Great tank... that is the look I'm going for. I love tiger barbs - so fiesty and so much personality. Whenever I'd stick my hand in the tank to clean I'd get lots of "kisses" (ha).
@SPART4N1171@SPART4N1171 No. Your two oscars are already going to be enough for that tank. You will be maxed out when they reach adult size, and have to work hard to keep it clean enough for them. They will be 10-12 inches long each, and that tank will be crowded with just those two. You should check out the oscarfishlover website(just google it).
@SensiRootsBoy This is not good advice, because the only way a fish stops growing when it's in a tank that is not big enough for it, is that it gets stunted and dies prematurely. We can all make mistakes in this hobby, it's so complex, and even some store people spread mis-information like this. This particular thing, I can tell you after about 30 years of fish-keeping, and very extensive reading, is not true.
@celticchrys this is not information based on what i got at a pet-store i to have 30+ years of experience, owned just about every size tank and every species of fresh water fish. I've seen with my own eyes oscars, clown loaches, plecos, sharks, catfishs, etc get huge with a 55+ gal but in anything smaller they don't get big, and no they don't die prematurely because of stunted growth. i've had a oscar for 8 years in a 20 gal that never reached over 7 inches.
@celticchrys my advice to you is, speak from experience and not based on what you read in a book. You ever heard the phrase you are a product of your environment, it couldn't be any more true. get more hands on research before you try to knock some ones information next time.
@SensiRootsBoy I did speak from experience. Perhaps you failed to read my comment. I feel that speaking out against needless animal cruelty in a mild way is the least I can do. I have seen many fish die prematurely because people follow such bad advice. Just because your fished lived X number of years in a too-small tank does not mean they wouldn't have lived much longer in a properly sized one. Eventually there will be too much waste(poison) in the water, and this will adversely affect health.
@celticchrys Actually you said '' the only way a fish stops growing when it's in a tank that is not big enough for it, is that it gets stunted and dies prematurely '' Dunno where you got this information from but it's wrong. Can you explain why my oscar was only 7 inchs but lived 8 years then ?? Your information is obviously off, and you don't need to tell me how waste works in a aquarium, i didn't just get into the hobby of fish yesterday.
hey can u help me with my tank? my tanks is crystal clear like yours and no water problems then suddenly next morning i just saw 1 of my tiger barbs dead... whats wrong?
@rkon1000 Clown loaches get about a foot long(12-14 inches), but it takes a very long time. They grow very fast until they're about 3-4 inches long, and then grow very slowly. They also live a very long time if well cared for. I have a clown that I've had now for about 13 years, and he is about 7 inches long. Take all of this into account before you buy them. Plan for long-term, you will probably need to get a bigger tank over the years, etc., if you want to do the thing right. :)
@Johnnyblazinbud420 I know it's been a while since you posted, but regarding plant additives and clowns, I generally use Seachem brand products, and I use the lowest recommended dose for many products, if a range is recommended. For regular Seachem Flourish, I use the recommended amount, and for Excel, I use half the initial dose, and then for daily mantenance, I use 1 cap every couple of days. The real things to be careful about is medicine and salt. Dose most medicines at half-strengh.
Your clown loaches are so much better behaved then mine.2 of my clowns spend all day fighting each other by grinding their spurs.Such naughty fish lol
I think you should make a video where the camera is zoomed out and we get to see the entire tank. I would like to see your setup because It looks quite nice from these angles.
I just got a baby clown loach and I was wondering if they HAVE to be in groups to live and what not. If someone could shoot me a quick email about it that would be great. Brocki645@yahoo.com
@n03lzz well i dont wanted to say obese, everyone keep his fishes as his way. But i prefer to keep dem not overfeed.. the yours are simply; noutrished at full
@n03lzz i totally agree with you n03lzz my uncle has a school of 22 tiger barbs and 15 clown loaches in a 300gallon tank and they totally look like yours bro!! and trust me they are healthy...
@n03lzz careful though. i was feeding my fish twice a day and the nitrates rised so high it killed 2 of my fish. i only feed them once every other day. so make sure you keep an eye on the nitrate and nitrite levels.
@n03lzz Beautiful Fish!!!! I have 3 tiger barbs, and all of them are full grown im thinking about gettin some clown loaches, and this vid just finallized my decision. and as far as the obese thing... those people dont know what they are talkin about!!!!, clown loaches are bottom feeders, and all bottom feeders are thick looking!!!
I've videos out of my seven tanks and two ponds, as well as videos out of zoos and fairs. I marked every video which is not my own tank with the "@zoo" or "@fair" tag in the title as well as some information in the video box.
@n03lzz hey man i have 5 tiger barbs as a test to show i have enough resposibility for a lizard and love these 5 guys they are awesome, i want more fish to join them in my 10 gallon tank, what other fish are good with tigers besides the loaches?
10 gallon is a very small tank. You might get aggression-problems with your tigerbarbs and other free-swimming fish. Look for loaches that are staying small. Clown loaches would grow way to big.
Well, alot of hiding places, i have updated my tanks since last shown on youtube. I have alot of hiding places. Im currently boiling some kind of root so it wont put things in my water and no dirt/sand.
Personally, i wouldn't try that. But i've no experience in such a combination. Clown loaches aren't agressive in any way. I'm not sure if they can withstand such cichlids.
To my knowledge thats wrong. In german the kuhli loach is called "Dornauge" wich means (translatet word by word) "Thorneye". To my knowledge they also got the eye blades.
Hey man , my cousin has some clown loaches with his texas cichlids.. would it be okay if they were in a more aggressive tank like red devils or jackdempseys?
Sorry, i cannot answer this question. That depends on the size of the tank, the water quality and water parameters and also on the decoration like the hiding places (and bogwood in it) or the ground (sand).
Hi, they don't school like a school of herrings or somethnig, but they definitively orientate on each other. Looks very very cool. A untrained eye cannot even distinguish the species.^^

AWESOME VIDEO!!!!! I heard the like to school together. Is this true?

Hi, they don't school like a school of herrings or somethnig, but they definitively orientate on each other. Looks very very cool. A untrained eye cannot even distinguish the species.^^
