  • Hard to find really good original takes on a guitar master piece like this one, yours is outstanding! Duane would be proud of you. :) I think Leo would dig it too. Good job!

  • not like the original version ,but so, so ,very good , i mean realy outstanding

  • Awesome.

  • cool cover man :) check out my cover too please!

  • Brilliantly played.

  • you look a lot like James Taylor

  • That guitar sounds HUGE. I love it!

  • @tremoloheart

Thanks t.h. -- I have it in open D (DADF#AD) with a capo on the 2nd fret which makes it open E.

  • The intensity of effort in playing this tune was as good as the tune itself. Damn nice pickin'.

  • very nice job on this! Great tempo too. I hate it when people try and rush it.

  • Very nice job.. you play with a lot of warmth and feeling. Nice guitar, too.

  • Very nice. Very close to the original.

  • SMOOTH!

  • wow! such feeling...

  • interesting version, what type of guitar is that, great tone....

  • Tough nut to crack. Good job man. Is that a Collings?

  • @toastedmonkee

    Thanks. It's a Collings CJ.

  • I clicked on this video just to listen to it, minimized this page, and thought it was actually Duane, until I finished what I was doing and saw the last half of the video.

    Bravo.

  • well done. Just a great accoustic piece of music. Still miss Duane.

  • yeah, very nice interpretation.

  • A very fine piece of music! Excellent, many thanks.

  • You nailed it man...beautiful feel. Respect. Peace out.

  • Brilliant! Thanks.

  • Superb!

  • open e... hes good...he had a hard time on the same part I do...and he made the same gut wrenching face i do when im tryin to conquer the song, which ill never do

  • wonderful tune.

  • great job!

  • Fantastic playin'!!

  • can be in E or D very easy to learn but looks hard to play. will turn heads its a nice song

  • Great job!!!!

  • Very, very, very nice

  • great job. except for the dico interlude in the middle..but that's just me. Thanks

  • So good.

  • Fantastic!

  • r u in open e

  • open D

  • excellent

  • awesome man

  • nice!

  • nice playing and that Collings sounds heavenly

  • i could watch this all day

  • One of the best versions I've heard - a virtual dead-ringer for the real thing.

Just got back from seeing ABB in NYC at the Beacon and posted a couple videos from it. The quality isn't the best (old and early Nikon Coolpix) but hey . . . I was there!

  • Nice one man - I play it in openE - same shapes - the tricky bit is not to rush the harmonics, which 8 out of 10 times I fail to do - but hey we're only human!

    Regards, John

  • That is some great guitar face.

  • amazing, just amazing. im gonna try to learn this song asap. and hopefully itll sound just like when you ploay it c: though i have my doubts about that

  • That was really great. I think you play that as well as I have ever heard anyone play it...I would also like to know what guitar you are playing. There are not a lot of guitar players who can transfer the real feeling of the song like you did in this video.

  • Thanks -- the guitar is a Collings CJ.

  • That guitar has such a lush sound to it.

    Well played also.

  • Just beautiful... hated for it to end. Sure wish I was able to play like that.

  • ...man im impressed......~.~

  • You are amazing, i wish Duane was here to see you.

  • Thanks for listening! I wish Duane was here too . . .

  • Real pretty rendition, great job, and what a rich sounding guitar you have! What kind is it?

  • In a word....outstanding!

    Thanks.

  • I was looking for the peace this song can bring, and you provided it. Beautiful.

  • rich sounding guitar

  • very nice playing, greetings from germany

  • Headstock indicates Collings

Not sure which model: maybe a C-series

    Well played, redavide1

  • Thanks for the comment -- guitar is a standard Collings CJ.

  • Hey My Friend, This is outstanding. You play it very well. Please enlighten on your set up. Type of guitar, strings, tunings ETC.

  • The sound is just beautiful-you did a terrific job on that. Kind of reminds me of Alex de Grassi's sound. Very clear and ringing and yet mellow. Gorgeous job man.

  • Outstanding!

  • You play beautifully! Your guitar sounds very warm and very responsive to the nuances that you want it to exude. I play the same tune since I was in college and I'm a businessman now, but still manage to perform a couple og live gigs every week and I would always include that on my 3rd set as closing out song. And I have not witnessed any performance of Little Martha with so much emotion like you delivered iun this video.

From Manila, Philippines, I say, "MABUHAY!" and God bless...

  • Great job, beautiful sounding guitar. I am currently learning Bron-Yr-Aur by Zeppelin. Perhaps when I get much better I can try to do this masterpiece as well.

  • I dig it. Nice touch!!

  • Phenomenal playing, excellent facial expressions. I can literally see what you feel. Thanks!

  • very nice playing

  • Yes the Allman Bro's played many of there songs in E B E G# B E tuning because that is what almost all of slide guitarists use so dunae thought to himself, well i dont feel like changing tunings so he wrote some song that didn't even have slide in them like this one in that tuning also. When i play this song i don't use a capo. i just tune it up to open E

  • The only reason I use a capo is because I use heavier strings that put a lot of tension on the neck when you tune them up to open E. If you tune down to open D and use a capo, tension on the neck isn't an issue.

  • ahhh smart never thought about that

  • what brand guitar is that it sounds HUGE..Big bass bright treble great sound

  • You play with alot of emotion.Beautiful job. What make guitar is that? sounds very nice.

  • wow very good job and ur rigth it is in E when they play on eat a peach and ive been listenin to the bros all my life which is like 18 years lol but god i cant stop listenin to them there amazing rip skidog cant w8 to see them at the becan this april ABB4life

  • What open key is the guitar in?

    thanks

  • Open D with a capo on the second fret making it open E.

  • Thanks, also do you know who played it for the ABs? And was it 2 guitars? Did they do it the way you did the open D-> capo -> sounding E?

Also, have you seen the ABs recently? They are at an incredible plateau right now - Derek and Warren SMOKE! I have heard Greg say they are playing better than ever since the 60s and I believe it.

Also, if you can catch Derek's Band it is a great show. He did a Ravi Shankar orchestral piece with a slide! Amazing.

    thanks,

    will

  • Will, On "Eat a Peach", Duane Allman and Dicky Betts played thus tune on 2 guitars. I believe the tune was in E -- I don't know if they tuned up to E or down to D with a capo. I've been listening to the ABB on and off for the last 35 years with a lot of pleasure. There have been many excellent guitarists over the years, including the two current ones.

  • I'm sure you get this all the time - but what model Collings is this? Sounds gorgeous!

  • It's a Collings Jumbo, also known as a "CJ".

  • OF COURSE it sounds better than a martin or a taylor... IT IS A COLLINGS!!!

  • very nice sound, unique version

  • very nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great stuff , the cleanest version of this great tune on YouTube .

  • Great stuff , the cleanest version of this great tune on YouTube.

  • It's pure and it's simple ..and there's just no easy way to get it done. Thank you!

  • The guitar sounds very nice. Much better than a Martin/Taylor.

  • Marvelous play and great mimics :)

  • Excellent playing and great sound.

    Stuart

  • I always look forward to your videos. Thanks.
