A girl the other day claimed that I dont talk to her becuz im supposedly emo. It was true that I had never talked to her, but I wasnt emo. to answer the question people don't like emos for 2 main reasons: Ither there afraid of them or are jelouse. Now me pearsonally i don't hate emos (mainly because i've seen so manny). To answer the question "why do people hate emos?": it's because the stereotype of an emo is an individual who is "depressed" and participates in self-harming activity as a gimmick for attention. I'm not saying that that's all emos are (I understand that the majority of emo culture is the music and fashion), it just disgusts me that a lot of the culture has been built around the patronization of the idea of depression.

I hate emo because it is an abusive mentality. They are under the impression that different opinions hurt people and that is obviously not true. They are also hypocritical in that they say they will go on with their lives no matter what anyone says, yet they demand that people have to like them no matter what their genetic coding tells them about the emo mindset. Also, not all "meaningful" music is emo. Evanescence is technically classed as "Gothic Metal" and I'm absolutely in love with it.

Most of my closest friends r emo so i pisses me off when people say shit bout how all emos like to do is cut themselves. to answer the question people don't like emos for 2 main reasons: Ither there afraid of them or are jelouse. Now me pearsonally i don't hate emos (mainly because i've seen so manny). In my mind emo means original and interesting. I've listened to manny emos tell me their most darkest secrets and by listening to them i understand that they are just as human as we are. To answer the question "why do people hate emos?": it's because the stereotype of an emo is an individual who is "depressed" and participates in self-harming activity as a gimmick for attention. I'm not saying that that's all emos are (I understand that the majority of emo culture is the music and fashion), it just disgusts me that a lot of the culture has been built around the patronization of the idea of depression.

I hate emo because it is an abusive mentality. They are under the impression that different opinions hurt people and that is obviously not true. They are also hypocritical in that they say they will go on with their lives no matter what anyone says, yet they demand that people have to like them no matter what their genetic coding tells them about the emo mindset. Also, not all "meaningful" music is emo. Evanescence is technically classed as "Gothic Metal" and I'm absolutely in love with it.
