In November 2010, the unemployment rate was 9.8% with 15.1 million unemployed. (15.1 million/9.8%) = 154 million are able to work in the workforce. 11,941,812 (or 11.9 million) skilled jobs provided to illegal immigrants. GOOGLE “illegal immigration counters”, the 15.1 million unemployed could take the 11.9 million available jobs. The unemployment rate could be reduced to 2.1% {{15.1-11.9)/154}

The dream act is a nightmare act for Americans. How can you reward some one from breaking federal laws? it would be like spitting on the people that are waiting in line for their citizenships. Professior Garcia does not know what he is talking about, he lives in the Chicano 60s movement still. Ask Profssor of economics Larry Kotlikoff from the University of Boston. He states, "if there is another influx of immigrants the country would go bankrupt. It is simply unsustainable". Food for thought.

This was filmed two and a half years ago. I hope Josy has matured a little bit and discovered that the DREAM Act is a partial amnesty that would reward the families of illegal aliens for their premeditated, systematic unlawful conduct, by granting legal residency to their children. Hell no! Why on Earth would we want to do that? The DREAM Act has been shot down by Congress almost half a dozen times and it's hardly a secret why - Amnesties don't stop illegal immigration.

Illegal immigrants are not law abiding citizens. They broke the law coming here and they break the law by staying here. My Grandfather had to have a sponsor, a job, and he had to learn English before he was allowed to move to the US. Why is this asking too much when just 70 years ago it made perfect sense? There is a protocol in place to become naturalized. I hope any and all illegal aliens are deported on site and lose the privilege to become a US citizen. It's called consequences.

The DREAM Act is a partial amnesty. Period. This young lady probably isn't old enough to remember 1986, which is the first time a major amnesty was attempted. It didn't work. Large part of California have become a 3rd World dump because of it, and there are certainly more illegal aliens waiting to get in.

It's not okay to pass the dream act! IT will give funds to illegal students so they can attend college! WE can't afford to send our own middle class to college alot of the time! Rockynurse, I think that you brought up a great point regarding the DREAM Act. This act by no means provides funding for undocumented students, it does not even grant in-state tuition rights to these students.

The only thing that this DREAM Act does is grant temporary/conditional residency to students who want to attend higher education institutions.

they only thing that i'm against is the fact that undocumented students say that they grew up here and blahh... and they only know USA. this may be true but think their parents broke the law but managed to bring them up and take care of them. therefore their parents had to adjust to the life language and culture of USA. WHY CAN'T THEY? of course they can. but they just DON'T want to leave a country that DIDN'T WANT them in the first place.

Your comments are misleading, the Dream Act does not fund undocumented students' tuition. The Dream Act creates a pathway for them to earn citizenship by (1) finishing college without financial aid (2) completing two years of service in the military. Keep in mind that undocumented immigrants also pay taxes.

Also, who is to say that someone is illegal? It's has been the law that has defined undocumented immigrants illegal, but are we all not immigrants? And if we were to apply the term "illegal," did the English colonists not come here illegally? They,in fact, deprived and even murdered the Natives.

I don't have children I am only 21. Obviously there are thousands in colleges but there are more in prison. They probably won't be better educated than my future children if you define better educated as having a higher degree.
