@AliBukcet rory and lane where sitting in her bed, but it was playing pretty soft in the backround it was also from like 1:57- 2:02 it was a rlly short amount of time it was in the first season in the episode "emily's wonderland" and shes likes it cuz it makes her feel glomy
Good message in this song. I don't see how this song could be construed as "emo"? "kill yourself or get over it" is a blunt statement, not a whine about how much life hurts or how pain-stricken the middle-class whiney kids have, they should play this song to emo kids!
has everyone forgotten that 'emo' is just the modern term for 'goth'? lol You guys didn't invent emotion or darkness. Look up The Cure, The Smiths, Morrissey etc etc etc. The term 'emo' is not taken seriously by anyone older than 30 - we've all already been there, done that!! Drop the tags and just be YOU!!! :D If you don't kill yourselves, trust me, you WILL get over it!!
This song was released in 1998 long before the whole EMO thing. It's not emo, it's actually really clever. Because to say life is unfair, it's to say everything in the World is unfair and everything you experience is unfair and BBR are so clever as they narrowed it down to 2 options - kill yourself, or get over it. Like what else can you do if you say life is unfair. I love the song! I actually feel better when I hear it. Perspective <3
well i used to cut myself and i hate it when people call me emo because im not i have blonde hair and wear bright clothes and i tell jokes and have a good time and im not saying that all people who cut themselfs are supposed to hae black hair and stuuf but im just saying because of something that i did as soon as people see my scars they imedietly think im "emo" or depresed or something
Why are you talking about being emo??? The song is great and you don't have to be emo to know that life is fucking unfair you just have to watch the news. Emo nowadays is more about dressing black than really being depressive.
Sometimes I want to send this song to my boyfriend when I'm having a hard time and he won't stop bitching. NOt that his problems are insignificant, I just don't feel like he cares about my problems nearly as much as I do his.
Good tune! I personally love songs that expose the ups and downs of reality, not pointless ones that hide them in meaningless energy. Deep and "emo" songs, (at least of past times), display more original thought and musicianship. This is comforting to listen to. Thanks for the upload.
I totally agree with you. If a person is so undeveloped and ignorant about the word that they think that anything that shows any sign of pain is "emo", well then fuck them, I'm emo I suppose. Just we know enough about pain and darkness and we embrace it doesn't mean that we cut our wrists and have black hair covering our eyes.
You're right, I also find something strangely comforting in this.
I found this through a show named "Monkey Dust", which has a very similar feel to it.
I was into music and shows that portrayed similar insights long before I knew it had been adorned with the word emo.
To be honest it amazes me that people can listen to music and videos like this, dismiss it, and then take a step further and hate anyone who listens to it.
@JaydedWun I found this through watching monkey dust too... only I didnt hear this song, I was looking for "hated sunday" by the same band, maybe the producers did associate the feel of the show with the tone of the band, I think they are pretty similar. You have to love monkey dust!

Why is the "Emo" label applied to anyone who suffers from a mental illness? There was a time before "Emo"
