  • You are very right classic games like that are very rare and in short supply

  • Acrually just sticking two people on an island with nothing but shovels each sounds like an AWSOME game!

  • You need to do more of these, your voice is bloody amazing!!!

  • I'm taking it that the Commodore 64 is to the British and some cases the Australians as to what the NES is to Americans, right?

  • The only game that comes close to that sort of fun is Minecraft.

And that's only if you're griefing.

  • Mr jackson you simply must do more of these reviews.

  • What are your thoughts on the Assassin's Creed multiplayer in which there are player somewhere in the city that are trying to hunt you down and kill you?

  • The deserted island is what makes me excited about "From Dust". Even the gameplay sounds fun. You get to manipulate your surroundings to help out a local tribe and ward of natural disasters.

  • I love the reference to the Gordon Freeman kit.

  • A british, less cocky AVGN...

    subscribed

  • Glad someone has a taste for vintage games besides myself. ^_^ seriously though, that was amazing. Selfishly I shall ask for more. XD

  • Dare I say this is better than Yahtzee?

    Yes, yes I would. =)

Btw, are there more British youtube personalities like TB, Yahtzee or Collectedcurios?

  • @sshi check out yogscast.

  • U and TotalBiscuit should review a game together or smthing!!!

  • I dunno you sound a lot like zero punctuation

  • It sounds like Minecraft =) alone on an island...with a shovel =D

  • please do more of these if you did this regularly like once a month maby

  • i really hope he makes more

  • The picture at 1:53 is pure art! Thank you! I haven't laughed like that in ages.

  • Great stuff by the way.

  • Current games bore me any more, there should definitely be more games like spy vs. spy. Three cheers for dastardly creativity!

  • I thought this vid was mighty entertaining.

Minecraft (survival mode) sets you in the middle of nowhere with nothing. It's multiplayer mode is about cooperative building. Maybe there is a mod out there.

  • no wonder this guys angry he cant draw... I would be 2.

  • Yay! 1:58 "Squeaky voiced American children make my dam ears bleed" was my Xbox live bio for ages, so this made me lol =].

  • Zorro perforation...

Doesn't that basically translate into a "foxhole?"

  • Glad you acknowledged that TF2 is really pushing the envelope of creativity when it comes to first-person shooters. The way the classes are set up, victory doesn't just come from who is the most twitchy, like most FPS's, but in who knows how to use their class the best. A good engineer can easily turn the tables by setting up a base in a forward position just as easily as a skilled spy can ruin all of that with some finesse.

  • Brilliant work, JJ. I love it. In all seriousness, however, I'm now wondering if Garry's Mod could be, well, modded to create an updated version of the old Spy vs. Spy game.

  • Awesome. That is all.

  • Try turning on speech-to-text on this one. Watching google's algorithm try to keep up with the snappy monologue is pretty hilarious.

  • Holy shit! did you say that spy vs.spy 2 was for the commodore 64!?! they have that as one of the systems for classic games you can download on the wii store, I gotta go check that! NOW!

  • I know some one who made the origonal spy v spy games ^^

  • wow bravo mr.jolly jack bravo!!! 83

  • If you're looking for a game with a similarly devious style of play, try to find a older piece called Necromania. A mix of SvS and a diablo like hack'n'slash.

Premise : Find all parts of a key and escape.

Problem : the levels are filled with traps and worse yet, other players.

How can you get the key parts from other (mostly stonger characters). You set up traps of your own. Lots of 'em. And if you feel bad enough, combine them with the traps of the enviroment.

    Btw.That was hilarious.

  • lol, heard of spy vs spy but had no idea what it was.

had turn the volume to max just to hear what you were saying

  • I neglected to post the first time, but thanks for filling in for Yahtzee for his holiday it was quite amusing. Very good that you chose to spice it up rather than directly copy it ...as we've all seen all over youtube.

  • dear god that is great!

  • You sir, win.

  • @TotalHalibut Are you actually collectedcurios ?:P

  • Comment removed

  • I love it ^^

  • Nice vid! A bit quiet, though.

Quick question: What's the name of the music at the intro? I want to hear the rest.

  • Ah, JollyJack. Nice to once again see you putting your artistic talent to making hillarious stuff on the INTERNET.

  • "squeaky-voiced American children," huh? Funny, last time I played Modern Shitfare 2, it was a GROUP of squeaky-voiced British children.

  • @FreakingHarryPotter Which means based on that one game, every game must be like that...

  • @TotalHalibut

I sincerely wish the hypocrisy would end.

  • @FreakingHarryPotter Do you even know what that word means? Because I don't think it means what you think it means.

  • @TotalHalibut

It means that in many of your videos you make snide generalizations. Contrary to what you seem to assume quite often when responding to anyone you disagree with, I didn't fail 5th grade English.

  • @FreakingHarryPotter The irony of your remark is just how hypocritical you've proven yourself to be over the course of the past couple of comments. You may not have failed 5th grade English, but you're bottom of the class when it comes to avoiding trapping yourself in your own bullshit :)

  • @TotalHalibut

I have to admit, even when you're bullshitting I can hear that arrogant "tally ho, gents" accent of yours. Rage on, good sir.

  • @FreakingHarryPotter Arrogant accent? Great comeback, hilarious.

  • @FreakingHarryPotter The word "hypocrisy" does not mean "snide generalizations."

  • What did he just say about Mafia 2?

  • @Gjkl345 He said hes not paying full price for an unfinished game.

  • @imanubjenkins Huh, highly disagree but okay.

  • @Gjkl345 Doesn't matter if you disagree, it's objective fact. The DLC should have been in the game from the start, it's a deliberate cut to milk more cash out of the title.

  • @TotalHalibut Jimmy's Vendetta? Really? That was more arcadish then anything. Though it does seem rather too early to seperate it from suspicion. Stil DLC reigned about as much as Fallout's DLC's did for me, alternatives to keep the game abit fresh before it became out of date from its original unique storyline. It didn't really affect the plot at all (atleast I didn't see a connection between the alternative main prog and the original main prog.)

  • Lovely video, and I love your voice.

  • A quality retro review with a charming slideshow comic backing it up. Well timed, I might add. Cheers!

  • I have to ask... what's the music you used when "zorro perforation" first appeared? It's awesome!

Ahem. Music nerdiness aside, this was highly entertaining. Any more in the works? :-)

  • Time to make a good remake then, right ;).

  • AWESOME! we want to see more of this!

  • This is actually fucking awesome. please make MANY MORE

  • The voice of a British Morgan Freeman with only a fraction of Yahtzee missing? What glorious alternate universe did I stumble into?

  • Best Yahtzee parody ever. Your "how to play" style was similar already so this is a well-done logical extension of it. Only criticism is that your voice isn't quite sharp enough to make out clearly at high speed and I had to listen to some segments two or three times.

Also you have successfully made me want to play this game, so good job there too.

  • I enjoyed this thoroughly! Well done sir.

  • I agree with Johosafilms, Your "How To Play" Comics in Yahtzee-fied animatic form would be brilliant!

  • That was awesome the "simple" drawings (yet awesome) was just fantastic reminded me of how I loved the fallout cartoons.

  • Hi from France.

I must admit Totalbiscuit brought me here too.

While I can't pretend I understood each and every word, I sure spent 4:19 seconds laughing, and I'm gratefull for that. Love the humour, love the drawings.

Thank you very much (and my apologies for my English)

  • Okay, that was awesome. Makes me a bit sad you won't make 'em regular, but as Teach says; better once than never at all. Good show!

  • the ppl who didnt like this were obviously to stupid to understand !

    you have talent man !

  • Brilliant as always!

  • If you ever think of more subjects to talk about, please, do make another or three. :D

  • that was hilarious.TB ftw

  • not bad mate!. much prefer your animations/ drawings to yahtzee.. ^^. funnny at times too. very good. *like*

  • How was this made? What kind of program did you use

  • this is awsome tbh, nice job :D

  • That was bloody fantastic. Well done JJ.

  • Phillip Jackson, You nailed it. I love your voice man. Definately makes me think of Jack in Collected Curios (darstadly B***ard)

    Well done man

  • make more. MORE! :D

  • TB SENT ME HERE!

  • m8 not bad not bad at all ;)

  • TB FTW

  • Hello, Jolly Jack. Nice to hear from you...

  • Derp!

  • I absolutely agree with you in that older games were more fun. Even though the graphics were poor, the gameplay always made up for it.

Game companies really need to understand that games are meant to be fun first and foremost.

  • the new xbox whats out 2011 the remote is gonna be like thay had in the old days

  • that was really freaking funny, i know you said this isnt going to be a regular thing but you really should do more

  • Dam you TB spamming me with such good videos...

  • Thanks for showing me this TB it's awesome!

  • Hehe, that was very good :P Do want co-vids with yahtzee but that wont happen :(

  • Hehe, that was very good :P Do want co-vids with yahtzee but that wont happen :(

  • Why didn't you tell us your voice was so sexy?

  • That was amazing. Do more.

  • Awesome do more and we will never haw to see yahtzee anymore :D

  • Absolutely grand! I hope there are more of these to come!

  • big LOL for that!

  • I also was brought here thanks to total biscuit, and I must say you've done a great job, love the style and the wit.

  • haha hilarious and awsome, make more and ill subsribe xD

  • you should definitely do more of these, even if it isn't regularly

  • Idd that is very funny <3

  • lol total biscuit brought me here and I am impressed! :D

  • This really was well done. Easily as charming as the Zero Punctuation stuff. The simple drawings were a very nice touch, a nice half-step from the Zero Punctuation format.

Not to mention it was probably a lot easier for you to do... Chintzy bastard. ;)

  • You, sir, have excellent comedic timing.

  • Moar.

    Please. :3

  • Which is why I'm turned off by games like Halo playing as a run and gun Super Soldier. It would have been more fun and engaging playing as a lone Marine Engineer making life a living hell for the opposing alien forces using the various tools available to his MOS and the imagination of the player. Booby trap a bridge to explode when an enemy column has crossed part of the way. Demolish the enemy armory with a few placed charges. Place piano wire across roads. Daisy Chain some grenades.

  • This is quite good, yes. Needs to be louder though.

  • More of this please

  • This was.... AWESOME! You simply have to do more! Have Chloe host one, maybe ;)

And I agree - it seems I spend more time these days playing games from long ago than more recent fare (that being said, I'm looking forward to Super Robot Taisen L).

  • This was.... AWESOME! You simply have to do more! Have Chloe host one, maybe ;)

  • This was beautiful. I'm subscribing, it certainly got a few laughs out of me!

  • This was brilliant

  • Make more man! I think it's better than Yahtzee.

  • Love it. I hope you'll be doing more videos like this!

  • Well, that was absolutely amazing. You should do more of these.

  • wow this is so awsome and so true

  • I agree we NEED more creative games.

  • this was really good :D

  • Okay...that was badass.

  • Sketchbook pro?

  • you should do this more often

  • Awesome video! :D

  • total biscuit brought me here too i love his vids but if i could i think i would punch him in the face for this lol i want my 4:19 back on well it had 1 or 2 small chuckle moments ok my rant is over back to total biscuit's vids lol.

  • Fekkin' BRILLIANT! You must do MORE!

  • pretty excellent :D the deepness certainly "lends" to the whole thing.

  • Comment removed

  • epic....

  • omg so much LOL

  • Liked it a lot. Well done and a great game I remember well to boot!

  • This is brilliant. :O

  • A joy to watch *and* listen to.

  • Well this is a nice snack to stop the hunger, moar please!

  • You're like the more mellow sounding, love filled optimist that pseudo-fills the void of Yahtzee. Very nice job on your own art stylings, they were pleasant to look at as well!

  • spot on spot on 100% true lmao

  • Heh this was fun... and cute. >.>

  • total biscuit brought me here

  • @kazamman33 same and i glad i did xD

  • @kazamman33 Me too lol

  • @kazamman33 It's Totalbiscuit you nab.

  • @Dafractious It is JollyJack not TB, it doesn't even sound like TB.

  • @MinnieMo ALL BRITISH PEOPLE SOUND ALIKE, DIDN'T YOU KNOW?!

  • @TotalHalibut AMAGAD ! HOW COULD HAVE MISS THIS! I MUST BE DEAF !

  • @TotalHalibut OMG, FOR REALZ!?

  • @kazamman33 LOL same here XD!

  • Nicely done, good Sir :)

  • No, you're certainly not Yahtzee. You're way classier, more beautifully expressive, artistically talented, and you don't make listeners and fans feel like sewage. Bravo.

A shame you've got too many artistic irons in the fire; I'd love to see this as a regular thing.

  • this needs to become a series its awsome

  • That was good enough! I was missing Yahtzee this week, this is like a shot of methadone - it is sweet and feels good but it is not quite like the usual Yahtzee heroin dose <3

  • OMG you have a voice! And here's me thinking you were nought but a pencil...

  • Great video! I love spy vs. spy, not necessarily for the games but for the comics.

  • Awesome! I'd say you need to make more if you've got the spare time!

However you should raise the volume a bit since despite having all my controls on max I couldn't make out half of what you said. Even though I was really quiet and concentrated only on your voice.

I'd love it if you updated it by raising the volume so I could enjoy this one properly.

  • You should do more, its as funny as zero punctuation, but you tend to relive old games more which is awesome.

  • I think I still have my old Commador 64. Not sure if I have the game though. Was fun back in the day.

  • That's the most fun I've had watching a video in a long time. And I agree wholeheartedly about lack of creativity in games lately.

  • you're a master. well met.

  • I like your voice ^_^

  • bahaha Brilliant!!

  • Brilliant man, you do this quite well. I'd love to see your 'How to play' series animated like this.

  • Ehehe ahhh... good to have my fix.

  • Remember "FlashBack" for Sega?

  • i coudl watch this all day and still laugh

  • lol Nice work. I wouldn't mind seeing more of these. Twice the ZP buzz in a week. XD

    Ahh...I can only dream. X3

  • Oh god this was great.

And you managed to do the entire thing without a gay joke!

  • I must say the denizens are more appealing than the imps

  • PLEASE make more. I actually enjoy yours almost more than Yatzhee's because of your little drawings that I love so much. 10/10!

  • This was actually pretty good and all the while hilarious. I won't tell you to make more if not feeling up to it though I do recommend it.

  • Good job.

Boost the speed of your speaking a bit faster and I think you'd have it nailed.

  • you need to be a super-villan voice, but with more volume :)

  • My only problem is the volume you have. It's really quite and hard to hear, I had to turn up my volume rather stupidly high to understand what was being said.

    Other than that, good job!

It was humorous and fun and I got a giggle out of it without the swearing and titty jokes Yatzhee tends to resort to when he gets supremely irritated. ^^

  • You actually sound a bit like yahtzee when he first started.

  • It's like the news readers reviewing a game, but I love it none the less m8. Class

  • hysterical! Lmao! :D

  • Sir, you never cease to astound me

  • I got the feeling of beloved Yahtzee, but I missed the excessive swearing about the game. I am after all, a fan of juvenile humor, and hearing a posh british accented man swearnig until his gonards explode is making me laugh. Other than that, It seemed to be a great first review try.

  • i never thought of it that way but i would love a game where your dumped in the middle of no where and you have to use your wits and the environment to battle your foe. You have raised an excellent point that i would love game developers to follow up, so i thank you for this video review and your british accent....because its wonderful

  • Jolly good sir! But a bit quiet. Highly enjoyable otherwise.

  • Poor kitty! but this was so funny and I love your voice~

  • hey jollyjack PLEASE make the how to play strips on this format!!! I really would love seeing them like this! =P seriously give it a try I would be all over it

  • @horomotosuwa I agree! Now that we have heard the voice of the Jolly Jack, that voice plays in my head every time i read one of his how to play strips.

  • MOAR. + the end was adorable.

  • Amen.

  • Oh Jolly.<3

    Your so great. X3
