These machines all acoustic but designed to play electrically recorded records which were available from 1925 and onward, These Victor Orthophonic Victrolas functioned on a changable needle steel needle system. Where you advised to change the needs after each play or every other play. As long as you faithfully change the needles, the records will last for a long time. If you neglect to change your needles, your record will eventually be destroyed !!

Gee, look at that record player cabinet! It's massive, but wouldn't that large needle ruin the records?
