This is so helpful, Jill. Not even just for the Holiday season, but just life tips. My boyfriend wanted me to go with him to his parent's lake house this year and I had to say no on several occasions because this summer was just a really bad summer for my bladder. I was in a lot of flares. I felt so bad each time I said no, and eventually I just said yes, and the 3 hour drive was horrific. I was decent once we got there but...wow

I like the part of this video about saying no being empowering. So true. I lost my only child in November of 1998 so Christmas became difficult to even think about, So we announced before it even arrived that we would be going away and getting away from things. I didn't need to see that empty place at the table at Christmas. That's when I learned to say no. We still go away at Christmas. BTW - it can be worse. IC is painful, but losing a child dims the IC pain.
