@FordGTmustang2000 Because it was from a roll and took my traction issues out of the equation. He does make more peak torque at a higher RPM, but my Cobalt makes max torque from 2500 RPM all the way across the RPM range until 7k RPM where it starts to taper off. A lot of people get wrapped up in peak numbers, but its the overall curve that matters, as you can see. If the GT and I had of gone from a roll, it would've been wayyyy worse for him.
@tie42013 No worries, lol. We both went to the track two weekends ago. He ran a best of 13.46 at 103 on a 1.9 60', and I pulled off a 13.42 at 106 on a 2.2 60'. Really shows where both cars pull and where they're weak points are as well. His Cobra out launches me pretty good when he gets it right, but once we get moving, the SS pulls him pretty good.
I was really surprised too, Stale. I couldn't of been in my power band in better though. That accounted for that initial gain. Its definitely the power under the curve that counts. Gearing is playing a big part too. Can't wait to see how they stack up this spring at the track. Some 4.10s would put us a lot closer for sure.
(Cobra owner) Just did a tune up and modded the Cobra with a JLT, ignition, and Bama tune. Car has never felt this strong so I was amazed at the results. I couldn't believe how fast the SS pulled on me rite from the start. He literally pulled several car lengths on the initial hit and kept pulling until I hit 100+ then I still was not catching up with him so I shut it down. It really is the power under the curve that counts. (Cobra also has K&N / 80mm MAS and offroad H-pipe)

Agree...ppl look at peak power too much and not at how that power is put to the ground or how it is in the rpm curve

This vid seems like bs to me. That cobra should be able to take that balt, I have stage 3 balt videos where the balts get smashed by bolt ons.
