At :24 I hear "Are you a good budgie boy?" Then directly after that I hear "Hey whatchu.....doing?" At :34 I hear "Whatchu, whatchu say, I can't.....hear you." Directly after that I hear "Wish you could talk, damnit. Musta got a crap parrot." At :44 I hear "Wish you'd talk, try to talk." .......not sure what the rest of the stuff is. Haha...it's so funny though, once you hear it you'll know ...I have taken transcription at work and when I listen intently I usually can figure out words.

budgies, parrots and parakeets all come from the same genus. yes the budgies do come from Australia, but they are also very closely related to parrots.

@Bleuazulblue if you just got a budgie leave him in teh cage for at least 2 days and do not make fast movements around the cage and after he gets used to his/her new home slowly put your hand near the cage and leave it there each day move closer!

My female looks like a diluted version of Phil. She was intently listening to him and all fluffed up and happy when she heard him talking. (We assume she is a she...we ought to just take the two we have and get them DNA tested, we're getting two more on Monday! Yay!)

@WildCatNet I challenge you to find something with even a shred of credibility that says that budgies are not parrots. Seriously. Challenge. Wikipedia says they are. First non-Wikipedia site Google pulled up on them says they are. Every bird book I've ever seen in my life says they are. And they LOOK and ACT just like parrots (albeit very small ones). I know most people think "macaw" when they hear the word "parrot", but macaws are not the only sort of parrot out there.

getting two at the same time if you want them to talk is a bad idea. get them separately so that they'll bond with you and want to imitate you. if you get them at the same time, they'll imitate each other... which will be VERY loud
