Question! I have a 7mo old, 21 lbs. His face has been rashy (patchy, dry looking skin with fine bumps, red)..also red fine bumps on his whole body. No fever. Just seems itchy and dry. Has had recurrrent thrush. Given nystatin. Ped has given me no answers for this time around. help!

Sometimes this is caused by yeast. Other times though, it is caused by a vitamin deficiency. I was able to heal this problem by taking a centrum daily multivitamin for men. After years of this condition, the cracks healed completely after 1 week. I suffered with this problem for years. In my case, it was being caused by a vitamin deficiency. People need to be careful. You can end up with staph infection from bacteria getting inside these sores. Trust me, you don't want that.

I do not think this is caused by yeast...because uhm...it doesen't burn or itch, well mine. so, I think mine is because of chapped lips.

Thank you Dr. Shultz. Keeping the cream on through out the day is key. In my experience. Using rubbing alcohol to clean before reapplying helps. Is Angular Cheilitis the same as Perleche? I have very dry skin in the winter and my saliva glands have always work overtime. The dentist has to put two suction things in my moutch, no joke. Putting vasiline ontop of the antifungil cream is a great way to seal in the medicine. Thank you for providing info and not a ad for a book about a miracle cure.

hey! i have something wrong with my lips my lips are black on the corners i dont know why it's disgusting i vant even talk to anyone. i went to the doc's and they said that i dont have enough iron in my body or something they gave me some cream called aqueous cream, and said to me that i have to have a blood test so i'll have to go back for my blood test. can someone reply me please

@aleyshaable Based on the information provided, a yeast infection is a much more likely cause of a rash at the corners of the mouth than iron deficiency. An over-the-counter topical anti-yeast preparation, applied 4-6x daily, may well be helpful.

@aleyshaable well, it has faded a its def not as dark as it used to be but it is not completely gone I had it since 2009 nine and when i look at some old pics before I noticed the onset. Ive been taking my prenatal vitamins and eating well since finding out im expecting. :) My next mission is to add more greens to my diet spinach broccoli aspargus anything green. I used vitamin E oil for face and body along with that too. I still havent found this polysporin theyve been talking about.

@aleyshaable yea i think def has to do with iron...since taking supplements for a few months now I noticed the difference. When i went to the doctor to get my blood tested for iron defiency they said I was great. Maybe u should take the test then take iron pills.

@aleyshaable the best way for me was not doing nothing with it, I went to see my doctor and she said it is best if i just pretend is not there - it was pretty hard for me to just pretend it was not there when theres people staring at me when talking but in a week or 2, i could tell the blackness was fading and now you can bearly see it but is still lefted like a uneven skin tone >< i hope this helps

@dermTVdotcom Hey, I used to have eczema around my lips and it caused discolourations on the top of my lips, and the corners, they are all darker so is there any how I can turn in back to my normal skin colour. The area has healed but it's just really dark due to before.
