Yes it's kind of laggy when opened up browser and Media player. But it's a start of something I guess. Sorry my video wasn't mean to be a professional review. It's just to show how it works on N900. I didn't have the time to play with it that much. Because it's totally unusable for everyday usage.
@sergiobanguer No it's alright bud. This is still a DE version after all. It is far from being used by users. But I think it is a slow start and hopefully it picks up some paste and one day we can see this platform on the market for consumers. I can only hope, seems to be less chance since Nokia moved away.
@M4TM777 Personalise won't work properly. Change wallpaper will basically stuck on the picture mode. The only thing that changeable is the theme. Hope this help. Wait for future release.
@miksuh that noise is my Sony DSLR camera set to autofocusing when recording. It constantly refocusing when I change the distant and light. I set it up wrong lol.
@maxxikhmer Ok, I was asking this because I've often seen Chrome browser on MeeGo, especially in the netbook release. It would have been crap if it includes Chrome by default, the main reason why I'm interested in MeeGo is the open-source platform whithout Google in the back.
@slimthuggles Alright i'll make it when i get to work. My work computer had all the necessary tools and image file for it. But it's not recommended for beginner.
Looks awesome! And finally it's gonna be done at the end of this month. Love the multitasking and the virtual keyboard looks like the best! Very spaced out. Definitly getting a MeeGophone. You're showing the 1.1.99 version so that probably means that MeeGo is right on schedule. This thing is gonna go big.
Hint: Running from a slow flash Class 6 Memory card.... Loading time would greatly reduce if running on SOC flash with higher bandwidth. But also this is not the usable version, hint: DE pre-release RC1
@PS3AuRoN89 Yeah so far it's doing much better than NitDroid in term of smoothness and usability. On the Tablet UX Camera actually works (not perfect but work). Haven't tried on this image yet. Hint I only just testing it.
I got my Info from the MeeGo.com site. If you look hard enough you'll see the timeline of each release on a single page. No MeeGo doesn't have colour Icons at the moment (Hint: still Developing Edition). The MeeGO you saw might have been the Intel Tablet MeeGO UX. Hope this answered your questions

What's that cracling noise in the background? Is your harddrive reading / writing like crazy or are you in Fukushima and using geiger counter? :D

There's something I don't understand about MeeGo. Is the integrated web browser Chrome or Fennec???
b4ptx 11 months ago
@b4ptx No Chrome! chrome is google, chrome is not opensource, chrome is for android! fennec is mozilla and it's opensource
