Confusion, he states. wow! Gus fells partly obligated. Nat deserves better. Im glad 2 know, liv & nat found each other & declared it with the world...never have they love another like this..true soulmates
It was known, if you watch some of even earlier clips you will see the foreshadowing. After Olivia finds out she's dying, tells only Gus, he constantly reassures her that he is not going to let her die.
Dr Rick to Olivia: somebody who is almost a complete stranger is responsible for me being alive. So, who knows, maybe that person is out there for you, too. LOL We can all say it together - Natalia! The writing team weren't nominated for an Emmy? This is a travesty.

I was wondering, when this whole storyline was going on, was it known that Gus was leaving the show? Or was it a surprise when he died?

Heart failure (dilated cardiomyopathy), Olivia found out in Nov 07. I believe the date is 11/28/07.
