with an sbr form registered to that rifle can you put any upper you want on it? short barreled or not? any caliber etc? or does it have to stay the same ?
I own a 5.56 AR and don't see any point in getting this. I know it's cheaper than a 9mm AR, but it's just my opinion. I have a lot of money so I can afford the more expensive firearms. To all people looking into buying a 9mm firearm, I would say buy a pistol, it's cheap. Glock and Beretta make great pistols. I see this 9mm AR as a large pistol. I have fired this and its is really no fun
@AirsoftingSuccess: People who own 9mm AR15's find purpose in them and people who don't own them don't see the purpose in them. Although I agree with you saying to buy a handgun instead, it's actually more ideal in terms of home defense. Since a 5.56 is a rifle round, it can penetrate through your wall, into your neighbor's wall, and, hehe, even into your neighbor.
For AR15 enthusiasts who want to use a different caliber from a 5.56 or a .22, the 9mm option is a way to go.
@Blemo23 I see what you're saying.. When on the range a 5.56mm is more ideal, but when it comes to house defense, an "assault rifle" is more menacing looking and tactical, I'm sure if a robber saw a 9mm AR-15, or a Beretta M92, the AR would be the more frightening. Never really thought of it like that. Now I might invest in one hehe :-)
@AirsoftingSuccess: Haha, it's not much of a fun range gun, but it truly is much more menacing-looking than some handgun. My family owns a 16" one in the house, and for sixteen years, we only took it out to the range twice and it never fired more than 200 rounds in our possession. In those 16 years, we cleaned it more times than we actually took it out to a range, haha... but overall, we're just glad that we never had to use it in our own home. :)
how much would it cost me to invest in one these guns? I plan on getting myself a rifle and i was originally thinking a 5.56 ar-15 but some of them cost a fortune where i live so I was thinking getting a 9mm one since the ammunition is cheaper. whats your recomendation?
That's a pretty little SBR. My RRA doesn't always like C-products, and it's a 5.56. I have to run it with mil-spec or Lancers if I want reliable feeding.
I'm interested in getting an AR, is it legal if I register it as sbr and have like a 10 incher, and switch out to a 16 incher with the same lower? I want an ar for both hunting/plinking and also home defense, but I don't really want to buy two lowers
Ummm......that's DEFINITELY NOT A 10.5" BARREL, I have an 11.5" 5.56mm upper, and mine even looks shorter than the one I see here. I wouldn't be surprised if that barrel was chopped and threaded from a full size....they do that ya know. Not tryin to be a jerk, I just like when people get their facts straight.......
@striker101nicary once you register a lower as an SBR you can put whatever length on it you want and if you register it as multi caliber you can use whatever caliber you want
you might want to check the magazines from Spike Tactical, looks like people are saying that they are made on the old metalform tooling, if so good stuff.
I'd prefer something like a carbine or something, semi auto for accuratcy with small caliber (such as the 9mm). I must confess that i know very little about that gun you have on here, is it full auto?
Sorry this isn't a reply, my commenting space at the bottom isn't working but:
I think you should record and post more videos like these, listening to actual conversations is my new favorite way to get information. You all also show how knowlagable you are. I really love this style of video, I think we can all benifit from this type of learning. Or entertainment.
@GunWebsites Hell yeah, I think the reason I enjoy watching the range videos so much is because I get to listen to the conversations in the background lol. Plus you guys seem real down to earth and not uppity or salesmen like a certain other youtuber I wont mention any names *cough* (FutnNancy) *cough* XD Greta vid thanks for posting!
I think they have a lower that will take Glock 9mm magazines now, don't know if it's been around a while. I just hate that you have to give the ATF 200.00 just to make a SBR.
I built one from a Model 1 Sales kit, a Lauer Custom Weapons lower in 9mm. The Model 1 block works great with the plastic Promag magazines and also with the stainless steel C Products mags. My AR is totally reliable and accurate. Try the C Products block or buy one from Model 1 Sales. Just don't try to use them with a Olympic 9mm set up. The Olympic uses a bastard propriatary bolt and a funky magazine they make.
The longer the barrel of a rifle the better stopping power at longer ranges. The speed stays up longer. I think a 7-10" barrel with a 5.56 is really taking away any stopping power it had. With 9mm you need all the help you can get. I usually shoot at 50 yards with 9mm and out to 300 with 5.56.
I wonder if you could put a longer upper on that SBR. That way if the situation arises that you need something with a longer or shorter barrel, you'd be all set. Doesn't sound like it would break any ATF rules, but you never know.
try metalform magazines, they seem to be the top notched 9mm AR magazines

I've seen a 16"legal type at shooters world-intristing gun! I wander if if it uses UZI mag's or what? What kind of accuracy would you get?

I'd prefer something like a carbine or something, semi auto for accuratcy with small caliber (such as the 9mm). I must confess that i know very little about that gun you have on here, is it full auto?

morgan191 2 years ago
not 'ticked off'
This is not a full auto (just a short barrel)
There are a bunch of short rifles that shoot 9mm, not many with wood though

when the mag is put into the gun , it kinda looks awkward lol , i dunno but maybe its just me.
gastbyluv 2 years ago 6
sure, it takes a while getting used to.. until you are the one buying the ammo, LOL
Most people I know use these in tactical or 3-gun matches because it's cheaper to shoot than 5.56x45

would rather have the 223

Ghost56207 2 years ago
The 5.56 round that a normal
M4 uses is much longer than a
9mm round therefore the Mag looks
like it does not belong. But the
cheaper cost of 9mm ammo makes
it worth it.
