  • lol "this is a very focused group" then watch the back round at 1:25

  • 2 people are ignorant

  • greatest teacher ever.

  • Great teacher, he knows how to explain why, but even better, he know how to explain why not.

  • awsome teacher

  • LOL at the kid who asks him to turn around..........Rener almost seemed to be thinking......"Oh God kid we're shooting a video, it's not all about you"

What did W.C. Fields say about being upstaged by children?

Ya gotta love Rener. He's the best.

  • great teacher the best

  • So much Renergy!

  • PLEASE STOP SAYING GRACIE JIU JITSU

PLEASE IT IS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

UR GRANDFATHER WASNT THE ONLY ONE PRACTICING IT

THEY WERE FEW WHO WERE TAUGHT BY THE JAPANESE

NOW THE BRAZILIANS DID IMPROVE AND EVOLVE THE GAME

SO U CALL IT JIU JITSU OR BJJ BUT NO WAY GJJ

    MUCH RESPECT THOUGH

I LOVE THE GRACIS BUT IT JUST PISSES ME OFF WHEN U MAKE UP A NAME

    IT IS BECOMING BUISNESS NOW

U GUYS ARE GREAT TEACHERS TEACH FOR THE PASSION OF TEACHING NOT FOR THE MONEY U MAKE ONLINE TESTS?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @theflyingpharaohmido The reason they call it Gracie JJ is not because of the techniques but more because of their teaching method. All of this is essentially Kodokan Judo with a few added sweeps and guards (De La Riva sweep/guard, Rubber Guard, etc). They teach the techniques of Judo/BJJ but their method of teaching is GJJ. Royce clearly explains the difference in this video:

    watch?v=f6jnoSbEKfw

  • @theflyingpharaohmido actually there is a difference. they are not calling it gracie jiujitsu because the gracies pioneered it. they call it gracie jiujitsu because of the way they as gracies teach it, and the fundamentals, compared to the way other jiu jitsu schools teach it. for example, the requirements for bluebelt are focused on solely self defence to defend against a bigger, stronger attacker in the street as apposed to sport jiu jitsu schools that may focus more on competition style "bjj"

  • @beatjugglez ok i agree but u have no idea how many guys do i run into who believe that helio gracie is the founder of bjj and the online tests thing?!!!!! they give belts online!!!!!!! i send them a video and they give me the belt now thats not jiu jitsu thats BUISNESS again the only raeson im sayin this is because they are good teachers and i want them to be better! one more thing that pisses me off DONT HATE! they keep dissing eddie bravo thats not sportsmanship!
  • @theflyingpharaohmido please correct me if im wrong, because my understanding is that helio is the founder, perhaps im being closed minded to believe that? i agree with the online belt testing being business, and its definitely not the best way to progress, but you do have to show a thorough understanding of the required techniques to pass. and as far as dissing eddie bravo, this is the first ive heard of that..

  • @beatjugglez ofcourse he is not the founder thats what i was saying the guy is a LEGEND no doubt about it but he is not the founder he learnt jiu jitsu in brazil like many others and then came to america he made it popular in america but it comes from brazil i mean he received his black belt from his master how could he be the founder?! he was a student still MUCH RESPECT now if u go to brazil they dont like the gracis that much because the keep saying that they are the founders.
  • @theflyingpharaohmido

Helio IS the founder of BJJ.

Who the hell do you think it was LOL

  • @theflyingpharaohmido

The reason why you run into many guys who say Helio is the founder of BJJ is because its true.

Helio IS the founder of BJJ.

Tell me, who did YOU think was the founder?

Ive NEVER run into anyone else apart from you who doesnt know Helio is the founder.

    LOL

  • @SkemeKOS dude please just dont talk about stuf you dont know ask any guy from brazil and he would tell you the gracies learnt the game from the japaneses and said we founded this WTF

history is history you cant change history helio didnt found shit he did innovate some techniques and he is agreat jiu jitsu practiocioner dont get me wrong but if it were like that then eddie bravo founded jiu jitsu also did ryan hall

  • @theflyingpharaohmido

    Helio DID found GJJ(BJJ)

And Eddie Bravo DID found his style of jiu jitsu(10th planet)

And Bruce Lee founded JKD(Jeet kune do)

You need to give respect where its due, my friend.

And dont say I dont know what Im talking about.

  • @SkemeKOS whatever man there is no point of arguing with you really helio is a great master but he didnt invent the techniques he was just a student 95% of todays bjj came from judo

    but whatever

  • @theflyingpharaohmido

I didnt say he invented the techniques, just that he founded the art of GJJ.

It doesnt matter where BJJ comes from, just as it doesnt matter where JKD or 10th Planet Jiu jitsu comes from.

What matters who founded those STYLES and principles that define those arts.

Let me ask you a question - who is the founder of the very 1st jiu jitsu technique/style?

  • @SkemeKOS we dont know thats why you shouldnt say that a particaular person is the founder

dude dont get me wrong the gracies are legends they introduced jiu jitsu to the world but helio didnt found jiu jitsu he was a student who earned his black belt from his master how could he be the founder

this game evolved through out hundreds of years and is still evolving seriously the japaneses are the ones to thank for this great art who names a martial art after his family name anyway?!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @theflyingpharaohmido Helio was taught Japanese Jiu Jitsu as a reward for helping his friend..His friend didn't have money so instead he said that he'll teach him and his sons Jiu Jitsu...Royce was the one that wasn't allowed to really train with the brothers as much and in result of years of see techniques he would change them and on one day the brothers said to their clients we can't teach today so Royce said can i and they laughed and said OK after the client had said he wanted Royce teach it

  • @JordyBT wrong, helio never even met maeda,he was too young, carlos learned judo ,not juijitsu from maeda and later taught all the other brothers. You are also confusing helio with his own son royce

  • @SkemeKOS you dont know what your talking about

  • @macka737 Yes, I do.

  • @SkemeKOS there was no founder, carlos learned judo and then started to adapt it along with helio and the entire family over the nexr 80 yrs or so.

  • the fact is that this art branched off from judo when helio started adapting techniques, just as judo branched off when kano continued jujutsu. kano's judo doesnt emphasize the ground techniques as much as bjj does. bjj became its own thing even with its roots in judo. and the gracie family simply founded this particular offshoot of japanese jujutsu.

  • @Tarius729 its an offshoot of judo not jujitsu, the gracies never learned any jujitsu and neither did maeda.

  • @scarred10 youre crazy. where do you think judo came from? kano adapted it from traditional jujutsu. at the time maeda went over to brazil, some people were still calling judo "kano jujutsu"

  • @Tarius729 thats right ,he adapted it,he started to use sparring as the main training method so discarded the crap that didnt work, thats why judo works and japjitsu doesnt so well for most people. They were calling it jujitsu but it wasnt, jujitsu had virtually no sparring, little to no groundwork(due to battlefield needs),it was trained via 2 man compliant forms like it still is in japan.

  • What would you do if he DOES straightens his arm in the middle of the kimura? I was on the mount one time and my opponent had arms of steel. I tried to apply a kimura and he straightened his arm enough to avoid it but not enough for me to armbar it. How do you force him to bend his elbow or what transition do you recommend?

  • @cubaninc I've found that if you'll just hold that position until you can get your leg over the back, you can loop your leg over his arm briefly to break it back down into a good control angle. If it's someone that's just inhumanly fucking strong, just keep fighting for inches and crawling your legs up his back. He'll tap or you'll take his arm home.

  • this guy will submit me in like 5 seconds with just looking at me hahaha

  • Why does he yell like a retarded kid?

  • @ luizinho81 in the 80s before the ufc era they did also i do mma let me tell you someone on top of u hitting you and you dont know any ground fighting /techniques your just going to get your face smashed in also there are good gracie fighters in mma fighting isnt just about a punch a kick a knee a elbow and as for bruce he said be formless like water ? you say mma have real experts in all these arts ? mma isnt 1 art its a mix and what did any gracie do to those with one art beat them with subs

  • @ luizinho81 have you never seen the early ufc ? not real fighters ? ken shamrock not a real fighter and jodo champ Remco Pardoel and art jimmerson the boxer arnt real fighters ???? what you on about they where all trained in single arts and you clearly dont watch mma then if you say they get dominated ? all so before the ufc mma era the gracies dominated every art they fought with the ufc that they came up with they made people realize the importance of ground fighting

  • @domokunAA with all respect to you. This really works, I have done things like this to lots guys like you that doubt about Gracie Jiu-jitsu/Karate techniques work in the streets. And I am not even a black belt.

  • Best instructional videos on youtube by far. "Expert" village ought to check this out.

  • gracies are weak they all just live in the gym afraid to fight they always get beat by mua tai experts besides with rules bjj is good is it better then judo or jiu jitsu is as good bjj alone is no good i have seen bjj fighters get beat by mma in real life in the streets bjj you would have to be stupid to used it rather use judo never on the ground

  • @luizinho81 And you would have to be stupid to assume that mma doesn't include a lot of bjj submissions.

  • @domokunAA never said it didn't include it besides bjj is derived from jiu jitus just it isn't pracitical on the streets i would love to see you use bjj on the streeets and get your ass ripppedd hahahah but you probably would love that if it was a gracie you homo

  • @luizinho81 is that why royce gracie won ufc 1 ?????

  • @TheBmike1 there were not even any real fighter then now you have real experts trained in mma like judo bjj jiu jitusu karate taekowndo muya tai kickboxing etc do you see any of this gracies dominating mma no!and if they do fight in mma they get dominated by others who have mastered all forms off martial arts even bruce lee said just one form of martial arts is not sufficient he was beyond his time!all this guys are good for is teaching in their dojo and staying there!peace

  • @luizinho81 Except that using bjj in a street fight just wouldn't be practical anyone would know that. I mean you're not even supposed to be using this shit in street fights anyways. But yeah just keep acting like a badass behind your computer screen bro it suits you well.

  • @luizinho81 your an idiot, learn some respect. bjj is great for streetfights

  • Shit... kid five in from the left is one big 12 year old! Great great teacher here, where is your academy? I'd love to take a few classes if I get the opportunity.

  • this move is boss won so many matches with it. but be careful you dont need to use that much strength to break the shoulder. boss but dangerous move

  • "this move is boss"

    ??

wtf is "boss" supposed to mean? Where are you from?

  • the kid actually asked for them to change direction so he could see... dang, those kids actually want to learn martial arts! he wasn't lying when he said they were focused. i've never seen that in a kids martial arts class before.

  • a mulakada la atrás num ta nem prestando atenção rsrsrsrsrss...

    bom JIU JÍTSU pra vcs.

  • i dont think the Jr. Grapplers could see this technique because of his angle lol

  • man everyone postures back with me so annoying i never can get kimura

  • Thats because your full guard is weak.

  • yea its improved ta

i jsut pulll higher guard and drag them down

  • Yeah? Good to hear,All it itakes is time and most Importantly Expirience. Also doing squats at Home will Help. Good Luck Rolling

  • the set up hes showing is for use against someone who has no training, not another grappler, youll never get a trained man to put their hand on the ground like that in full guard.

  • haha that makes total sense then cuz i never see the kimura from the ground

  • @billysue2 I figured that, too. But is the kimura so regular? If not, their arms, maybe wailing, wouldn't be an obstacle still unless they predicted my applying the kimura, particularly if someones on top with the cross.

  • @Efferts that isnt even the english language.

  • is he on cocaine? he's very manic

  • Are you kidding me? How can it be explained any better? Bravo! Long live GJJ!

  • Can they be any better? Geesh, impressive.

  • again another awesome lesson by Rener!

  • I love this move

  • this guy is born to teach. Nobody can teach better than him

  • lol

  • THis guy is a great teacher. He speaks well, has much understanding and is passionate about teaching

  • at 1:33, why not just go for a guillotine ?

  • simply because they are teaching here how to apply the kimura....

  • I'm not sure why but some people just don't tap when i put them in guillotine, it maybe just my poor guillotine grip but this kimura is more effective i think...

  • The reason why is proble for a couple of reasons. 1. You might be leaving to much space in the guillotine. Remember to look upwards and make it tight! 2. If it is not in a good grip people tend to escape better that way so if there is a chance to escape why tap? Like I said make sure its tight!!! 3. The reason why they most likely tap more often with the kimura is that they know you have it and they can feel the pain of there arm getting bent into the wrong direction and they know it will break!

  • I'm no teacher but I hope this helps!

  • keep your guard tight, push your hips up, and look up and back...flex ur arms and keep a tight grip

  • You can if the other person is very very determined to try to get up. If he tries really hard to lift his head up you can easily get the guillotine. This scenario is for when the person rests so you go for the kimura

  • That was a nice move i like that technique a lot i was just practicing the riding variation of the kimura. This one is nice too. Thank you for the post and keep up the good work.

  • An Americana goes the OTHER way

  • How is this the Americana?

  • That's a crazy technique, lol I might use it for the NABJJ tournament. Thanks guys

  • Really nice. i love to see those kids fighting in play ground.lol. kimura left his name with a judo move.Don't get me wrong I have the greatest respect for ne waza. Mr. Shina ,8th dan, of japan judo taught us first and foremost as juniors that we were to never try these techniques in anger. they were to be used only as a last resort in a situation where we were forced to fight. Kids will be kids. Even I as a kid wondered how well it would work in a real fight. responsibility is key. respectfully

  • youre awesome.

  • Nice work. I can't wait to come back to class, I get my cast off soon.

  • thanks

  • I love this variation.

  • Great work guys!
