When u burn propane through a diesel engine it burns hotter to help burn a higher percent of diesel this creates more power by burning more fuel and on a diesel engine black smoke is unburnt diesel so if u were burning nearly all ur diesel in ur cylinders u would have very little if any smoke the only reason y turbo diesels smoke with propane is because the turbo has to catch up with the engine and when it does propane injection produces zero smoke these r facts if u want smoke turn up ur pump

Why would you turn the pump up with no turbo to put the extra fuel to use? You guys kill me, "make er smoke, make er smoke" try making power instead. A homeade propane injection is very simple to make for a N/A diesel and it will give you extra power, increase your fuel mileage and yes( for you kids) make er smoke like hell

SuperchargedPC... When you have a " run away diesel " YES, as a matter of fact the very best thing you can do is put it in your highest gear and stand on the brakes. People get scared and pop it in nuetral right off the bat and thats what ruins an engine. Ive never heard of a runaway diesel from messing with the timing though, run away diesel happens when the bearings and seals go bad in the turbo and oil gets onto the pistons

hey i got good news and bad news i turnd up the injector pump on my diesel she rolls coal like never b4 the bad i messed with my ip cover just for the fun of it and ya i had a runaway diesel on the highway had to slip it in neutral roll to the side of the road and cut off the air supply it i black out the highway so bad i had the fire department called on me im still shaking like a leaf lol i never wanna drive that truck again!!!

i have everything done to my truck that you have done to yours its 1991 idi 7.3 non turbo with a dump box on it. even if i have it loaded to the max with dirt or rock you name it and it wont smoke its even straight piped it wont smoke WHAT DO I DO lol???

u need to turn up ur injection pump stock idi's dont smoke i turned mine up and it filled 5 in stacks all day i could be almost topped out and if i floored it i could smoke as much as i did takin off

yeah everybody i know with a newer diesel with a DPF takes it off as the first thing they do. then all the other emissions BS is the next thing to go. so maybe the nature nazies can put em on, but they definitely can't make us keep em on. haha take that society!!

the stock 2.5 inch pipe with no muffler and I turned it up 4.5 flats

There is no way you turned it up that much with that little smoke. Unless your IP is detuned for High altitude. Thats more like 1-1.5flats....

I think your wrong because i turned it up my self, but I got my pump retimed and it was 2 degrees retarded so everthing is timed up now

I know someone that timed an IP on a 6.9 10 degrees with no turbo. Ran pretty good until he split the block in half. WHOOPS! LOL

HAHAHA! My 1993 idi non turbo smokes the same way...i turned the pump up 4 flats.....just don't melt her down by keepin your foot into it!

Watch exhaust temperatures if u have turned fuelling up, evidently these get really hot when turned up.
