Haters gonna hate. Autocross is a legal, safe and inexpensive way to go out and push your car to the limits. It's always fun and you meet some great people. So many of the techniques learned in autox can be used to make you a safer driver on the street as well. It's great that there are schools like this out there!
Thanks for all the comments, folks. For those of you not familiar with the sport of autocross check out the Sport Car Club of America's (SCCA) web site. A great many of the road racers, like Randy Pobst for instance, got their start in autocross. A lot of our events are populated with off-season road racers sharpening their responses. Give the sport a try. It's real grassroots racing!
I was just learning FCP and couldn't for the life of me figure out how to get a 16x9 output to mp4. I finally did figure it out but haven't got around to fishing out this video from the storage to repost it. My bad.
heh... those that haven't tried it, don't know how much fun, and how much better a driver autox makes your. Drag racing is for fast cars... Autocross is for fast drivers!!
Or fast cars and fast drivers ;) But yeah after autoXing it really makes me wonder. There are a lot of drivers on the road that wouldn't know what to do in a scenario where you have to get out of the way of something or keep from loosing control of the car..

Well, that reply was really mature. Look. All I was saying is that these schools, opportunities and videos MAY tempt SOME people to drive like this on real streets. I'm glad that you are responsible. Besides, I think driving around on an endless, perfectly flat, clean, dry tarmac surface is like playing poker with play money :) Even formula 1 tracks have level differences (and boundaries:)) Try a race track (like I do). That's the real fun.
People will drive like that regardless of the things you listed. It is about self control, not the influences. And I'm not QUITE at the Formula 1 level just yet, so I'll stick to my boring stretches of tarmac, thank you very much.
ummm yea all these cars are very easy to control and handle... if i were an instructor, i would have those people driving like an 87 caprice or like an 80's marquis or crown vic.. then give them the easy cars.. o and for the record, Honda Civics are gay.. thank u
ive also been a student at this school amazing instructors and its so much more fun then drag racing, just spent 20 bucks to go out and weave between cones, i even got my dad to do it, anyone whos a confident (or wants to become a confident) driver belongs here instaed of the drag track.. i mean, whats the fun of driving in a straight line?

They probably want to do it on real roads. I'll stay home!

Nah, autocrossing is a legal and very safe way to push your car to the limits. Thats why so many of us do that as opposed to street racing.
So stay home and cuddle with your Camry while we have all the fun. One less retard driving while talking on a cell phone.

Why would you want to learn performance driving in a car that handles like a cow on rollerskates?

LOL crown vics will suprise you. They're cop cars for a reason..
drewd1987 3 years ago
They suck
simplecrs13 2 years ago
@drewd1987 They're heavily modified... the only reason they use the crown vic is because it is big, same reason taxis use them.
