  • you guys on here talking ish about kipping apparently haven't tried butterfly kipping pullups. Sure, we all do dead hang pull ups and that's fine, but try those (if you can get the movement down) and see. Yea it's kind of "cheating" but in terms of the overall mechanics esp doing them correctly burns the hell out of ur entire body--just watch out that you don't rip your skin off in the process....not a fun thing.

  • This one is a good routine for the whole upper body (back, chest, biceps, and triceps).

  • Kipping is useless. Do them strict from dead-hang for full work and results, intensity and overal work out! :P

    im 13 202lbs dope free and i can do over 50 wide grip ones from dead hang no legs no kipping no momentum none of that. :)

  • @aznerd999 LOL no. I've had mine for 3 years now and its not done any damage. I put a towel between the bar and door to make sure it doesn't leave marks.

  • @thetampon23 you can't adjust the bar size. look at the dimensions first before ordering.

  • im nervous to get a pull up bar.. im sorta on the heavy side.. lets say about 250... but i wanna do the P90x program.. and my house is pretty old .. id say about 20 years old.. but uhh.. not sure if my door frame will hold my weight or if it will break or rip the door frame if possible.. can anyone help with suggestions or alternatives??

  • @bigb281 You can get resistance bands and wrap them around the pull up bar. I have a friend of mine who is 240 and the bar held him.

    1.) Your form is horrible lol, you shouldn't jerk and use momentum, that defeats the purpose of getting a back workout.

    2.) You should have tooken a 60-90 sec rest between your rest, so it would be kind of easier, you did like a quadruple set, ouch...

  • how well does your pull up bar hold up? does it push up against the sheet rock above the door frome? I ordered my pull up bar but am a little worried if it will hold up or not.

  • Great. I've had it for a year. I put a towel behind the handles so it does not mark up the molding.

  • You aren't even doing these properly. You're throwing you legs up for momentum which doesn't get as good a work out if you went up fast and went down slowly without throwing body weight

  • @cmubrad Try to keep your form consistent and smooth. Shoot up fast and come down slow. If you can't go up all the way without throwing your legs out then concentrate on fewer reps to build up the strength first.

    Thanks. I had the same issue when I got the bar. Found a door that works near my dumbbells and bands with some space and was all set.

  • Good demonstration bro! I have the p90x pull up bar, but my house is so retarded that every single door in the house is right next to a corner, leaving no room for the bar's ends. I dont have any doors that are just in the center of a wall like the one you're demonstrating with. Its hard to explain...anyways at least i can use it for push ups! lol
