  • My God! The Hungry I album was the first record I played when i was about 4 yrs. old and could barely reach the turntable.

  • I did not know this was about Monterey County until I went to the fabulous Al Jardine concert. I've been through Jolon alone many times!

  • The "south coast" of this song is Big Sur, California. Lillian Bos Ross, a resident of Big Sur from the 1920s-1950s, co-wrote the lyrics. Jolon is a town in the Salinas Valley, on the other side of the Santa Lucia mountains from Big Sur. Thanks for posting this song.
