 40 performances

Stop believing everything you read on pathetic Wicked fan forums. There was no 'official story' published by Wicked about Caissie leaving. And I spoke with Caissie at the stage door at HAIR and asked her if she'd ever do Wicked again and she said she'd love to do it on Broadway someday.

  • @s0undstrulycrazy I knew someone who was friends with Teal and kept a running count of the times she went on as they were happening. According to her count, Teal went on for 38 full shows, Marcie did 2 full shows, and they each did a split show with Caissie during her time as principle Elphaba. Now...I didn't attend all of those shows myself, but that doesn't mean I'm going to automatically discredit a source.

  • @s0undstrulycrazy And also...just so you know...I think Caissie is a brilliantly talented performer. I just think that Wicked was a bad fit for her voice. She'd only done like 2 or 3 performances as the Bway u/s when they announced her as Eden's replacement, and I think no one realized how much 8 shows a week would take out of her. Not being able to sing Elphaba 8x a week does NOT make her a bad performer, it makes her a human being.

  • @wickedphant0m I think Caissie was brilliant in Wicked. I would love to see her return to the Broadway production. Climate change can do a number on one's health, which plays a huge factor, hence why Eden missed so many shows in SF.

  • @moviefreak316 Yeah kerry was only bad on Broadway because they made her do an American accent and they flew her out to New york and put her into rehearsals the same day, two days later and she was on stage performing to an audience. So they gave her no time to adapt to the new environment or the time change. I'd like to see you do 8 shows a week with jet lag.

  • @TheatricalAppearance The whole "vocal problems" thing was just a rumor. She barely even took any time off between Wicked and HAIR.. anything that could have been THAT wrong with her voice would have required more time to heal. I would love to see her return to Wicked.. but not in London ;-) she deserves to take the Broadway stage after the cast change! ;-)

  • @s0undstrulycrazy If there is any doubt to the issue of vocal problems with Caissie, just check out this clip. On that note, I saw Caissie 6 times in LA, and the show undoubtedly put a huge strain on her voice. In hair she is not required to belt like she did in wicked.youtube.com/watch?v=A7XALHLj4r0&NR=1

  • I want to hear her last No Good Deed. I bet it was great!

  • @moviefreak316 her last no good deed used to be up, it was on for a week then it was taken down. It was amazing, one of the best. I think it was even better than Eden - with all her crazy riffs - but i have no idea why it was taken down :P

  • WOW AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! she's Killer! def one of the Greats! it's funny cuz i totally remember a time when i absolutely hated her vocals but now i'm in-freeking-love!!!

  • This brings back so many memories. I miss Wicked LA so much, Caissie is my absolute favorite Elphaba. I was here at this performance, I don't think I've ever had more chills in my life. She's such an amazing actress and has such an amazing voice. <3

  • I noticed from broadway to the begging of her L.A. run she high-pitched her voice, then near the end she got really deep

  • Soooo incredible!

  • one of my favorite defying gravity's of all time

  • @loudip6493 Mine too :D

  • goooooosebumps all the way!

  • @Kriztahpi i know right

  • That was fantastic.
